The Indonesian equivalent of the word “real estate” is “Foundation land.” In the community’s eyes, it is generally referred to as real estate business in housing, buildings, etc. We must know that real estate and property are two different things. In a nutshell, real estate and property differ from other types of property due to their physical features and owners. Real estate is more closely tied to physical assets, such as buildings and land, than property, which is more often associated with ownership of intangible assets like land and structures.

The real estate sector had remarkable growth over time and developed into one of the main economic generators. Since the real estate sector has long-term growth potential, it attracts a lot of interest especially businessman.

Referring to the country of Indonesia which also has a lot of real estate that is no less large and big than other countries. Residential, commercial, and industrial real estate are the three categories that exist today.

Here are some examples of real estate companies in Indonesia.

PT Lippo Malls Indonesia is a subsidiary of the Lippo group, the parent company of several companies under the auspices of Lippo, namely PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk, including PT Lippo Malls Indonesia. Based on data obtained from the limited edition book “30 Years of PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk” (2020).

Along with the development of several townships in Indonesia, Lippo Karawaci continues to integrate and become a company with a large and diversified landbank in Indonesia according to idnfinancials.com. As it has grown, Lippo Karawaci has had a favorable influence on practically every facet of society. Building the company’s retail mall, which blends entertainment, shopping, and recreation to match the tastes and wants of people’s ever-changing lifestyles, had one of the biggest effects.

PT Alam Sutera Realty is a company engaged in the construction and management of housing developments. This company has built a solid reputation as a developer in the Serpong region. Alam Sutera Realty has developed into an integrated real estate company that concentrates on its business operations in residential area development and management, commercial business, industrial, and management of world centers, leisure centers, and hotels (including large scale integrated estates).

The business began working on its first project in an integrated Serpong neighborhood called Alam Sutera in 1994, (Tangerang). Alam Sutera’s first phase of development is now complete, and the firm is now concentrating on the second phase, which includes the building of a commercial area. PT. Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk. (BSD) is a company engaged in real estate development activities. Founded on January 16, 1984, BSDE has become one of the largest developers in Indonesia under the Sinar Mas Land group. BSD City is the most ambitious urban planning in Indonesia which has complete facilities in the form of housing, as well as commercial and business areas.

The development of BSD City is centered on enabling its residents to work and enjoy fun. A range of high-quality housing options at reasonable rates, high-tech and expertly managed business districts, and the availability of diverse entertainment and recreational facilities are the results of design that is founded on the concept of a city-based community.

On April 1, 1987, PT Danayasa Arthatama Tbk was founded. Its business operations began in 1989. South Jakarta’s Sudirman Integrated Commercial Area (KNTS), Artha Graha Building, 12th Floor, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Kavling 52–53, is home to the SCBD headquarters.

The scope of SCBD’s activities, according to the Company’s Articles of Association, includes building homes (real estate), offices, shops, and trade centers, as well as their facilities; renting out buildings, office spaces, and shop spaces, as well as their facilities; providing facilities and infrastructure; and developing integrated commercial area developments. The Sudirman Integrated Commercial Area, which spans a 45-hectare area on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in South Jakarta, is now being developed by SCBD (KNTS).

It is evident from the above facts that, Indonesian real estate market makes a significant contribution to both development and economic growth. Therefore, it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that investors are highly encouraged to invest in this sector. The government also has an important role to play in ensuring that it allocates enough money in its budget to carry out proper research in this area and, as a result, promotes the creation of affordable housing facilities for its population, particularly in Indonesia.
