The main incidents of the story

Travelling on a boat in the chocolate river: Augustus had to leave the trip early, due to him falling into the chocolate river while drinking liquid chocolate. After his incident, they went to the testing room through the river. Mr. Wonka mentioned that we don’t know where to go. Others couldn’t understand the real meaning of what he said.

Testing room: Mr. Wonka had invented a new chewing gum. But it was not in a level to consume. But Violet consumed it without listening to others and swelled like a blueberry after chewing the gum.

The room that trained squirrels was peeling nuts: Due to Veruca used to always ask what she wanted from her parents, she couldn’t control herself when she saw trained squirrels. She and her father were taught a lesson by the squirrels.

TV room: Mike became a tiny creature, due to the fact that he didn’t listen to Mr. Wonka and father.

Glass elevator: It was not a usual elevator. It could be able to go horizontally and vertically.

Even though the other four children were given punishments, those punishments were temporary.

Evaluation

Charlie is an exemplary child because he was satisfied with small things. Unlike other children, he didn’t bother his parents to buy expensive things and foods. This story shows that people sometimes fall into trouble, due to their greediness. Augustus was greedy about food. Violet wanted to be the first, however. Veruca wanted to have a trained squirrel and didn’t listen to others. She used to ask anything she saw or what she wanted from her parents. Mike didn’t listen to others and didn’t respect others. He thought that he knew everything. Due to their bad habits, they got into trouble, and they had to leave the factory early. Even though Mr. Wonka was a good and intelligent person, he didn’t realize his father and his feelings until Charlie met. He used to trust that every work is successful when the person is boundless. This book gives lots of valuable advice to both children and adults.
