She opened a book and in she dived,

The world inside was bright.

As she swam deeper,

Like a fish, she was alive.

Inside it was just as paradise;

.

Swimming deeper and deeper,

She realized,

That she was as deaf as a post.

The book’s all she can perceive.

A catch in her breath.

As the climax grew near.

A baffled expression on her face

As the story turns surreal.

.

She is as lost as Alice now,

In this strange paper world.

Wizards are her friends.

She is apathetic to the world,

The characters all she can feel.

She is completely lost now,

Or perhaps she is found.

In this engrossing fantasy world

That’s far from the ground.
