How to focus on writing an essay

Essay is essential skill for people whether in school,college,or work there are some things that gonna help us to stay focus while writing and essay,if you do in spesific way when writing essay you may suffer from getting stuck or struggling to get an idea.So in order to avoid getting stuck or struggling im gonna give some tips to focus writing essay.

Understand the process

First one is Understand the process,so in order to writing an essay you must understand what to do like doing some research for background information, formulate new idea of arguments, creating an outline with much clarity, then write your essay from introduction to final conclusion anyone who already write an essay may know this but its enough to memorize the process.

Be clear about the topic

The second one is be clear about the topic,so when you writing an essay what you should do is take the time to fully understand the topic, its also important to keep your focus on the topic while researching and writing, because its easy to get distracted or get lose sight of the topic so make sure to always write simple point or statement about what your thinking in the notebook or white board.

Be clear about the type of essay

The third one is Be clear about the type of essay you want to write, there are a numbers of different type of essay, and it’s a good idea to know them in order to write a good essay

Expository Essay

This type of essay require the writer to investigate the idea,evaluate the evidence, explain the idea and make an argument

Descriptive Essay

This type of essay require the writer to describe something, in order to develop writer particular experience

Narrative Essay

This type of essay require the writer to tell a story, whether anecdotal,personal,or experiental,this type of essay often require creative writing

Timed Essay

This type of essay require to write a sample within a limited time period

Persuasive Essay

This type of essay require the writer to attempt the reader to agree with the writer point of view

Argumentative Essay

This type of essay require the writer to establish an argument in essay topic

With that all of type you can choose one so you don’t get confused what type of essay you want to write

Use Essay Structure to Help You Focus

The fourth one is Use Essay Structure to Help You Focus, if you structure your essay clearly and have clear line of argument, you will work better and be able to concentrate more easily, the trick to developing a good clear structure is to first capture the main line in an essay outline and then start fleshing out that outline

Include Source Material Directly in Your Outline

The fifth one is Include Source Material Directly in Your Outline, a clear outline will help you get your essay to the right length, so know how many words you need in each section so you can make sure you do not write one section too much and another too little. This way you will have balanced essay that cover different points as well.

Add Some Additional Structure Tips

The sixth one is Add Some Additional Structure Tips, effective structuring will make difference between a good essay and great essay. It will help you deliver a successful essay and boost your confidence.

K.I.S.S

The next one is K.I.S.S so K.I.S.S is stands for Keep It Super Simple , so if you get stuck when thinking about the basic argument or maybe about the main point you want to make. If you can not find the answer to any of those things, ask yourself and let your mind find the solution. Basically this is a psychological trick to enable yourself to find the right connections and name them.

Eliminate audio or visual distractions

The last one is Eliminate audio or visual distractions, as we know any kind of distraction can seriously disrupt your work, audio and visual distraction is really troublesome because while they may not loud they can be distracting when you trying to concentrate hard.

There are several solution for this problem like just walk away from the source of noise or use noise canceling headphones ,especially combine this with focused sound effect like rain or wind to keep your focus up while writing your essay.

That’s all the tips to keep your focus while writing an essay I hope it will helped you when you doing the writing.
