Is it development, or destruction in the disguise of development? AI has become very dependent at this time. People have become so dependent on AI now that they cannot go back. There will come a time when they will never be able to go back from this dependency. And this dependency is increasing more and more. So, if humans are getting so dependent on this, then companies, the AI companies, will understand that humans are dependent, so more humans will need AI. For their profit, for their selfish reasons, they will try to build more advanced AI. And as AI becomes more advanced, this dependency will continue.
So, what will happen is a loop will be created, which we cannot break at some point. And this will be something that backfires on itself. At some point, many jobs are being lost because of this. A report by Goldman Sachs estimates that AI could automate work equal to 300 million full-time jobs globally. This is really not a good thing. Many jobs are being lost. Studies show that up to 30% of jobs could be automated by 2030, and many roles are already being restructured because of AI.
What is happening is that those who had writing jobs are losing them because of this. AI is most effective in writing, translation, and content creation, and research shows that demand for entry-level creative jobs is declining, especially where AI can do basic tasks. AI writes things very quickly and very accurately any draft, story, essay, or article. At that point, they don’t need a human. So, their jobs are going.
Not only that, there are different career fields where jobs are being taken by AI. One example is writing freelancing, content writing, etc. in these, people are losing their jobs. I also wrote another point: right now, AI is also overtaking animation. Even though AI animation is criticized a lot at this time, that time is not far when AI animation will become normal, and people won’t even point it out. And once it becomes normal, people will just work with AI animations. Those who actually animate, who sit for hours drawing and editing their value will be lost.
Which is so scary, because even those who write take a long time, make many drafts, and may have grammatical errors, but at least it shows human emotions. But when AI writes, it gives content in seconds, and it feels robotic. There is nothing like emotions in that, because AI cannot create new emotions or ideas. The same goes for storytelling. If an author is writing a book, it might take years because they put in effort, think a lot, and read a lot. But if people want a quick story, AI can create one instantly. However, the story AI creates has no emotions and is not unique. It only modifies what already exists. It never creates something truly new or original.
So, a saturation point will come where people will not rely on authors anymore. They will just want AI to do the work. Storytelling will not be unique, and animation will be affected because AI can do it, so animators who spend hours will lose their value. This is scary because humans put in effort, but AI delivers in seconds, and people don’t differentiate. People may even appreciate AI more because it has fewer grammatical errors and is more accurate. But the information is not unique; it is not art. It does not have human touch or authenticity.
This keeps going on. So, in the name of development, destruction is happening. It is like destruction is happening in the disguise of development. This is what is happening in the world right now. So, you cannot expect everyone to just say, “We must adapt.” Because AI came, everything changed change your career, adapt, or else you will be left behind. But why are we encouraging this? Yes, time is moving forward, and new careers will come, and we have to adapt. But in the case of AI, this is very dangerous, because you cannot normalize it. You have to put boundaries on it. If everything is done by AI, then how far will we change? How many times will we change careers?
Also, how much harm is being done to the environment? When humans create things like tourist spots, they often don’t care about the environment. Ecosystems get damaged, and people pollute those places. The same is happening with AI. People are developing AI without considering the environment. Everyone is trying to achieve some so-called greater success, but greater success does not exist if you ignore nature. Whenever this has happened, it has led to destruction whether it is nuclear weapons or other harmful developments. AI is also doing the same.
AI depends on human selfish reasons to increase efficiency. Instant consumption habits have increased so much that people cannot wait anymore. They don’t wait for things created with effort and creativity. Creativity is decreasing. Everything is causing harm.
Some people argue that humans must adapt to change. They say that those who don’t adapt get wiped out. But this idea was meant for natural changes. When nature changes, we must adapt to survive. But this change is created by humans for selfish reasons. So what is the point of this change? People are changing their entire careers actors leaving acting, farmers leaving farming. This is not natural.
Nature has no role in this. Humans have created this. And history shows that when humans try to do revolutionary things without thinking, it often leads to destruction wars, nuclear weapons, or destruction of species. Many things have been ruined in the name of change and revolution. AI is also one of those things.
AI is also harming nature. It requires huge energy consumption and large amounts of water for cooling data centers. So much water is used for what? For unnecessary low-quality AI content and writing. This reduces human creativity. People stop relying on their own creativity because AI can do everything in seconds. And people appreciate AI more because it is more accurate, even though it lacks originality and human authenticity.
So, in the name of development, destruction is happening. People should not be shocked when AI eventually takes over most jobs. At that point, there may not even be a chance to think about alternate careers. AI is already being used in crimes, like deepfakes, and people should not be surprised if it is used in more serious crimes in the future.
In conclusion the fast growth of Artificial Intelligence is not a sign of progress but it also shows how quickly humans can become reliant on their own creations. This reliance is increasing rapidly. It might soon be hard to stop. As Artificial Intelligence keeps getting better humans depend on it more and more which creates a cycle that keeps getting stronger. Many jobs are already being lost because of this. Even creative fields like writing, storytelling and animation are slowly being affected.
The importance of work, time and originality is decreasing, while speed and efficiency are being praised without any questions. People are starting to accept work generated by Artificial Intelligence easily even when it lacks emotions, uniqueness and authenticity. At the time this change is not only affecting jobs but also how people think. People are getting used to consuming things and they are becoming less patient with creative processes. Of appreciating the effort that goes into something people prefer quick results. This slowly weakens creativity as individuals start to feel that their hard work has no value compared to something that can be generated in seconds. Over time this can lead to a point where everything becomes repetitive. Lacks originality. The environmental impact of Artificial Intelligence is often ignored. The large amount of energy and water needed to run Artificial Intelligence systems is rarely considered in the pursuit of progress. Like other human-made developments that have harmed nature in the past Artificial Intelligence is also following a similar path, where immediate benefits are prioritized over long-term consequences. History has shown that when humans move forward without considering limits it often leads to damage than true progress. Some people argue that humans must adapt to change. This situation is different. This is not a change that demands adaptation for survival but a change created by humans themselves driven by convenience and profit. Accepting it without questioning can lead to shifts where people are forced to abandon their skills and careers repeatedly.
This raises a question how much change is too much change? It is necessary to understand that not all progress leads to improvement.
Without boundaries Artificial Intelligence can cause more harm than benefit both socially and environmentally. Of blindly following this path there should be awareness and control, over how far Artificial Intelligence is allowed to go. Human creativity, effort and connection should not be replaced in the name of efficiency. If this continues without limits the future may reach a point where there are no alternatives left and the damage cannot be reversed.
