In this modern information world we always see, hear, and talk about different type of information that we believe. There’s a lot of information that we can share with every one of our friends, or some random strangers that we met online. Every conversation that we had would likely to be an information even though that conversation is rather useless to a certain kind of people. Still that kind of conversation is some kind of information, regarding we need that kind of information or not. The use of this information would depends of the uses of it.
Like if we talked about a movie and all the things that happening in the movie. The part of movie that we like and why we liked it. We usually share those things with our friend so we can understand with each other more and deepens the bonds that we have. Another example of using information is like when we do exam, or playing some games. We can observe the things that we want to study ourselves or we can share it through the internet.
Well there is some advantages and disadvantages when it comes to the internet, like some hoax or some exaggerated news that we usually found in different type of platform. I have a story about misinformation that I like to share with you, when i was watching some tik tok vidio i see some recomendation about combination of item in mobile legend, and I really thought that the combo is really legit, because in the vidio they got so many KDA and win the match so easily.
Soo I copy the builds and try it myself, and long story shorts I lose and I let down my teammates. Lose some points and lose some trust in that kind of vidio. Soo basically missinformation can lead us to do wrong decision, miscalculation and let down others. Not only that We can try other example like when we are watching some movie and some random people just spoil it and makes the movie less interesting than it should like when I was watcing spiderman no way home, some random man beside me just casualy tell that the movie will be inculde all of the spiderman in diverent multiverse, and that information is ruining my experience when watching the movie, and i really want to stranggle the man beside me, obviously I’m just kidding.
That’s only the smallest things that missinformation can do to us. How about we make the problem bigger and more real to indonesian people. Like some corruption that happen in this country. Corruption itself is not missinformation but the lies that corruptor made is missinformation, and it would be very dangerous if the corruptor take the money while the data stay the same. We would be very confused because the budget not mach the expenditure. Because of that a lot of people will be angry and disastified about the performance of our goverment. And thus would create hate from our citizen itself. All we need are honest and sincere officials who are willing to care for the citizens all across the boundaries. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
How about the hoax and slanders that alot of people think it’s real. It would be really bad for the people that got the slanders, everyone would gaze them with digust and try to avoiding them as much as possible. I think it’s really sad to think about it that way, because some people just try to afford some living, and do all of the honest work using all of the energy and mind. But one single lie can make them suffer more than they deserve it. Those kind of missinformation will be devastating for the mental health of the victim and will likely to affect their social life. But those things could be prevented if there’s someone who is brave enough to tell us the truth, and then clear the victim name. There’s alot of case in indonesia regarding defamation, and there’s alot of good and bad ending for each case that that pop into my FYP.
If we talk about modernization, we would likely to talk about Artificial Intelligence. Why do I insert this topic? because this day a lot of fake vidio is created by the people that misused AI to do such things. Like making AI to generate lie using prompt, making certain celebrity look bad using AI, And using AI to generate a picture for their sexsual desire. Those kind of thigs would be very bad, and i really want AI to make a restriction about those kind of things, because it will be very uncomfortable to those victim. AI will surely become more common in our daily life and everyone is gonna access it soo easily. And thus lie and deception would be easy to make by anyone.
Long long ago in the medieval era there is also alot of missinformation an misogyny that often happen. For example if some woman dare to speak like she know more than other who have powers, people’s would label her as a witch, and then they gonna tie her to a pole and burn her alive, all of because one singel lie. But in our generation we need to go smarter than just believing one source of information, we need to confirm those information first and then try not to take drastic measure, such as Vigilantism, and other such things. As a human being we often to be fooled by anything surrounding us, we need to be more carefull to trust someone, because trust is one of the key to take our guard down, and when you let your guard down they gonna strike and steal all of your valuable things. This is very common in our sosiety nowaday, and we need to be sure that all of your important information is being locked away, try not to give them those important information, because they can hack it and then steal all of your credit or they can stole your identity and then make a lot of false things using your name.
And now we come to the part why world peace would be ruined because of missinformation. First of all everything around us is driven by information. And what happen if there is some missinformation about something important. A religion perhaps. For example in USA islam is very well hated because everyone thought that islam is very dangerous religion and a lot of terorist proclaim themself to be islam, soo it’s making everyone in there feel uneasy and then label that religion as a violent one. Although all of that is just an misunderstanding about islam itself, because a lot of crime in the USA is usualy created by terorist that proclaim themselves as islam, islam in there got more hate because a lot of people is die because of the accident. Even though they are just an extrimis that really love to spread chaos and misinformation to alot of people acroos the globe. If more and more lies is going to be told peace is not gonna stand anymore, and thus chaos will erupt and humanity begin to crumble.
I know that a lot of people would spend their time in the internet and would likely to come accros a lot of information. Maybe you gonna find some fake news generated by Artificial intelligent. Or find some spoilers while watching the movie that you really want ti watch, or finding some strategies that actually kinda bad, or found some political issues that very irritating to hear or watch, or found some slander news to bring people down, and a lot other more things like so. And as the modernization continues AI will be more powerfull and thus human will be confused if that news is real or not, if those things real or not.
We must adapt to this whole new generation. Soo in order to make these lie generator stop we must control AI and not gonna be controled by them. As a user need to be smart enough to not be indulge by all of the lie that everyone try to tell. We need to check the truth and confirm them as we progress more and more into the future. With this technology we can make more good desicion and predict what will happen soon, we all lives in this earth as a humankind we need to really take care all of the people within the globe and provide love to eachother. And for a reminder please stop spreading missinformation, lie and deception, because one singel drop of brick can make the tallest building collapse. In other words one single lie can make other’s suffer, peace destroyed and kill the planet slowly. And before spreading the information that you got, please try to confirm the information through real source and reliable page, or you can try making those informatiom and provide the truest information from your point of view.
