Currently, electric cars are one of the biggest and trending cars in the world. People the world over have heard of Tesla, one of the most revolutionary electric cars on the market. Although most people are satisfied with electric cars mostly because their batteries contain critical minerals and it is recyclable, also electric cars are eco friendly..But I believe that before 2019, approximately 90% of people in the world will be using hydrogen cars, Because most companies like Benz, BMW, and Hyundai are producing hydrogen cars and also Tesla is not trending like now, and hydrogen is a major material for people and hydrogen cars are more preferred than electric cars.

According to the article from Marketwatch,China plans to have a million hydrogen-powered vehicles on roads by 2035, and Japan, Which has a smaller population, is shooting for 800,000 hydrogen cars by 2030. Although their numbers are still rather low in Europe – 3885 new cars were registered in 2021, with only 228 refueling stations available. However, recently in the United States, There are approximately 30 different EV charging network companies across the US, controlling roughly 47000 stations. At the moment, gas stations are more accessible than electric charging stations.

Europe also has goals for electric vehicles, according to some resources, 4.3 million electric vehicles should enter traffic by 2030.  So most people believe electric cars are better than hydrogen cars. Recently, I saw a news article talking about hydrogen cars and electric cars, and which car is more convenient or preferred. And I would like to claim why electric cars are preferable and better than hydrogen cars.

To begin with, I believe that electric cars are better than hydrogen cars because they can prevent global warming. For example, Now, only Toyota and Hyundai Nexo are not producing electric cars, this information can provide that most of the major car companies are producing electric cars because it’s trending and people are more preferred to use electric cars. And electric cars can minimize environmental issues, now most countries Rack one brain to prove environmental issues like climate change and global warming problems.

In the previous paragraph, I mentioned hydrogen cars cause global pollution and that the gas from hydrogen cars makes the air gray. This would be a very serious problem because countries are making an effort to prevent and prove global warming but hydrogen cars would be obstacles. But in the case of electric cars, it has more advantages than disadvantages. For instance, electric cars can make the air clear because it doesn’t pollute, and electric cars are using electricity instead of using fossil fuels, it can also minimize environmental issues. On the other hand, the disadvantage of electric cars is that it is hard to find an electric station. This could be a critical point for electric cars but now, 47000 electric stations are in the United States. This is the reason why I believe electric cars are better than hydrogen cars.

Furthermore, electric cars are electric cars’ battery production can be clean and manufacturers use eco-friendly materials. Today’s electric car batteries have a carbon footprint that is 2 to 3 times lower than two years ago and growing cleaner still. Manufacturers of Electric cars are setting guidelines for their battery suppliers. For instance, they only require suppliers to only use renewable energy sources during production, like solar and wind energy. These sources can provide the large amount of energy needed to produce electric vehicle batteries without harmful emissions. And also these provide we can minimize environmental issues to use renewable sources. On the other hand, one of the major obstacles facing electric car manufacturers is producing functional, lightweight vehicles. Lighter electric vehicles have a greater range and smaller carbon footprint, but traditional materials make it difficult to achieve this. However, recycled and organic materials are now comparable to traditional materials. They’re lightweight, eco-friendly, strong , and durable. Weight reduction is not the only benefit of using recycled and organic materials, they are also better for the environment. Using new materials like metals and plastics is unsustainable and creates pollution.

Natural or recycled materials minimize environmental impact both during and after the electric vehicle production process. But hydrogen cars are powered by fossil fuels which cause greenhouse gasses that cause climate change by trapping heat, and they also cause respiratory disease from smog and air pollution. Yet, even though electric vehicles are coal-powered which also causes greenhouse gasses, they still lead to lower emissions overall. For instance, Coal reliant countries like China have seen a 20% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions from using electric cars. Because countries  rely even less on fossil fuels, clean energy sources allow electric vehicles to be even more efficient. This is the reason why I assumed that electric cars are better than hydrogen-powered cars.

In conclusion, Many people are considering using hydrogen cars or electric cars, but my recommendation is to use electric cars because electric cars are less polluting and their manufacturers are also made of eco-friendly materials. However, hydrogen cars are using fossil fuels that cause greenhouse gases which cause climate change and are harmful to the environment. Electric vehicles are also coal-powered, but in the case of China, a 20% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions from using electric cars. This is the reason why I believe people prefer electric cars and minimize environmental issues.
