The various uniqueness of Prambanan Temple makes it even more special. From a distance, Prambanan Temple looks like a palace standing majestically in the middle of a stretch of green grass. Each relief on the temple wall tells the story of Ramayana with very detailed and artistic carvings, as well as various other Hindu mythologies.

First, the difference in terms of religion where Prambanan Temple is a Hindu temple, while Borobudur Temple is a journey towards Buddhist teachings. Second, the difference in terms of architecture. Where Prambanan Temple has a towering shape, while Borobudur Temple is formed with a terraced arrangement. And the third difference is in the reliefs and stories depicted. Where Prambanan Temple depicts the epic story of Ramayana, while Borobudur Temple displays Buddhist teachings.
With its towering shape, Prambanan Temple can be compared to the Gothic cathedrals in Europe because of their similar shape, namely towering. However, Prambanan Temple is the Indonesian version. Not foreign. Some similarities between the Gothic Cathedral and Prambanan Temple are that both are tourist icons, and both have deep cultural significance and are buildings built using intricate techniques.
Over time, which has been centuries, Prambanan Temple has been damaged. Which is involved by two natural factors, the Earthquake and the Eruption of Mount Merapi. Which causes some parts such as the arrangement of blocks to collapse and the reliefs to erode due to volcanic material that covers the walls of the temple. And due to the weather that is not possible, causing the rocks that are arranged to experience weathering.
In addition to natural factors, there are other factors. Namely, the loss of valuable artifacts from the Prambanan temple that were stolen and taken abroad. This causes the story carved on the wall to be incomplete. However, the Indonesian government and UNESCO are working together to restore the beauty of the temple caused by several factors. So that now it can still be enjoyed by visitors from all over.
When visiting Prambanan Temple, there are several taboos that must not be done or violated. Among them are
one, you must not be inside the temple. Second, you must not disturb the congregation who are praying. Third, you must not cross areas that are not allowed to be crossed.

Prambanan Temple is not only a tourist destination, but also a cultural heritage that reflects the glory of Hindu civilization in Indonesia. With magnificent buildings and reliefs depicting stories in the past that have interesting histories, making this temple known as a tourist destination that is often visited by various visitors.
