Exploring new places is one of the most loved hobbies of many. Several people have the habit of experiencing the excitement of exploring new places. It tends to create a sense of comfort for these people in a way that they can get quickly used to a new place or city.

This can help a person in many ways as people can have a kind of nervous nature if we consider the jobs where people are bound to move place to place very frequently. But on the contrary, the mother nature and the beauty of the past, can give us a different feeling and can even inspire us to do something brilliant. As can be depicted from the example of movie called Avatar, which was inspired by the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in China.

Now, let’s take a look at some of the underrated but beautiful places, which can be breath taking.

Chopta, Uttarakhand

First of all, let’s start with something for the trekking enthusiasts. This place has both the options available for the trekking expert. Either you can go for minimal treks or you can opt for lengthy excursion at Tungnath or Chandrashila. One of the most beautiful places of North India, this place can definitely give you some excellent memories to remember.

Damro, Arunachal Pradesh

Often ignored, this place is a must in your travel list. It is small village present in Arunachal Pradesh with a population of around 500. It is famous for its population of Adi Padam Tribe. It also has the longest hanging bridge of Arunachal Pradesh. It is a place which has a taste of its own, in the form of its way of simple living. You can enjoy and experience the daily life of its tribe as well as taste the delicacies of apong and raja chili chutney.

Annapurna Hike Route

The Annapurna hike route is a must-do for any avid hiker looking to experience the beauty and challenge of the Himalayan Mountains. Hampi, Karnataka

It is the city which will remind you of the historic kingdom of Vijaynagar. Apart from being a part of World Heritage Site, this city has numerous temples and ruins to remind you of its glorious days. It can be best explored during the winter season. Another attraction can be the Hampi festival which is celebrated here in the month of November. Some of the places of importance in Hampi that need to be mentioned here are Virupaksha Temple, Vithala Temple, Lotus Palace and Yantrodharaka Temple.

Idukki, Kerela

The name Kerela itself depicts the God’s own country. The mesmerizing beaches along with lush green sights can most probably hypnotize anyone with love for natural beauty. It is one of the lesser explored regions of Kerela, where nature will leave you dumbstruck. Beautiful sceneries with valleys and hills can be very alluring to almost anyone who is willing to go to this place. As we all know, November to February is the best time to explore any place with hills. Same is the case with Idukki.

Jawai, Rajasthan

Now, all the wildlife lovers will have a great time in this place called Jawai. It is present in Rajasthan. It is known for sanctuaries where we can see leopards, different variety of birds and crocodiles. It is also specially very popular among bird lovers as it is a hotspot for migratory birds during the winter season.

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh

History has been kind to us. Even today there are places where we can see the beauty of the past in the form of forts and temples built by the rulers of our country in the past. Some of them are well preserved. Same is the case with Kurnool. It is a city which has Peta Anjanyeswami temple, the new Shirdi Sai Baba Temple and Venugopalaswami temple. This offbeat location will give you the best experience in the months of December to February.

Majuli, Assam

Being the World’s Largest Fresh Water Island, it is one of the popular tourist destinations in our country. People from all parts of the world come here to enjoy the sheer beauty of nature. Here, nature is the ultimate superstar with all the shows going houseful almost all the time. It is present in the river Brahmaputra and 20 km away from Jorhat City. It is also called the cultural capital of Assam. So, you will also enjoy the festivals which are celebrated here like Raas. One of the reasons due to which people come here is to experience the culture and lifestyle of the tribal people living here. If you are planning to go there, then choose July to March for the journey.

Murud, Maharashtra

The sheer sight of Murud -Janjira Fort is going to definitely give you the feeling of being in a different time period. This fort also has a special place in history books as it is considered to be one the forts in India which has never been conquered by anyone. The greater supporter of this fact is the epic location of this fort. Surrounded completely by water, this fort can be very entertaining for you.

Osian, Rajasthan

Enough of the cold places, now we can take a look at the beautiful deserts of Rajasthan. This place is famous for handmade goods, desert safari and Brahmin and Jain temples. The raw beauty of desert will definitely give you a soothing and calming feel. The best time to visit this place is from November to February.

Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh

It is also a Holi place like many others present in our country, which are present on our list of great places to explore. It is one of the places which fulfils the desires of a snow loving person. It is cool from March to September and rest of the year; it is snow covered. More importantly, it is the birthplace of the Dalai Lama and a highly snap worthy destination.

Now, after looking at so many beautiful and noteworthy places. It is time for us to decide where we can go to calm our thirst for exploration. One thing which we all can agree that there are many places in our country which need more popularity and then they can also give competition to the foreign tourist destinations.
