In 2012, me and my family had the chance to visit Malang, a city in East Java, Indonesia, with my family. It was a trip I’ll never forget, filled with exciting adventures, beautiful sights, and unforgettable experiences. Looking back, I still remember the joy of picking apples straight from the tree and the fun we had at orchards. The trip was more than just a vacation; it was a time to bond with my family, enjoy nature, and explore a place I had never been before.

The excitement started building as the trip approached. I had heard so much about Malang the cool weather, the beautiful apple orchards, and the family-friendly attractions. I had been to several tourist destinations in Indonesia, but Malang seemed different. It was known for its peaceful atmosphere, fresh air, and beautiful landscapes, making it the perfect destination for a family getaway.

I remember my parents, my siblings, and I packing our bags eagerly for the trip. Malang was about 5 hours away from our hometown, so the journey lil bit long, but it felt like we were going on a grand adventure. I could already imagine the sights we would see, and I was especially excited about picking apples straight from the tree a unique experience that I had never had before.

When we finally arrived in Malang, the first thing I noticed was the cool air. The city was located in the mountains, so it had a much more pleasant climate than the tropical heat we were used to. The weather was perfect for sightseeing, and the city itself had a calm and relaxed vibe that was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The streets of Malang were lined with old buildings, and there was a charm to the place that I immediately fell in love with. As we drove through the city, I noticed how green everything was, there were trees everywhere, and the hills around the city were covered in lush vegetation. It felt like we had entered a peaceful, wonderful world, and I couldn’t wait to explore it more.

One of the main reasons we had chosen Malang for this trip was because of its famous apple orchards. Malang is known for its high-quality apples, and there are several orchards where visitors can pick apples directly from the trees. I had always wanted to experience this, and I couldn’t wait to do it with my family.

We went to one of the apple orchards located just outside of the city. As we walked into the orchard, I was amazed by how beautiful the place was. Rows upon rows of apple trees stretched out before us, their branches heavy with ripe, red apples. The sight was simply stunning, and the smell of fresh fruit filled the air. I couldn’t wait to start picking.

My siblings and I rushed to the trees, eagerly grabbing apples from the branches. The apples were so fresh and crisp, and it was so much fun picking them ourselves instead of buying them from the store. I could feel the satisfaction of picking each apple, and we all had a great time competing to see who could pick the most apples. Our parents took photos of us, and we all laughed and joked together. It was a simple but joyful experience, one that brought us closer as a family.

After picking apples, we were able to taste them right there in the orchard. The apples were sweet, juicy, and delicious, far better than anything we had tasted from a supermarket. We even bought some to take back with us as souvenirs for my family at home. It was a unique experience, and I remember thinking that it was one of the best parts of the trip.

Another highlight of our trip was visiting Jatim Park, a popular amusement park located in Batu, a town near Malang. Jatim Park was known for its mix of fun rides and educational attractions, making it a great destination for families. We were all excited to spend the day there, and we couldn’t wait to explore everything the park had to offer.

When we arrived at Jatim Park, we were greeted by the sight of large, colorful rides and attractions. The park was very clean, well-maintained, and filled with visitors enjoying their day. There were so many different areas to explore, they are offering something new and exciting.

One of the first attractions we visited was the Science and Technology Museum. It was an educational yet fun place where we learned about various scientific principles and phenomena. There were interactive exhibits that allowed us to experiment with different concepts, and my siblings and I had a blast exploring the museum and testing out the various displays. It was a great way to learn while having fun, and we spent hours there without even realizing how much time had passed.

After the museum, we went on several thrilling rides. I remember the adrenaline rush from riding roller coasters and spinning rides. The laughter and excitement of my family made the experience even better. My brother were especially excited, and the enthusiasm was amazing. We all had so much fun together, and it was clear that Jatim Park had something for everyone whether you were interested in science, history, or just looking for some thrills.

Beyond the attractions, one of the things that stood out to me during the trip was the natural beauty of Malang. After our visit to Jatim Park, we took some time to drive around the surrounding areas. The hills and mountains around Malang were covered with greenery, and there were small farms, rice fields, and villages scattered across the landscape. I couldn’t help but admire the stunning views as we drove along the winding roads. The fresh air, the cool climate, and the peaceful environment made Malang feel like a hidden gem.

We also stopped by some local markets, where we tried fresh fruits and local delicacies. I was especially excited to try the famous bakso Malang, a traditional meatball soup that was rich and flavorful. The food was a great way to experience the local culture, and it was a perfect way to end a long day of exploring.

The trip to Malang was more than just about sightseeing; it was also a chance for my family to spend quality time together. Between picking apples, exploring Jatim Park, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings, we had so many moments to laugh, talk, and make memories. Traveling as a family allowed us to connect in a way that we couldn’t always do during our busy everyday lives.

The beauty of Malang, combined with the experiences we shared, made this trip unforgettable. It was a reminder of the importance of spending time together and enjoying the little things in life, like picking apples straight from the tree or riding a roller coaster with my siblings. Those moments of joy and laughter are what I cherish most about the trip.

Looking back on the trip to Malang in 2012, I realize just how special that experience was. From the peaceful orchards where we picked apples to the excitement of Jatim Park, the trip was filled with so many wonderful memories. It was a chance to explore a new place, bond with my family, and create experiences that would stay with me forever. Malang will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’ll always look back on that trip with fondness, knowing that it was a time well spent with the people I love most. One day, I hope so.
