Please intoduce yourself in brief

Born at the “City of Jasmine’s”- Madurai, Tamil Nadu and Brought up at the “Manchester of South India”- Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Keerthana M S is an inquisitive writer, quizzard, debater and singer. She is a high schooler at The PSBB Millennium School, Coimbatore being an accolade at the creative writing club, gavelier at the gavels club .etc. The journey of enjoying the poems that came for recitation in her grade 5 to date where she writes her thoughts describes all about how long she has come. Writing has never ever been boring for her because her notepad and her pen has always been her bestfriend, companion and her partner in lows. Noting this down as one of her milestones, she always loves to quote the lines of Robert Frost, which says – “Miles to go before I sleep, Miles to go before I sleep.”

What are your prominent achievements?

I feel being creative is by itself a great achievement one can do, because I consider the quote “Be you, be unique” as a part of everyone’s life, which denotes that nobody can be you and that’s your superpower. Otherwise I am a Public Speaker with a CV of more than 60 online and offline debates and conferences, All Rounder at school academics, Gold medalist in General Knowledge and Basketball, Silver Medalist in Kho-Kho, District Level chess champion and I have a no blank place untried because as much as we explore is when we understand who we are.

When did you participated in the monomousumi writing contest and what was your rank?

September and May- Rank 2(2) and Rank 2(1) in the junior category

What is your weakest point and how do you overcome it?

My weakest point is thinking about my weakest point because there are many, but then I am a person who thinks there should be no sentiments in one’s life because that’s where we lag behind our goals and aims and that’s exactly what my dad has taught me.

Who is your idol and why?

My idols are my parents. They both are the best examples who taught me how I should live and how I should not. I grew up by seeing their success and mistakes which made me understand life in a better way. Like, how real life problems makes us understand mathematics better, the same way a real life demonstration made me understand how life becomes a game.

Which inspires you the most why you would like to emulate them?

Getting inspired has no end seriously. Suddenly when you here a song you are inspired or rather motivated, when you see someone working hard you get inspired again. So a vise or a versa keeps inspiring you in each second of your life, directly or maybe indirectly, no matter what.

What keeps you motivated in your life?

Just a line from my favourite poet who again inspired me – “Miles to go before I sleep and Miles to go before I sleep”

Where do you see yourself after 5 years from now and what is your ultimate goal?

I see myself as a journalist in some famous newspaper group. That’s my ambition and future occupation. My ultimate goal I would say is to write write and write about all that I could publicly and they should understand and realise stuff by considering my articles seriously.

What is there in your wish list?

My wish list has only one thing, to be a part of an internship or a part-time team which would create a mark in my writing journey’s profile of mine.

Any memory which you would like to share to the world?

The best memory of mine is me winning the 6th position in the district level chess tournament and that was one of those golden days where my dad said “Should I not be so proud of my daughter winning a price at the stage”. It’s really tough to take out that very day back again, like now. But it was really really precious.

What’s one thing that make you different from your peers?

Like I always say, not one or two, we are completely different from each other from how we face problems or be it our talent, they can’t be me, I can’t be them.

What are your hobbies and how do you balance your profession/studies with your hobbies?

My hobbies aren’t specific. I do multitasking. Based on the feel or mood I do what I like. But my policy is to take all the fun out of whatever you do. Making people around me to smile or laugh is all that which makes my happiness. If you would keenly watch me writing, there wouldn’t be it without a line of humour there. That’s my style. I balance both because of the endless support of my mom and teachers. Without them I wouldn’t balance it really, I swear.

What are your writing tips for your peers? Do you have any advice for aspirants of writing contests?

No tips. Write with what you know, what you like and what you think. That forms the best damn thing of a writing piece. Feelings and Self Research is the most valuable things one could get to read out of you. And yes, I would always recommend Monomousumi to all the writers because I always have a different level of gratefulness to them for building my career path.

What would you like to do your bit for the society?

As I said, again, Awareness and Knowledge is all that I want to give to the society, through a bit of my words.

How did you come across monomousumi and share your experience with this platform?

This was recommended to me by my mother and we came across this through Facebook. Monomousumi is always the best ever platform be it for beginners or experienced, they give the best for building up one’s career in writing.

Do you think participating in monomousumi contest helped you in anyway?

A lot. And only this wise act of mine has helped me to come up towards opening my mind and writing in a vast manner.

Anything other you wish to share

Thanks to the whole team for taking time for such an initiative

Your thought on “Essay

What is an essay? A write-up? Absolutely not. An essay is a a long paragraph that has sentences combined and the sentences are made out of feelings, not just words or letters. Presenting such a precious writeup to contests is so good, why? They recognize you as a writer, for writing just what you feel. Nice right? Writing is really good, many say, and the reason which I later understood after I started writing is, in the world where no person understands another’s feelings, writing and their competitions value your feelings. How do I win this contest? Your essay should be informative, new and shouldn’t follow plagiarism. Research is the most basic point of an essay. It doesn’t mean you should have to be behind the same Wikipedia always. Just collect the most important points and join the dots with your creativity. The information should be true, should have your feelings and also not to be Ctrl+V and Ctrl+C. A true essay from the depth of your heart and mind would always be the best and is the winner even if not said.
