Before Saturday Night Live, before Elf, before Stepbrothers, before Megamind, there was a guy called Will Ferrel. He was a funny guy and still is. He started being a comedian by reading morning announcements in his class, and that started a chain of events that led to him be one of the most famous/best comedians to ever perform.
Early life
Born on July 16, 1967, he grew up with his brother Patrick and his parents, Roy Lee who was a pianist for the Righteous Brothers and Betty Kay, a teacher. They got divorced when he was 8, but he kept himself entertained with jokes. He was shy but quiet and excellent at school, using his voice occasionally. He was enthusiastic about sports and was a striker for his school football team. He thought about being a broadcaster but found it boring.
Rise to Comedy
After finding broadcasting boring, his friends nudged him to try performing because of his skill with comedy. After college, he joined The Groundlings, a sketch and improv comedy group in Los Angeles. He refined his talent for absurd characters and impressions.
Rise to Fame
1995, he joined Saturday Night Live. He was known for his impressions for famous people such as Alex Trebek and George W Bush. He participated in movies such as Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Zoolander. His first taste of fame was in Old School, where he starred as Frank the Tank. Also, that year, Will starred as Buddy the Elf from the Movie Elf.
Personal Life
Will Ferrell is married to Swedish actor Viveca Paulin, who he met in an acting class. They have 3 sons, Magnus, Mattias and Axel. He has known to be humble, private, and laid-back when off-screen. He organised a non-profit charity called Cancer for College which provides scholarships to cancer survivors. He is a huge soccer fan, being a part-owner of the Los Angeles FC(MLS). He participated in 10 Major League Baseball teams in one day to support charity. He also turned down 28 million dollars for Elf 2.

Will Ferrell has won many awards in his career like Emmys, Tony awards and Mark Twain prize. He has won 3 Emmys, one for Succession (2020), and two for Live in Front of a Studio Audience (2019,2020). He has been nominated twice for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy: for The Producers (2005) and Stranger Than Fiction (2006). He also has a Tony Award for Your Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush, and a Mark Twain Award for his outstanding contributions to American comedy in 2011. Notable mentions are his star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame which he received in 2015, and his Golden Raspberry awards.

He also used to be a Mall Santa for 5 months before his debut in movies. And he also originally wanted to be a sport broadcaster, but after getting the job, he found it boring and quit.
