Travelling has become a part and parcel of modern life. Everybody in some way or other has to undergo travelling to make their both ends meet. Travelling on the part of a person has its own pros and cons. Travelling helps one from the purview of exploring life when one travels a long distance and helping him or her in enjoying the mysteries of places so travelled.
Travelling also helps us in overcoming the mental tag of covering long distance. In such a situation when a person travels long distances he or she overcomes the anxiety or phobia associated with geographical boundaries. In this way it helps one to overcome the psychological distance between two places and thereby enriching his or her mind.
Travelling helps one to broaden the horizons of one’s mind. In this process, the whole world becomes too miniature for the traveler. Travelling thus helps the traveler to relook and reanalyze life from an exciting or an adventurous point of view. Thus, travel and adventure for a traveler becomes corollary and ancillary to each other.
Now the moot question that arises is whether there should have some yardstick which determines the advantages or disadvantages of frequent travelling. Another question that is pertinent to analyze at this point of time while pondering over the fact whether frequent travel broaden the mind or distracts from daily reality is to analyze whether there should be a dividing line between traveling and frequent travelling.
The answer to these above two questions lie in the fact that everything in this world has its own limits. So does frequent travelling. Yes, it is true that travelling is an indispensable part of modern life yet, travelling should not be made a plea in this regard. A traveler must introspect and ponder over the needs and urgency of travelling and, then only he or she should go ahead with his travelling plans.
Travelling should not be undergone with a useless purpose. In simpler terms, a traveler must be able to understand the differentiating line between traveling and roaming. This is so because frequent traveling without any solid reason behind it distracts the mind from the right path and can certainly bring about anarchy and chaos in one’s family and personal life. This is also because traveling without any proper reason can derail one’s life from the proper trajectory.
Thus, in this way traveling without any proper reason makes it just a wastage of time, money and energy. There are many persons who undergo frequent travelling as time pass. When such a motive is inculcated in one’s personality then for him or her traveling turns him or her into being an escapist or, in other words a fugitive especially from the point of view of daily realities of their lives.
It is also observed in today’s world that, one undergoes traveling to escape from the daily responsibilities of family life. In this regard a person must be able to understand the reality, needs and compulsions of family life. In this endeavor a person should not make frequent traveling as a pretext to escape from the compulsions as well as complexities of day-to-day life.
A traveler before undergoing frequent travelling must understand about the daily realities of life and also about whether his or her intent of frequent travelling has any negative repercussions on his or her kith and kins or, in other words his or her near and dear ones. Frequent traveling thus should not be undertaken so that, it creates anarchy or chaos among one’s near and dear one’s so far as fulfilling the needs and desires of day-to-day life are concerned.
In simpler terms traveling should be undertaken by drawing a distinct Lakshman Rekha between frequent traveling and one’s family as well as societal responsibilities. The dictum of ‘home comes first’ so far as the interest and necessities of family life is concerned comes into play in this regard. Traveling loses its utility if it is goal less and too frequent.
At the same time, it can certainly be pointed out that traveling has certainly more advantages than disadvantages. Therefore, for a person it is of utmost necessity as to how one draws up his or her traveling plans. Traveling must be undertaken with a distinct plan in mind. As frequent traveling without any proper reason for undergoing it as a whole certainly makes it a futile exercise on its own.
If we cite from history, we find that, Portuguese traveler Vasco da Gama’s quest for and discovery of a sea route to India by dint of which he landed at Calicut in May, 1498 profoundly impacted the course of Indian history. This discovery of sea route to India through the Cape of Good Hope helped not only in the discovery of a new sea route but also, it increased trade and commerce of India with the outside world.
Vasco da Gama’s adventurous sea voyage has certainly broadened the world being’s outlook towards India as well as helped them to add a new feather in their thought process so far as knowing this great land of ours namely, India. Thus, Vasco da Gama’s sea voyage and his efforts is a distinct answer of the fact that traveling with a distinct purpose certainly broadens the horizons and outlook of one’s mind.
The fact which is true about Vasco da Gama is also equally true for the common masses of this world. Thus, travelling with a certain goal and purpose cannot certainly be dispensed with. Traveling with a rational mind can work wonders in the life of an individual. In this way traveling can become an indispensable part of human life. Traveling thus aid and abate a new dimension to the mankind’s thought process.
Coming specifically to the fact of traveling among tiny tots as well as teenagers it can certainly be pointed out that among all the age groups tiny tots and teenage are the age categories wherein a proper and planned traveling expedition among them can certainly go a long way in broadening these age groups horizons of their body, mind and spirit.
Traveling by the able guidance of their parents and their near and dear ones helps these age groups to explore life via an equimolar mixture of excitement, adventure and socialization. Traveling thus in the special context of tiny tots and teenagers helps them to explore their lives via a path of inquisitiveness and adventure.
Traveling will certainly help these age groups in their studies. Traveling acclimatize them about the various flora and faunas of this world. Moreover, travelling helps the pupils and students to get a live demonstration of the various multi-dimensional facets of the world and worldly beings. It also helps them to explore life from a newer and grandeur dimension.
In a nutshell we the human beings can certainly overcome the cons associated with frequent traveling by undergoing travelling in a planned, systematic and rational way. Travelling should be made a pathway of looking and rejuvenating our lives from a happy and grandeur dimension. In this effort of ours every destination that we travel upon must have its own utility, purpose and meaning.
On the contrary meaningless travelling in one’s life should certainly be dispensed with. In this way, we will be able to overcome the cons associated with frequent travelling and thereby engrossing and engulfing upon the pros associated with travelling and adventure. Thus, all the members of the society will be able to introspect their respective lives from a positive and happy perspective. The key in this regard lies in maintaining a coherent balance between our travelling plans and the needs and compulsions of our day-to-day life.
