Do you want to go to Canberra? Well if you have an interest, l will tell you all the things you must do and all the places you must visit. Canberra is a fun place to visit. I’m sure you will enjoy it because all the places I mentioned will be huge and will take a long time to explore and take photos.
Last February, l went to Canberra with my parents and my friends. We started our journey from Sydney to Canberra. It was a long trip by car. We went to the Parliament House, The War Memorial and The Royal Australian Mint. We bought our own food because we did not want to spend too much money. I enjoyed it a lot because l could even meet my friend who lives near Canberra. It has been so long since we have met.
But before we start any journey we need to be prepared. You don’t want to place a hotel order the first time you arrive there because it might be fully booked out. You need to book a hotel before-hand. Start by booking a hotel that can fit all of you.
Now comes the major point, budget. Your accommodation for a budget traveller is AU $30 per day per person. For a mid range traveller for accommodation is AU$80 per day per person. For food per person per day you will be spending around AU$25 to AU$60. For public transportation you will be spending AU$3 to AU$10. Overall you have to spend somewhere around AU$90 to AU$152 per day.
There are many restaurants near there. If you are a local you can bring your own food but if you are here to try Canberra’s cuisines such as Barramundi a classic delectable Australian fish dish, Damper which is a Australian bread best tried with Golden Syrup. Pavlova, which is the traditional Australian dessert. Canberra is filled with multiple options for vegetarians, vegan and non vegetarians. One can find unlimited food choices in Canberra.
There are many hotels near the parliament house and the war memorial like Waters edge plazar,chimera and gilo and the boat house. There are many food places there so you really don’t need to worry about food.
Now onto the places you visit. I recommend three places like I mentioned the Parliament House, The War Memorial and The Royal Australian MInt. The next three paragraphs l will be talking about these three places.
The Parliament House is a place where some of the Prime Ministers of different countries meet and have meetings. The Parliament House is a huge place. There is even a huge pond at the entrance. It has public access so you can visit the Parliament House from 9am to 5pm. The Parliament house was created in 1927. It was created by Mitchell and was opened by Queen Elizabith in 1988. The Parliament house has many meeting places. At the Parliament House there are pictures of all the Australian Prime Ministers.
The War Memorial was made in 1941 by Emil Sodersteen and John Crust. It is also a huge place. I got to learn a lot about World War I and World War II. It is open from 9am to 4pm. There was much proof of World War I and World War II. The best part was the poppy wall. I really wanted to know where the poppy wall was located and now l know. The War Memorial was a really fun place. I was shocked with new information about both of the wars. It was very interesting to know all this information.
The last one is the Australian Royal Mint.The Royal Australian Mint is not a common place so you might be thinking what is The Royal Australian Mint? The Royal Australian Mint is a place where people create coins and medals. Since 1966 The Australian Royal Mint has made over 14 billion coins with 2 million coins a day. Opening hours are 8:30am-5:00pm. It is a huge place and is run by The Australian Government. There was even a place where you could create your own coins. It was a fun place as well.
If you ever go to Canberra you should visit the Royal Australian Mint ,Parliament House and War Memorial as they are three very famous landmarks and recommended places. If you explore these three places you will be filled with lots of necessary information.
Canberra is not only about these three places, there are many other places that you could enjoy with your family like cafés, malls, theme parks and so on. There are also many landmarks like Mount Ainslie lookout, Hot Air Balloon Ride, Australian Portraits and so on.
So, if you visit Canberra you will have a great time.
