Norway, the first on our list, has stunning fjords(pronounced as fyôrds). A fjord is a sea inlet with a cliff. The population of Norway is 5.6 million people. Norway has 2 official languages – Bokmål and Nynorsk. Here are some cool facts about Norway! Lærdal Tunnel is the longest road tunnel in the world. It measures 24.51 kilometers (15.23 miles) in length. It connects the communities of Lærdal and Aurland in Norway. Salmon sushi was introduced to Japan by Norway. Here is something you never knew – The Norwegian flag has 6 flags inside it – France, Russia, Poland, Indonesia, Netherlands, and Finland.
Next on our list is New Zealand. Like Norway, New Zealand also has fjords. New Zealand, or Aotearoa as it is known in Māori, also has mountains. New Zealand has 3 national languages. They are: English, Māori, and surprisingly, New Zealand Sign Language. Yes, New Zealand Sign Language(NZSL). NZSL is a sign language made entirely for the New Zealand deaf community. Here’s a fact about NZ’s flag – It was adopted for 160 years straight(as of 2025)! Check these interesting facts about New Zealand. New Zealand has more sheep than humans! The sheep-to-human ratio is 6:1. It was also the first country to grant women the right to vote, having passed it in 1893!
Following the path is Croatia. Croatia is a paradise of islands, containing over 1200 islands. It includes low mountains, highlands, flat plains, and a stunning coastline along the Adriatic Sea. A cool Croatian fact: The Croatian anthem is called “Our Beautiful Homeland”! Croatian is a language chiefly spoken in Croatia, where it is the official language. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia are other countries where Croatian is spoken. This is a cool fact of never staying still – The Zlatni Rat beach(in Croatia) is always changing shape like a rat’s tail!!!! Croatia is famed for its scenic pebbled beaches too!
4th on our list is Canada. Canada is a country in North America. It has ten provinces and three territories which extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and northward into the Arctic Ocean, making it the world’s second-largest country by total area and making it have the world’s longest coastline!! Canada features black-blue lakes, numerous rivers, majestic western mountains, rolling central plains, and forested eastern valleys. The Canadian Shield, a hilly region of lakes and swamps, stretches across northern Canada and has some of the oldest rocks on Earth!! Canada’s official languages are French and English. There are so many random, funny, and amazing statues scattered across the country!
Last but not least is France. France is a country in Europe and a member of the European Union(EU). Its national language is French, a language used as a choice in many schools. A language fact – France also recognises lots of other languages! France consists of a terrain that is predominantly flat plains or gently rolling hills in the north and the west. The terrain is mountainous in the south and east(The famous Alps).
Did you know that the Eiffel Tower was meant to be temporary? Yes, this monument was originally built for a fair, but it was allowed to stay because of emerging technologies!!
