One Special Day on 23rd April, which we celebrate as ‘World Book Day’. World Book Day is celebrated to promote Reading, Writing and Publishing. It was declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in the year 1995 on 23rd April.
UNESCO and the international organizations take the lead to celebrate publishers, booksellers and libraries… on this day. Book fests and events are organized to reward contribution to books and authors, encouraging everyone to access books….
23rd April 1616, Dead of Cervantes, Shakespeare, Inca Garcilaso De La Vegas… due to which that day became an emblematic date for World literature, the day was also selected to reward contribution to the great dignified appearance…
In 1995, it was decided to celebrate April 23rd as “World Book Day” by UNESCO and since then, the date has prominence in the history of literature.
April 23rd marks the Death and Birth Anniversary of many other prominent authors such as Haldor K. Laxness, Maurice Druon, Manuel Mejía Vallejo, Vlademir Nabokov, Josep Pla. Therefore, even with it, it became obvious for UNESCO to choose April 23rd to celebrate World Book Day, worldwide.
It is also celebrated worldwide to recognise the scope of Books as a link between the past and the future along with being a cultural and generational bridge.
Books can be said as people’s Best-friend, Guiders, and Philosophers too. They can make a connection to a World that we don’t know though…
Books are very important for everyone. Because, books are the sea of   knowledge that gives knowledge that we all need. Books help build a person’s character. So, books are also therefore called true friends of Humanity.
Because, books always guide one in the right direction. Reading books not only enhances a person’s knowledge but it is also a means of entertainment.

From books, we get knowledge about every field. We do not have to depend on anyone else to acquire knowledge. Knowledge of books makes a person self-sufficient. Books are an invaluable source of knowledge and simple means of acquiring knowledge. We get knowledge about any particular person from books.

In the past, if one wanted to acquire knowledge of any subject, knowledge was obtained from the Guru. But now the knowledge of all things comes from books. It leads to social and mental development of humans.

-Reading Books means, Discovering by getting or enhancing a specified level of knowledge…
-Writing in Books means putting one’s thoughts or one’s visual imagination into words and sharing them with people in need, indeed…

This is what Books are made up of – Readers and Writers…

“Books don’t always teach what Life holds,
And Life doesn’t always teach us what Books hold…
But, Books will definitely hold the Reader and ask Life that ‘what do the Reader hold?’
So in that case, henceforth Books can be called as a ‘Guide’ to one.”
