Episode 6 : The Separation
It was around midnight and Ammu’s tears had finally subsided as she fell asleep in the Master’s chest but still, without opening up the truth. The Master, however, couldn’t sleep, his mind was preoccupied with Ammu’s words and the truth she is not opening up. The sudden knock on the door shocked him ! He wondered who could dare to disturb them on their wedding night..? Gently, he shifted Ammu to the bed, wiped away her tears and kissed her forehead. As he tucked the blanket around her, the knocking grew louder and louder !
When the Master opened the door, his assistant stood before him, panic etched on his face. The Master’s tone turned angry. “What happened? Why are you knocking on the door at this time?” His assistant’s words tumbled out in a rush. “Our cotton factory manager called; the factory’s on fire and many workers are heavily injured. He’s on the line, waiting for your instructions. Master, please come fast.”
The Master left the room hurriedly, running towards the telephone to assess the crisis. As soon as he departed the room, a woman slipped into his room, checking on Ammu – leaving as quietly as she had entered, leaving Ammu undisturbed. Hours later, near dawn, the Master returned to the room, exhausted but relieved to find Ammu still sleeping peacefully. But his face suddenly became sad, thinking he had to leave immediately for the cotton factory miles apart….
