Honey blonde will rule 2025 thanks to Rihanna. Richy Kandasamy, a colorist and vice president of R+COLOR Development and R+Co Collective member, recommends the golden hue on light brown or dark blonde natural bases. Honey blonde fits cool skin tones, neutral complexions, and medium to light eyes.
A peach fuzz
Pantone’s 2025 colour of the year is Peach Fuzz, and we’re delighted to see more peach items, particularly beauty. This warm, delicate shade works well for blush, eyeshadow, and lips for all skin tones.
Celebrity makeup artist Natalie Dresher says adding this shade to your next beautiful look is easy. She advises using blush and peach in the eye crease. “I would deepen the outer lid with MAC’s Shell Peach eyeshadow and a warm brown, like Saddle,” adds Dresher. Rim the eyes with MAC’s Coffee eyeliner, then add Melba, a peach blush, and a warm bronzer.
1980s pixie cut
’80s pixie cuts still dominate cropped styles. The cut is short on the sides and back and somewhat longer on top, with side-swept bangs, according to stylist Shelly Aguirre. With layers and rough edges, this creative hairdo oozes confidence and uniqueness, giving any look an edgy touch. Aguirre says it can be worn sloppy or elegantly, making it suitable for different events.
1990s makeup
“We are beginning to relive the iconic ’90s makeup trends, and I am here for it!” says celebrity makeup artist Sarah Redzikowski, who takes inspiration from ’90s stars and supermodels. The period was marked by frosty eyes and lips, and thick lip liner gave pouts an edge. Brown lips embodied the ’90s, and thin brows were trendy.
Balletcore
Celebrity makeup artist Emily Grey says balletcore is inspired by ballerina gear. Think ballet-inspired pastel tones and matte and glossy pink, white, and cream.
Balletcore enhances natural beauty with modest yet effective tweaks. I have seen the trend done really naturally and somewhat more glam, but to imitate a balletcore look, apply plenty of cream or powder blush, advises Grey.
Jellyfish haircut
Expect more iterations of the viral Jellyfish hairstyle, which resembles the undersea monster. Celebrity hairdresser and texture expert Sophie Gutterman says the effect is two unconnected haircuts. “The top section has a bowl cut that frames the face, while the bottom section has long layers,” says the hairdresser. I believe young and older ladies will want to try this fun cut in 2025 since it’s unusual and enables you express yourself more than other cuts.”
AI beauty
AI in beauty & cosmetics is a multibillion-dollar sector. Experts expect it will hit US$13 billion by 2030 due to strong expansion. Clockwork MiNiCURE, the first completely automated polish change robot, is an example. More enterprises will use robots to speed up and lower the cost of manicures and eyelash extensions.
Blue all around
Blue is intriguing and flexible, available in brilliant electric blues and delicate pastels. Olivia Van Iderstine, Olive & June’s VP of content and creative and trend analyst, predicts blue manicures for spring.
Blue mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadows are very popular for drawing attention. “Blue makeup isn’t just a colour; it’s a statement with endless possibilities, so make it uniquely yours!” adds Redzikowski. Enhance your lashes with electrifying blue. Make a dramatic wing or use baby blue eyeshadow.”
Mermaidcore
Mermaidcore is a timeless beauty trend with marine overtones. Mermaidcore makeup is fanciful, beautiful, and fairy-like, reflecting and playing with light. Makeup artist and beauty instructor Nicky Posley suggests a dazzling eyelid, cheek, or lip.
According to IGK NYC stylist Olya Ludina, mermaidcore hair includes a wet-look finish, mermaid waves, pearl or seashell accents, and fishtail braids that give off tide-slicked vibes. “Anyone can pull off a mermaidcore hairstyle; it’s all about being creative and channelling ocean vibes, pastel colours, and accessories,” explains hairdresser Raven Hurtado.
