Ratan Naval Tata opened his eyes on 28th December 1937 to Naval Tata. He was mainly raised and brought up by his grandmother. Rata tata completed his studies in campion school in Mumbai till his 8th standard then moving on in his life he went to New York to complete his further studies in Riverdale country school. He had a thirst for education which forced him to take part in a seven-week advanced management program at Harvard business school. His life took a turn when j. r. d tata took his hands off the tata son’s chairman position, leaving him to take over the power and responsibility of the most renowned company. He was a phenomenal inspiration and a dedicated businessman who flooded the revenue of tata group with profits over fifty times. Some of his great market tactics included capturing the jaguar land rover under tata motors and taking in Corus under tata steel. his legal battles with the Cyrus Mistry brought a change in his life and are considered a very powerful movement of his life.
Ratan tata has an endless urge to provide the best education, medicine, and treatment to the people who are deprived of it. His major investments are leaned towards a good cause that will bring change to our society. His tata education and development trust grant millions of scholarships throughout the world to support young and bright minds. Not only this but over fifty million dollars was donated by the tata group of companies to a charity for construction at Harvard business school. Our beloved ratan tata was awarded numerous awards and honours, the major ones include:
- Padma Bhushan in 2000
- Padma Vibhushan in 2008
- honorary doctorate in science by IIT madras
There are many more achievements of rata tata that are beyond words. He was a great supporter of innovation and experiments, that is the reason he launched the first-ever mini car in India named Tata Nano. The main motive to launch the car was the safety of people. In India many people cannot afford a car hence they use the bike to travel through the city, which becomes dangerous when four to five people are sitting without safety, tata nano was brought to provide complete protection and safety while giving the price of a motorcycle. He is a true role model to learn from and our generation should learn from his life lessons. A fine quote by ratan tata says, “I don’t believe in taking the right decision I take decisions and make them right.” In his interview, he was once asked about the secret of his success and all he had to say was working hard with smartness can give us unexpected results, before being scared to take a leap imagine how beautiful it will be to see the world as a better place. He had always paid emphasis on hard work and effort.
Rata tata had also crossed paths with love, he stated that on his trip to Los Vegas he met a girl and fell in love with her but dur her family issues she was not able to come with him to India and so he states that till date he remains unmarried for her. He had a really simple life and he thrives to help others and make a difference in this whole wide world. The net worth of rata tata including all his business platforms is around one billion dollars. There are a few fun facts that you might not know about him, ratan tata flies in economy class, he is as simple as any man in India. He also worked as an employee in his own company! Can you believe this? He also stood up against fake news that was being circulated during the time of covid because he condemns any fake actions in terms of health. During the critical times of the pandemic, he gave a hundred crores to fight COVID. His attachment to heath is seen in this act.
When we talk about billionaires, an automatic image is printed in our minds that they must be rude and can do anything to stay in their position but ratan tata is a definition of simplicity, he even sits next to his driver. All that is left to say is he is the pride of our country and shall stay that way for generations to come.
