Competitive exams play an important role in the educational field,mostly they help to shape careers of students, because they guide the students in specialized career fields, out of the education field these exams may contribute to professional and personal growth.success in these exams may open great academic and career opportunities because these exams may be entry exams of a particular college or university,competitive exams hold significance in education and professional landscape.Some important competitive exams include:UPSC,JEE,SSC,GATE,IBPS,GRE,SBI PO,NDA,IIFT among others.The following paragraphs will talk about the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 

  1. Significance Of The GATE Exam:

The GATE exam is one of the most valued exam in India,intended to assess students’ proficiency in fields such as Engineering and Science.This exam holds some subjects such as Operating Systems, Computer Organization and Architecture, Computer Networks, and Programming and Data Structures.Clearing GATE can open up excellent job opportunities with prestigious organizations such as BHEL, IOCL, ONGC, SAIL, NTPC, HPCL, PGCIL, BARC, and others.  The GATE exam opens up various opportunities for higher education and career growth. It can help you secure admission in top institutions of India for M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. programs, and also increase your chances of getting a job in many PSUs 

2.The Detailed Pattern Of GATE Exam 

The GATE exam is a 100-mark online test with 65 questions divided between general aptitude (10) and subject-specific (55).The gate exam can be also provided for various branches. There will be 55 questions from the core discipline and Engineering Mathematics, in addition to the 10 questions from the General Aptitude syllabus. Each of the 25 questions will be worth one mark, while the remaining 30 will be worth two marks each.

3.The Organizers, Reputation, and Affiliations:

Conducted jointly by IISc and 7 IITs on behalf of the National Co-ordination Board. In India thousands of people join this exam because it is challenging yet rewarding test.The GATE score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate education.

4.EligibilityCriteria and Prizes:

Gate exam all people of all nationalities to participate in this exam,for qualification Candidates must have passed graduation in engineering/technology or Master’s degree in any relevant science subject.There is no age limit and attempt limit.No cash prize is given to any GATE topper from the GATE organizing institute,Director of the organizing institute (IITs & IISc) calls the winners to congratulate them.

5.Syllabus, Reference Books, and Study Materials:

There are some reference books that can aid a participant in the Gate exam, the following are some of the books and their respective authors : Highway Engineering( Khanna and Justo ),Open channel flow and engineering hydrology( K Subramanya ) and soil mechanism and foundation engineering( Gopal and Ranjan ). Some GATE Study Material  include : algorithm, fluid mechanics, GATE question papers among other. GATE has many syllabuses like syllabus of Chemistry, Aerospace engineering , Agriculture engineering, Computer science engineering and so on.

6. Tips from Experienced Individuals: 

There are some experienced Gate exam participants one of them is “Lokesh Walase” . One of the tip she said that helped me was the tim when she said her strategies she said “ My aim would be to solve as many questions as possible with accuracy & calmness. No hurry but also no slagging. If any question is taking more than 15 mins, skip brutally.”

7.Sharing Experiences:

I recently followed more about Gate exams some shared to me some experiences saying this exam is hard but gives prizes but also one word from Lokesh Walase she said “There will be so many moments during the exam, when you will be stuck on a question. This minute you feel you are almost close to answer & then next minute you realize you are not.”
