Travel place should be one where one experiences solace and bliss. Places which relieve one of stress and monotony and provide great solitude and tranquility are a dream for everyone to visit. What can be better than India’s temples, which are incredible in this regard?

Nidhivan is where Krishna and his beloved Radha come every night for the Raas Leela. Raas leela should not merely be understood as a mundane dance, but it is divine- the rendezvous of Lord and the devotees.

Have you ever heard of musical pillars? Doesn’t it sound interesting as much as it seems to defy logic? Well, Vitthala Temple, located in Hampi, continues to intrigue people around the world for its musical pillars. Lord Vitthala is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

A temple of Lord Ganesha in Kanipakam village in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, will pique your interest. The idol of Ganesha is believed to grow in size fay by day. Does it sound anything less than a miracle?!

Konark temple has been constructed in the shape of a magnificent chariot. It, aming others, is architecturally marvelous.

The Char Dham Yatra is considered ineffably pious and consists of Dwarkadhish temple in Dwarka city in Gujarat, Jagannatha Puri in Odisha, Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and Badrinath. Badrinath Temple in Uttarakhand, despite being situated at a great altitude on the banks of Alaknanda river, does not deter devotees from visiting it.

Devotees worship Goddess Parvati by the name of Goddess Meenakshi at the Meenakshi temple on the banks of Vaigai River in Madurai in Tamil Nadu.

‘Pindis’ Or representations of Goddess Maha Kali, Devi Saraswati and Mata Lakshmi are a sight to behold in the sacred Vaishno Devi Temple, in the Trikuta mountains near Jammu.

Scriptures reveal incredible facts. According to a popular belief, a Shakti Peetha was established wherever the various parts of the body of Mata Sati (wife of Lord Shiva) fell. Some of these include Kalighat temple, Mangala Gauri, Kamakhya Devi, Jogulamba Devi, etc

Have you heard of something which was constructed from top to bottom, instead of the conventional architectural practice of constructing a building from bottom to top? Sounds incredible, right! Kailasha Temple of Ellora in Maharashtra is one of the cave temples, which was carved from top to bottom. It resembles Mount Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva.

Various other temples include Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati temple in Pune city of Maharashtra, Lord Vishnu Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia, Pashupatinath temple in Nepal, etc.

To conclude, the essay pays obeisance to all the pilgrimages across the world and respects all cultures.
