Small and medium companies that are involved in manufacturing face a lot of challenges in terms of high costs, lack of skilled labour, infrastructure gaps etc. For them, BOM is a basic necessity to keep a track of things. Big joints working in complex environments must have a BOM documentation in place every single day. Then only, they can work efficiently. Also, expertise bring to the table by change management team can decide the success of change in the organization.
However, BOM comes with its own challenges. Inconsistency in data entering can defeat the very purpose of it. Keeping all the stakeholders on the same page like access to the correct version is another challenge. During changes in the processes, strategies and while dealing with changing variables, maintaining accurate data is a tough task. Addressing these issues makes the manufacturing company derive full benefits from BOM.
