As of 2024, the world already witnessed events that had shape history. The year had been filled with moments of pride, challenges, and opportunities that remind us of humanity’s resilience and ability to adapt. From sporting victories to political shifts, and from cultural milestones to global crises, 2024 promises to be a year of transformation.Millions of fans felt that pride and were joyful when the ICC Cricket World Cup was won for India. While participating in Paris 2024 Olympics, the country had another win by Neeraj Chopra – securing a silver medal in the javelin throw. Shooter Manu Bhaker also made her history by being a two-time Olympic gold medal winner, proving that Indian people are making progress in the Olympics arena. Such victories boost the nation but bring together people also in celebration at large.
January 22, 2024, became a historic day for India with the Prana Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.This grand event symbolized the culmination of a long-standing dream and brought together millions in faith and devotion. Globally, political changes also made headlines. Donald Trump was re-elected as U.S. President, making history as the first leader since Grover Cleveland to serve non-consecutive terms. In Sri Lanka, the National People’s Power party won a landslide victory, bringing hope for new leadership and progress.
Brazil, as the host of the G20 Summit .in 2024, has taken center stage. The summit is focusing on global issues like poverty, sustainable development, and renewable energy, showcasing the world’s commitment to tackling pressing challenges.
Meanwhile, extreme weather events have become more frequent. Southeast Asia faced severe flooding, while parts of Europe battled devastating wildfires. These incidents underline the urgent need to combat climate change and adapt to its impact. Encouragingly, countries are taking steps to address these issues, such as investing in renewable energy projects and cleaner technologies.
