Hollywood, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, USA is considered as the heart and soul of the American Film Industry and entertainment business. Established in 1910, Hollywood’s global box office share is massive, with major studios like Disney, Universal, Warner Bros., and Sony earning approximately 100 Billion dollars annually through box office collections and other revenue streams. As of today, Hollywood has become a symbol for the film industry and a home to the most influential actors of the industry.
Throughout the history of Hollywood, thousands of actors have been referred to as ‘stars’, from different evolving eras. From the silent era of Charlie Chaplin, to Marilyn Monroe to today’s stars Tom Holland and Rami Malek. New stars are made each year, while others fade from the spotlight as stardom is continuously evolving. Out of the thousands of careers launched by Hollywood, some actors through their versatile acting, their charisma and authenticity have been the top entertainers in the industry with their careers spanning over decades. Leonardo DiCaprio has been in the acting industry for roughly about 3 decades and is and has been a worldwide sensation. Since then, good strategic career choices and films with great storylines, and impeccable performances by Leo have made him an internationally audience favourite actor. Leo’s presence as an environmentalist to work towards saving the environment and helping create a sustainable planet for the future has also been in the limelight. His acting in the movie ‘The Revenant’ which focuses on man vs nature got him his long awaited Oscar Academy Award. Robert’s comeback in Hollywood as Iron Man is considered as one of the greatest comebacks. He is known for his witty performances and indulging deep in the characters that he plays on screen. From troubled times to Triumph, being a risky choice for Marvel, Robert didn’t only prove his talent but laid the benchmark for the biggest superhero franchise of the industry.

Coming from a line of Samoan wrestlers, Dwayne started off as a football player and then moved on to wrestling. The Rock, being an 8 time WWE champion, is considered as one of the greatest wrestlers. His main crossover to Hollywood has established him as a versatile actor involving different comedy, action and adventure roles. From having $7 in his account while starting off in wrestling as ‘The Rock’ to being the highest paid Hollywood actor, Dwyane is considered as in inspiration by many. His testosterone filled roles don’t fail to amaze the audiences’ eyes till date.

Showing a very keen interest in the performing arts since a very young age, Emma stone convinced her parents to let her pursue acting as a career at the age of 15. From small television to winning 2 academy awards, Emma Stone is considered as one of the best actresses in Hollywood. Her transformations and versatile selection of roles have put her in the Hollywood spotlight. Emma is known for some of her best performances in La La Land, The Amazing Spider Man and Poor things. She has also explored darker roles and has now taken on production responsibilities.

The term ‘Entertainers’ is not restricted to actors only. Filmmakers are an integral part of the Hollywood industry, and Chris Nolan is one of the most famous ones out there! Arguably considered as one of the greatest directors of all time, Christopher Nolan has graced the audience with some jaw dropping works such as The dark Knight series, Interstellar, Inception, Oppenheimer and many more. Known for his attention to detail, complex ideas and different themes, his recent Oscar win for Oppenheimer was considered a win well deserved and long due.
Hollywood, acting as a bridge has connected the world to different kinds of entertainment. It is a place that gives life to imagination and puts it in front of audiences. With changes in cameras to different outfit styles to different type of entertainment, Hollywood remains forever evolving and keeping up with the current world. Stories once limited to small areas are available to each and every corner of the world. The glamour, the lights, cameras and all the action put into one place – Hollywood.
