YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram are platforms where they can showcase anything they want. With their hobby of creating video content, they can even earn a significant income — sometimes exceeding the minimum wage. The more videos they upload, the more income they generate.
Gen Z’s presence in the entertainment world is growing rapidly. They no longer rely on traditional media like television or cinema. Just by using a phone camera, they can become overnight stars. In fact, top celebrities can be outshined by content creators thanks to their creative output.
The difference between Gen Z content creators and previous generations lies in how they communicate through video. Gen Z prefers to be honest and authentic in their reviews or messages. Viewers tend to enjoy content that feels relatable to their daily lives.
Interestingly, gen z doesn’t just make entertainment videos about music, comedy or what’s going viral. They also make video content by inserting educational messages in it. For example, they make videos talking about local culture, politics, or tutorials of any kind.
Looking to the future, gen z in the entertainment world is growing rapidly. With the development of tools such as AI, gen z can find many content ideas that can be searched in AI. So they have the ability to learn independently on the internet. Many gen z content creators can edit just by looking at videos on YouTube. Therefore, nowadays there is no reason why you can’t because there are so many platforms that teach and are easy to understand.
These platforms not only contain entertainment content, but also a lot of endorsement content or collabs with other people. From there, they can generate a lot of income from endorsements and viewers on the video. They make video content that only requires a cellphone camera and can be done only in the room.
Being a content creator also has an impact. They have to face hate comments that differ from their opinions. They must be mentally and physically strong. Even as a result of this impact, many content creators subscribe to psychology to always consult about their mental health. This impact is very influential for their health which can trigger illness as well.
Another impact of being a content creator is that they also have to be smart in financial management. Because this platform depends on algorithms and monetization from sponsors. And they must be more vigilant in storing personal data and privacy protection. Lots of content creators are victims of fraud or misused personal data. This is very detrimental to content creators and people who are deceived.
Gen Z content creators are not just a fleeting phenomenon. They are the heralds of a new era of more community-oriented entertainment. They show that anyone can entertain, anyone can be heard, as long as they have something authentic to share. In an ever-changing world, Gen Z proves that power is no longer about social position or industry connections. And from there, the world of entertainment will never be the same again.
Popularity no longer comes from the “top down”, but rather grows “bottom up”. A trend can emerge from independent content that suddenly goes viral. A song can become a global hit because it’s used in thousands of TikTok videos. A brand can rise-or fall-because it is supported or criticized by these creators. In other words, Gen Z doesn’t just create entertainment. They set the pace. They set the new standard of what is interesting, funny, inspiring or share-worthy.
Gen Z digital creators make their platforms not only for entertainment, but also for developing collective consciousness. They educate without being overbearing. They motivate without scaring. This is the new power of digital entertainment: its ability to influence without lecturing.

Since the content they put out there can influence people’s opinions, it’s important for creators to be aware of the consequences of any material they share.
