I want to share this summer’s travel experience. I haven’t travelled to anywhere from so long. My daily schedule was home to office and then office to home. I was not doing any exciting activity. Following this schedule was super overwhelming as I only had Sunday for myself and on Sunday you know parents ask us to clean the home and help them in house chores. I was getting irritated. So my father asked me to go for travelling. The motive of travel is chill and changing place for some time. We went to Delhi on Saturday night and I asked for 1 holiday.

I was super excited to go. I packed my bag with lots of favorite snacks. My mom packed sabji and chapattis for us and my favorite papad. Our train was at 10:45, we just reached there on time. I started eating my food. It tasted really yummy at that time. It was the 1st time I was travelling on the train in the night. So it was really difficult for me to sleep there. I was waiting for the morning.

I hardly slept at night and in morning I was feeling hungry so my father asked me what I want to eat? I have never eaten pakoras from the railway station so I asked for that. It was ok ok as the chutney they served was not good. Then I was waiting to reach Delhi. It was our 1st time visiting Delhi so we got confused at the way to metro station from railway station.

But finally we reach. Delhi is a beautiful place but while coming from the train I saw lots of garbage lots of plastic thrown in the way. There was a big stack of plastic. I really felt hurt after seeing lots of pollution. We are damaging and destroying the mother earth. I really liked the metro ride it was really good. The metro travels so fast and smoothly and it does not produce much noise. I saw various couples on my way even teenage couples. I really liked that how openly they are together, how openly they are expressing their thoughts and relationships.

Firstly we went to Gurudwara. We took bath there and worshiped for some minutes and then we ate the parshad that was khichdi, chapatti and dal. It was yummy. Then we went to explore the beauty of the Delhi and also for shopping. It was a really sunny weather on that day and I was sweating heavily.

I did some shopping from there. The prices were really generous and the variety was awesome. I bought a glass tumbler just for 100 from an old man who was sitting by the road side. I was really happy as it was the best deal of the day. After purchasing it I saw the same tumbler on other shops and asked them the price and I am telling you the truth I really bought it in the good price because all other sellers told the double price of it.

I also liked 1 crocodile tumbler. It was small and really eye catchy but it was for 300. Spending 300 on a small tumbler was not worth it so I moved on. I bought a pink t shirt from there and you won’t trust it. It was just for 150 and its fabric, design was adorable. I showed it to my bhua and masi everyone loved it. Even My boss’s mother liked it and asked its price.
I saw so many different species of birds and animals. I took pictures with some of them. I even took a white pigeon in my hand. There were so many cats, different colored parrots, other birds and a lot of species. I really loved them.

Delhi is a really great place for shopping if you have the capability to walk and carry all the stuff. Me and my father were not able to walk that fast. But my brother was super excited to go and visit all the places while walking. We were unable to match his speed so we were taking frequent breaks while enjoying buttermilk, roohafza and other cooling drink available at roadside. My brother was getting irritated by our breaks. After visiting some places there, we went to eat lunch.

My brother ordered chole bhature as he loves eating it. I on the other hand is a big lover of paneer and naan so me and my father ate naan with paneer butter masala and dal makhni, followed by rasgulla as a desert. And that was it we were tired and we just planned to have some rest. So we went to our room where my irritated brother scolded me. Why did you come to travel when the only things you want to do is rest and shopping? You can rest at home why did you come so far to rest? But I ignored him and slept.

Later at night we went outside for a walk ate some snacks and icecream. My father did not said no to anything that I picked. He said ok take it, you like it? Ok we are going to purchase it. I was so happy I tried so many different snacks and purchased a lot of stuff. We ate dinner from jain’s shop where we ate noodles with Manchurian, dosa, pav bhaji and my brother again ordered chole bhature. He and his love for chole bhature, oh god! Do not judge us by thinking who eats all this stuff in dinner. My father removed all the restrictions whatever you want to eat just eat, but don’t tell your mother.

I’m a foodie person with a small appetite. I want to taste everything. So I just order, taste it and then my father is the one who saves the food from getting wasted. The dinner was really nice. We were tired so we slept early. In the morning we met one of our relative there. We talked for some time went to visit some places with him. He was going to return in the afternoon. So we went to leave him to the station as our return train was at night so we just rested in the room for some time. Then I ate bread pakora it was really yummy. Although it was really heavy for me but I finished it on my own. It was just wah! For the dinner we ordered a thali that included rice, chole ki sabji, dal makhni, mix veg and chapatti.

That was all about our trip. We just ate, slept and did shopping. But this trip gave me so much pleasure. It told me to take care of my body by doing exercises as I was unable to walk much. I have learned a lot of new things. I travelled after so long. I really missed my home, my mom. I do not get along with my mom. But at this time I was missing her badly. All I wanted is to meet her and talk to her. After this trip I knew the value of home, what it means to have a roof on our head. I really thank God for all the things that I have- my parents, my job, my stuff, relatives, my home everything.

I really missed my person during the trip. While seeing the couples holding hands and expressing their thoughts, I really felt alone but it just gave me hope. In future we will be together and this time I’m not going to disappoint anyone. I will respect all the relations that I have my parents, my brother, him and my ancestors.
