TRAVELING TO SUKABUMI
On that day, my family and I were enjoying a semester break. We planned to stay in touch with one of our families in Sukabumi and take a vacation. We chose to use a car because it was more practical and we also wanted to enjoy the long journey while seeing the beautiful scenery along the way. We set off in the morning from Solo to avoid the traffic jams that usually occur in the semester holiday season.
The trip started with a sunny and cold atmosphere that made us excited to travel. We passed through the toll road which was quite smooth and comfortable. Inside the car we spent time telling stories, laughing, and listening to our favorite music which made the atmosphere more enjoyable. From this long trip, we can strengthen our kinship. We took several breaks at the rest area on the highway to rest and eat. We went to the gas station several times to fill up gasoline, it turns out that it takes a lot of gasoline expenditure during a long trip.
During the trip we also stopped by several typical food stalls in each city we passed. After that we continued our journey while enjoying the different scenery that we usually see in the city of Solo. After 8 hours of traveling we already felt bored and tired because the road had begun to jam. This trip was very tiring but gave us very valuable memories.
After 12 hours of traveling we finally arrived at our family home. We were very happy to have arrived safely in Sukabumi without missing anything. The city of Sukabumi welcomed us with cool and fresh air, making us feel comfortable and tired as if it just disappeared. When we arrived we were served with a cup of coffee and warm tea which made the atmosphere more comfortable. After that we were escorted to the room and invited to rest first.
After a few hours of rest we gathered in the family room to tell each other how we were during the trip and how our respective lives were because we had not met for a long time. And that morning we were treated to a breakfast of chicken porridge where we were often given chicken porridge, or is it that the city of Sukabumi is famous for chicken porridge? I don’t really like chicken porridge so I was given other food like chicken or fried rice.
In the afternoon we went for an afternoon walk around the village. The air was very fresh and cool, unlike in Solo where there is too much pollution because it is urban, while this was in the rural part of Sukabumi. We greeted the local people who were also out for an afternoon walk. Sometimes we didn’t understand what they were saying because they were using a Sundanese accent while we were using Javanese.
At night the weather was very cold so we spent a lot of time at home telling each other stories while accompanied by a cup of coffee and bread from which we felt warm. we were too busy telling stories to realize that it was late at night and all eyes were very tired. We decided to go back to our respective rooms to prepare our energy for the next day.
The next day we started our activities by jogging while enjoying the cool morning air. Along the way there were a lot of food stalls selling various foods such as chicken porridge, market snacks, green bean porridge, etc. And we decided to stop for breakfast at one of the chicken porridge stalls. Anyway, while there, there was not a single day that was missed from eating chicken porridge. After breakfast we continued jogging until we returned home.
Today is our last day in Sukabumi, we have been busy all day exploring several tourist destinations there, one of which is a waterfall. After a full day spent outside we returned home and prepared to go home tomorrow. We packed all the luggage and checked one by one what items we brought so that nothing was left behind. We intended to return to Solo in the morning after dawn.
When dawn came, we put all our luggage into the trunk of the car. And we said goodbye to our families and it was very hard to leave this village that gave us enough memories. We hope we can come back here for next year.
We started this trip by reading prayers so that everything would be smooth and safe until our destination. We took the time to have breakfast at alun alun sukabumi, and yes we bought chicken porridge again. After that we continued our journey and entered the toll road, when it was still morning like this the toll road was still very quiet and there was no traffic jam. In the car we spent time listening to music, telling stories, and enjoying the natural beauty that we passed every time, occasionally we also took photos for memories.
After several hours of traveling, we finally arrived safely in Solo in the evening. We immediately unloaded all our luggage from the trunk into the house. After that we immediately clean ourselves and then immediately rest because our bodies are very tired after spending more or less a day in the car. This year’s semester break vacation was very valuable for us, because it was the first time we experienced a long trip by car. Hopefully in the next year we can repeat this story again and can stay in touch again in Sukabumi.
Thank you to our family in Sukabumi for welcoming us and giving us a comfortable place to stay. We hope that our family in Sukabumi can also come to Solo to see the beauty of Solo. See you next time, hopefully we can still meet in the years ahead. Warm greetings from the solo family to the sukabumi family. See you and nice to meet you.
