Like other families, my family is providing the best efforts they can as possible as a family to me. As a teenager, I believe that every teenager especially needs their family’s support to the fullest. For this reason, I would like to review my family in different aspects and what my family members do to support me. My father is the primary money source who supports me from the financial side; my mother makes the family food and takes emotional care when my mood is really down; my brother has the humor and is one the most I ever talk to among the family members, and myself probably the reason why I am in this position right now surrounded by many good people. In terms of my family itself, my family moves as one even though our bodies are separated, and our spirits will always be together, hoping for each other’s best.

First, my father is the primary source of money for my family. He made all of my family’s dreams come true. If it weren’t for him, our family would have never left Korea and witnessed the bigger picture of the rest of the world. For example, my father’s job is to leave his home country and sell LG Air Conditioners. And to stay as one family, we all have to go out to foreign countries and be there for each other. My father works really hard for our family. Our family depends on him, and he depends on us, too. Thanks to him, I can live my life with convenience. Whenever I feel depressed, he and my mother always cheer me up. In the physical way, he does not hesitate to buy me anything I lack, especially when it is related to school.

Second, my mother. She sacrifices half of her life to raise my younger brother and me. She had hurt her back when she used to do Ballet in her youth, so she wasn’t at her full-est when raising me and a little brother. For example, I vividly remember when I was 7 or 8, my mother would pound her back because the water jugs were too heavy to carry; my younger brother and I helped her. Just seeing this, it gives me pain to experience having a sour back but to take care of 2 little children who had no idea what they were doing. Still, these days, her back hurts due to the old Ballet injury, and the whole family is trying its best to help her carry on; my mother, like any other mother out there, expects a lot from me, which sometimes gives me pressure, and sometimes, reminds me of responsibility when my father is out on a business trip. My mother tries her best to make me have a sustained life.

Thirdly, my younger brother. He is the only person I can fully trust and someone to talk with, even in some private conversations. Sometimes, we share stressful stories, and sometimes, we make each other feel joyful. For instance, he and I often play the same mobile game, strengthening our brotherhood’s bond. Unlike any other family members, who are basically two adults, my younger brother is the guy missing a tooth and always has a joyful character. It looks like he is doing fine, but he also has his own problems. He and I share similarities, like knowing a lot of jokes, having many friends, and always knowing when to back up each other when needed. He is also a power source when he and I meet each other in school hallways. It just really cheers me up when my little brother says Hi. Even my friends adore my little brother and say that I  should be more like him.

Fourthly, myself, Yongwon.  I have accomplished many life goals unexpectedly due to our family. I was really just a toddler when I was a little primary schooler. I had no friends and would always end up having my teacher mad at me, but humans learn from their mistakes. I find out when to interfere in a conversation or when not to. I also find out what games and social media apps are trending these days and try to fit into society as a social member. I have changed myself a lot. I also struggled a lot in attempting to follow up on my education in school. I never gave up and kept trying, trying enough until I could finally have a stable grade.

Finally, the Kweon family itself. This family knows the morals and always knows how to respect each other. Father and Mother never let me or my little brother cause any harm to any other people, and little brother and I admire that. The Kweon family always has resilience, meaning that even though we hurt each other mentally or physically, we always laugh at each other. The entire family does whatever it takes to help me to do anything. They are actively supportive and understanding. I have seen other families who have never had the same circumstances as my family. I should take this once-in-a-lifetime chance gratefully and cherish it.

In conclusion, my family is imperfect, but I love my family. My father is the main money source of supporting my family and gets a lot of stress, and my mother is the caretaker and the food maker of this family, but she has her old Ballet injury. My little sibling has humor and always makes my day. I myself build it step by step to form the foundation of my basic social life and my family. If it weren’t for the strong force that creates the strong bond between us 4, we wouldn’t have made it this far. Our family does have its own benefits, but there are also some disadvantages. What is life? We should move on, make those disadvantages a turning point in our lives, and support each other as one. I should always be grateful and treat my family with care and kindness because we do everything for each other.
