January 1st is considered the start of a new chapter in life for many. Thus many people around the world celebrate this day; people set new goals for themselves and take this day as an opportunity to start a new lifestyle. Therefore, people need a holiday break to prepare for and materialize these ambitions.

A holiday break will improve their productivity and physical and mental well-being and encourage them to learn and start new things. Since many wish to be better individuals in the new year, it is crucial to have a holiday break before January 1st.

First, people need a holiday break to improve their performance in life in the following year. From the perspective of students, if they were to start school several days before January 1st, they would be unable to kickstart the new year on good terms. Students would not have enough time to set goals and plan out their new year due to studying for exams and completing assignments. Therefore students must get a short break to focus and perform well at school.

A holiday break using attractive packages such as fiji holiday packages before the new year allows people to reflect on their past and strengthens them to become better people. For instance, through self-reflection, people will be better aware of their strengths and weaknesses, motivating them to enhance their strengths and explore ways to grow in areas of improvement. Without a break, many would burn out and suffer from stress and reduced productivity. Hence, making it impossible for people to increase their performance in life and duties.

On the other hand, people, especially students, can focus on one thing over the break such as a certain assignment to improve their results regarding that task. There might be a project that’s due after a few days after the new year. Using the few weeks available during the holiday break, students can work on that particular assignment and be able to produce a higher quality of work compared to when they would spend less time working on the project.

In addition, if students feel like they need to improve on a particular subject, they can focus on only studying for that one subject. Since holiday breaks are opportunities to entirely focus on one thing, many people can benefit from this opportunity and improve their performance.

Furthermore, holiday breaks offer people a “fresh start” to the new year by improving their physical and mental well-being. Not only are holiday breaks time to enjoy and celebrate, but it is also the time to break free from our busy lives. This short period provides the time to reevaluate what is essential in our lives and connect back to our values—for example, spending time with family and friends or engaging in fun activities.

Most people cannot realize how disconnected they are from their families. Therefore, some can devote this time to their loved ones, as maintaining close ties with family members is an important mechanism for coping with mental stress. A holiday break at the cusp of the new year can refresh distressed minds and help people enjoy a fresh start to the new year.

In addition, holiday breaks are an opportunity to learn new things and prepare for the new year. People can step out of their comfort zones and travel to distant places; through traveling, people can learn about different cultures, lifestyles, values, and beliefs. In addition, interacting with people of diverse backgrounds can enrich people’s lives by allowing them to understand other people’s perspectives and reflect on their past.

Later, as people return to their roles and places, such as school and workspaces, in the new year, they can apply the interactive skills they learned from their past experiences to create a better way of living.

Having a holiday break before the kickstart of the new year brings numerous advantages in developing a person as a whole. Many believe that breaks are unnecessary because they can disrupt people’s progress toward becoming a better individual in all aspects. In reality, it is the opposite.

It improves people’s physical and mental well-being, which also leads to a considerable improvement in people’s productivity. Not only does this apply before the new year, but holiday breaks, in general, are needed and essential. People can regain their potential and energy to show better performance in the following year since it is almost everyone’s number one goal to lead better lives and become better individuals than before.
