In the first place, I will like to inform the audience of my great pleasure to be a partaker of the essay titled: “One Sportsman who created or made history”   Really, this kind of essay is more or less of narrative essay.  In the same vein, I want to define two terms as in the essay topic above, before discussing other aspect of the essay at all.  Those terms include: ”Sportsman and history”.   A  Sportsman is an athlete who specializes in sport activity or activities, such as: soccer, volleyball, handball, table-tennis, badminton, hockey game etc. (Longman Active Dictionary).   Conversely, the term “history” may be referred to as a written account of the past events or record of something that someone has experienced in the past (Oxford Dictionary).

Secondly, in this paragraph, I want to call spade a spade.   I mean I want to mention the sportsman really, as far as his biography is concerned.  An adage says: “The ball always looks for the best player”.  This sport proverb is reminding me of a re-known sportsman whose name is Carlos Ruiz, a base baller.  Of course, this paragraph will mainly showcases the biography of the  sportsman in question, popularly known as Carlous.  At seven-year-old, Ruiz resolved to play in the big leagues after both his father and mother died within two weeks of each other.  Carlous made his way via the Phillies farm system from 1999 until 2006, he  was playing at each level of Minor League Baseball[MiLB), Joaquin soon fulfilled his childhood dream, making his MLB debut with the 2006 Phillies.   Carlous battled adversity in his progression in form of  homesick feeling, position change, and the language barrier.  He spoke pure English Language.   Ruiz the sportsman in question spent his first full season in the year 2007, and he remained there until he left the mariners, electing free agency after 2007 season.   In the year 2008, for his string postseason performance,  including a walk-off hit, during the Phillies play off run, that concluded with victory in the year 2008 World Series, Ruiz earned with victory in the nickname “Senior Octubre”, which is interpreted as Mr October.   Ruiz is the only player in the history of the NL to catch four no-hitters, and one of the only two catchers in the entire Major League Baseballer.   Joaquin Ruiz grew up in David Chiriqui, Panama.  He was the oldest of three sons.  Ruiz father was a police officer, while his mother was an Elementary School Teacher (Lower Basic School).  An English proverb says: “He who leaves the game loses the game”.  Carlous Ruiz  is still in the game and he has not  lose the game until now.   Carlous Ruiz is still in the game until today, although, in the year 2013, he began the season with a 25-game suspension for using Adderall, and subsequently spent time in the disabled list, ultimately playing in former than hundred games for the first time of his MLB career.

Moreover, I want to use this medium to discuss about Ruiz Joaquin Carlous achievement.  Ruiz played in Major Leaque Baseball(MLB) for the Philadephia Phillies, Los Angeles Didgers, and Seatles Manners.  Joaquin Leaque Baseball debut was in May 2006, for the Philadephia Phillies.  The last Major Leaque Baseball appearance was on September 30th, 2017, for the Seatle Mariners.  Ruiz was able to make it to Philadephia Phillies team in the year 2006-2016, that is, Los Angeles Dodgers 2016, and Seatle Mariner 2017.  Ruiz Career highlights and awards include: all-star in the year 2012, and World Series Champion 2008.  Ruiz has his best season in 2012, holding a battling average of over 300, earning of first appearance in the All Star Game, and finishing in the top 30 of the New found Land and Labrador (NL), most valuable player (MVP) voting.  In 1998, Ruiz followed his dream of playing professional Baseball Academy in Lavega, Domician Republic, where he played on Catcher for the first time, moving from his initial position of second base.

In conclusion, an unknown and interesting things about Ruiz is actually his natural leadership skills which flourished.  “ A little stroke fell great”  Ruiz,  who had chosen to play with baseballs instead of toys ears,  even as a toddler was always the one in his neighborhood to organize pick-up baseball games. Oh yes, “The ball always looks for the best player.”  Carlos Ruiz was the best player. Actually, Ruiz was the only player in the history of the Newfound Land (NL) to catch four no-hitters, and one of the only two catchers  in the entire MLB.
