Importance of creating and sticking to a budget as a teenager
As a stage of life teenage is known for its unboundedness. By unboundedness it is meant that, at this stage of life human mind’s wishes, desires and expectations of life are sky-rocketing. During teenage the adage,’ sky is the limit ‘seems to be futile. Therefore, in teenage human needs, in most of the cases, seems to have no limits.
Many reasons may be cited for it. Among them, the most potent reason seems to be the optimum level of fluctuations of bodily hormones. So, the restlessness among teenage children to amass all the pleasures of life sometimes, in many cases seems to derail their life from the proper track and thus adding to their life’s anarchy and chaos.
At the same time, we all the members of the society must remember that, the present-day world is driven as well as controlled by money and money motives. The teenage children’s life is not untouched by this fact of life. On the one hand, the needs and desires of life of these teenagers are unbounded while, on the other hand their monetary considerations are limited to a large extent.
Hence, in this money-driven world teenagers must draw a proper and suitable ‘Lakshman Rekha’ between what they want to achieve and amass in their lives and what their limitations so far as possession of money in their lives are concerned. Therefore, the teenagers of the contemporary society irrespective of geographical boundaries must be able to make or bring about a coherence between their desires of life and the ability to fulfill them in the long run.
In this way, the teenagers must be able to establish a coherent and stable balance between the body, mind and spirit in their personal life thereby making their lives worthy of living. It is in this light of the fact that, “the importance of creating and sticking to a budget as a teenager plays its own important role in their lives.
In this process, these teenagers must be able to understand the significance and importance of ‘money’ in their lives. Money and monetary considerations must be analyzed by these teenagers as their needs of lives and in this process, they should not be guided by the motive of greed. The temptation for more and more money can certainly turn their vision towards life myopic thereby, bringing in misfortune in their lives.
The well-known couplet relating to the functions of money namely—
“Money is a matter of functions four.
A medium, a measure, a standard, a store “
must be kept in mind by these teenagers in their lives. Money must be perceived by the teenagers in such a way that, with the passage of time, money drifts them towards a brighter and grandeur aspect of life. These teenagers must be cautious about the fact that wise and economical use of money can certainly enhance their personality. Thus, a feeling of contentment with regards to the desire to possess money is the key for the teenagers to lead them towards a contended life.
Moreover, creating a budget by the teenagers and sticking to it can certainly help them in diverting their lives towards happiness. Creating a budget by the teenagers in their lives must be inculcated in their personality so that, their emerge a correlation between their needs and desires of life and the ability and capacity to fulfill them. Money can certainly be the driving force of life for these teenagers provided they use money in a decent manner.
On the contrary, misuse of money by the teenagers can certainly produce doldrums in their lives. Monetary considerations have certainly been the pivotal aspect of teenage life since time immemorial. Moreover, creating a budget by the teenagers must be analyzed as an aspect of personality development by these teenagers. Creating a budget by the teenagers and sticking to it can certainly make their lives worth living.
This is due to the fact that, the idea of creating a budget at teenage so far as their expenses are concerned can lead them towards a calculated and economical outlook towards their finances in their future life. In the long run budget creation by the teenagers can certainly be inculcated by the guidance and scrutiny of their parents and their well-wishers. If their parents and well-wishers imbibe the motto of creating and sticking to a budget themselves then the teenagers of the society too certainly will have the tendency to imitate their parents and well-wishers. The dictum, ‘as you sow, so shall you reap’ is highly relevant in this regard.
Moreover, the educational institutes of these teenagers too have their own role in helping them in inculcating the habit of creation of budget and sticking to it. This is because educational institutes of these teenagers act as the mirror for them in the formation of their outlook towards the various domains of life. The domain of finance is not untouched by this phenomenon. Therefore, educational institutes of these teenagers must act as the foremost stepping stone in imbibing a calculative and economical outlook towards money and finances.
The immediate society in which these teenagers survive and strive upon too have its own role in shaping their outlook towards the various financial aspects of life. The surrounding environment in which these teenagers’ lives can certainly impact them in having a coherent viewpoint towards monetary matters. The teenagers as a social animal too imitate the society and thus the society too has its own impact in helping them in creating a budget for themselves and implementing on it.
In a nutshell, the various facets of teenager’s life should aid and help them in having an outlook towards life and livelihood where, their personalities are an equal balance of neither being a miser nor a spendthrift. The teenagers of the society must make a budget and stick to it, in the sense that, in this effort of theirs the goals of their lives must turn out to be achievable and affordable. The teenagers in this way must make their lives full of happiness with the passage of time.
At the same time, these teenagers must turn out to be someone to be imitated upon by the tiny-tots or, in other words the generation next. The new generation of tiny-tots must feel themselves to be secured enough before these teenagers so far as monetary issues of their lives are concerned. In other words, the generation next of tiny-tots must find the teenagers to be their friend, philosopher and guide.
In this development the ultimate gainer will be the whole of the world being, writ large. The repercussions of this development will certainly be felt among the generations to come. A new era of financial propriety will certainly emerge with the passage of time. This development in the human beings will certainly make them more humane. Further, it will act as a deterrent against the prevalent anarchy and chaos in the world and thus making the world a better place to live in.
