These days more and more people want to change the world to be more beautiful, and comfortable without the smoke of vehicle pollution which emits more polluting smoke, so more and more advanced technology and develop over time. Likewise, vehicles are widely used by people for traveling, but the more vehicles there are, the more pollution smoke is released, therefore many vehicle companies release their newest products that are definitely environmentally friendly.
To start with, these two vehicles both have differences as well as their respective advantages and disadvantages, it’s just up to you to decide which one is right for you. First, A hydrogen car is a car with hydrogen fuel (hydrogen fuel), which is a fuel without emissions that is used as fuel for electricity generation together with oxygen using a unit called a hydrogen fuel cell. The fuel cell is an electrochemical device that directly converts chemical energy into electrical energy which is a zero-emission fuel used as fuel for generating electricity together with oxygen using a unit.
The second is an electric car, an electric car is a vehicle that is fully or partially driven by a motor using electricity in the battery. The battery is rechargeable.
But whether hydrogen cars and electric cars are included in a friendly vehicle environment. When viewed from the results of the chemical reaction in this hydrogen car is just water vapor. So you could say hydrogen vehicles are vehicles that are very environmentally friendly. The electricity generated from the fuel cell is then used by an electric engine to spin the wheels of the car. Apart from small amounts of carbon dioxide and water, there are no more gas emissions produced by hydrogen-fueled vehicles. This makes hydrogen an environmentally friendly fuel and does not cause air pollution and withstand extreme weather while electric cars are not.
Electric cars are also known as environmentally friendly cars because they can reduce carbon emissions that cause air pollution. But on the other hand, electric cars are also considered not environmentally friendly because they still use energy sourced from coal power plants which only reduce air pollution and turn into other pollution.
In terms of the benefits that we can get if we use the two cars, they tend to be the same, the engine sound is smoother, quieter, and not noisy. However, when compared to charging time for electric cars and hydrogen cars, hydrogen cars only need to go to the fuel station and take about 3-5 minutes, Fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) do not need to change behavior and these vehicles are long range and do not need home refueling or charging at home like an electric vehicle. So that when used daily, there is no need for major adjustments. Compared to electric vehicles that take 30 minutes to an hour to charge, the FCEV power supply can serve 10 vehicles in one hour.
Disadvantages of hydrogen cars Car maintenance costs will be much more expensive, and the place to refuel the car is also very minimal, This car also doesn’t have many choices because it doesn’t dare mass production, and takes a much space where all the components in a car engine are quite a lot and the technical complexity is quite large.
Meanwhile, electric cars are the same as hydrogen cars, they have the same minimum space for charging because not every public space in Indonesia has a charger for them, the workshop is also minimal, the distribution of spare parts for the car is limited, batteries are also expensive, the carrying capacity of electric cars only reaches 150 kg because this carrying capacity will affect the speed of the car and there are also environmental issues that people are discussing because the transition of vehicles with internal combustion engines to batteries is said to trigger massive global exploitation of lithium and nickel so that it can increase the ratio of exposure to hazardous and toxic materials (B3).
Even though a hydrogen car and an electric car are both environmentally friendly vehicles, they have differences along with similarities. they have a long difference in charging time, as well as differences of opinion about being environmentally friendly, but both cars have the same engine sound that is smoother, quieter, and quieter.
To sum up, vehicles are something that is quite important in our daily lives, and everyone has the right to choose what vehicle he wants to have, comfortable and also affordable. But people should also know about these vehicles because apart from being environmentally friendly, the comfort of the car’s design has also been made in such a way, it just depends on us which one we want to choose as well as our convenience.
