Gen Z’s actions in the pro-Israel product book show deep concern for global and humanitarian issues. According to the results of the Jakpat survey, the Gen Z age group cares the most about the act of purchasing pro-Israel products compared to other age groups. This concern reflects the values held firmly by this young generation, namely social justice and human rights. They use their consumer power to express their disapproval of policies that are considered unfair. By boycotting pro-Israel products, Gen Z hopes to provide significant economic pressure and encourage fairer policy changes. This shows that Gen Z is not only active on social media, but also in real actions that aim to create a positive impact in the world.
As many as 82% of respondents in the Gen Z group admitted to caring about and following the issue of boycotting pro-Israel products, a figure higher than 77% in the millennial group and 69% in the Gen X group. Gen Z’s concern reflects their high awareness of humanitarian issues, especially the conflict between Palestine and Israel which has claimed many lives. This conflict has become the main trigger for the increasing attention to global boycotts in recent months. Gen Z, with their wide access to information and social media, are able to understand the complexity of this conflict and respond with concrete actions such as boycotting products that they consider to support unjust policies. Their support for this boycott is not just symbolic, but also part of a collective effort to encourage social and political change that is more just and humane.
