Architecture has always played a vital role in every century and it is shaped according to the lifestyle of the people. From the ancient times to the present, unique architectures have always stolen the gazes of the people. Architecture is not just combination of bricks and cement but it is a creation and that’s why so many monuments are still standing magnificent against the test of time. In today’s time people take a lot of effort and planning to design their house and workspace according to their lifestyle. They expect a comfortable and calm atmosphere.
INFLUENCE OF HISTORICAL ARCHITECTURE ON OUR LIFESTYLE:
No body can deny that we cannot stop admiring the marvellous historical monuments or buildings. People feel by visiting these places they get joy and their minds get relaxed. Shah Jahan have built Taj Mahal for his beloved wife Mumtaz but he never thought that even hundreds of years later it stands tall as the symbol of true love. People are just spell bound just looking at this white beauty. In today’s world of relationships and break ups, architectures like these reminds people that eternal love exists.
INFLUENCE OF SPIRITUAL ARCHITECTURE ON OUR LIFESTYLE:
Every holy place has a unique architecture according to their religion. These places are designed in such a way that it gives calmness to the disturbed mind or hope to the depressed or peace to the wailing heart. That’s why most of the people when they feel stressed or worried, they just pay a visit to some holy place. These places are spacious, has natural light and most of all gives a divine feeling. One best example is the Golden Temple at Amritsar where it is designed to have four entrances which represents equality and symbolizes that all people are welcomed into this spiritual place.
INFLUENCE OF CULTURAL ARCHITECTURE ON OUR LIFESTYLE:
Culture highly influences architecture. It represents one’s traditions, values and beliefs. The Toda tribes of the Nilgiris still live in small hamlets called the Toda huts or Toda munds. They are thatched and are built with bamboo fastened with rattan. The hut has a tiny entrance at the front where people had to crawl inside the house. Not only that the front part of the hut is decorated with Toda art forms which is a kind of rock mural painting. Today, tourists come in large numbers to visit these cultural beauties. But sadly, with the developing technology people adopt modernity over culture in their architecture.
INFLUENCE OF NATURE ARCHITECTURE ON OUR LIFESTYLE:
At present, people mostly prefer to interwind nature and architecture. People are almost exhausted with tall buildings, polluted atmosphere and stressful life. They just need an escape and it can only be given by nature. That’s why most resorts and hotels are all built near natural environment. One highlighting factor is such that the buildings are designed in such a way that when one opens the window or stands in the balcony, the people experience an exhilarating view of nature. This helps people to relax from their hectic life. Not only the view, also the natural sunlight, fresh air and fully surrounded by greeneries gives a rejuvenate feeling. The buildings that are situated near seashores or beaches are designed in such a way where through windows or standing in the balcony people can enjoy the morning sunrise or evening sunset. This gives people one of the soothing and comforting experience.
INFLUENCE OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE ON OUR LIFESTYLE:
Nobody likes dark, stuffy and narrow spaces. It may apply to workspaces as well as to the place they are residing. That’s why with the evolution of technology people have adopted modern designs to make their workspace and home more comfortable to work and live. That’s why mostly buildings are designed in such a way where all the four sides are fixed with glasses just to make the workspace look bright and lively. It ensures that people work more productively in this atmosphere. Also, people building houses or looking to buy new houses, make sure that the house is spacious, has enough light coming in and there is proper ventilation. All these elements contribute to people’s health and mood and it in turn helps people to lead a very calm and cheerful life.
