The technological era which continues to progress day by day, has succeeded in creating new innovations to make it easier for humans to live their lives and explore the world. The various difficulties and challenges experienced are often used as the basic idea for creating a technology which is of course presented in a modern form so as not to be left behind by developments with the times. One of them, Augmented Reality or better known as AR, whose implementation can be said has several steps ahead from human capabilities. As a technology that combines the real world and virtual (digital) elements in real time, AR has succeeded in taking the attention of every pair of eyes to feel the experience by using it.
Now, AR has been applied to help people in various sectors of life, including health, education, entertainment, sports, military, property and manufacturing industries which introduce their products through AR applications. During its development, AR glasses were recognized as one of AR technologies that had the most significant progress, which represents a revolutionary change in the way humans interact with the world around them.
Apart from that, it is felt that it is more appropriate to be called AR smart glasses, because of the various superior, innovative and even cutting-edge features that this extraordinary object provides. This advanced thing not only provides an unrivaled experience for users, but also provides the answer to the difficulties experienced by normal people and those with special needs in living a full life.
Supported by its futuristic design, AR smart glasses are recognized as having great potential in its elaboration. AR smart glasses provide seamless interaction between the real and virtual worlds with high resolution and sharp visualization from the display. Apart from that, it is also able to project precise digital information directly into the user’s field of view without ignoring the surrounding environment through its transparent display.

Interactive features on AR smart glasses provide ease of interacting with technology ranging from responsive gesture identification, application control by the user, and flexibility in exploring virtual interfaces.
Then, the special feature provided by AR smart glasses is to transcribe conversations into text form and be able to translate them in real time which works with Google Translate. This feature is a promising feature in connecting the world through the process of understanding language when communicating, so it is very reliable to use when the communicator does not have the same language as the person speaking and for users with special needs such as deaf people who are helped through the conversation subtitles provided.
Generally, the high specifications of AR smart glasses include a camera, light and motion sensors, advanced processor, audio system, wireless connectivity up to 5G support, battery, ergonomic design, special operating system supporting AR applications and functionality, as well as high visual technology that provides AR experience is more immersive.
AR smart glasses are able to record events in the form of photos or videos by capturing the user’s field of view with a camera supported by a light sensor which is able to adjust the brightness of the user’s viewing screen with light levels of the surrounding environment. Followed by a motion sensor which is able to detect changes in the user’s movement and orientation, making it possible to use gestures or head movements to control the work of applications or devices on AR smart glasses.
All heavy tasks and data processing on these magic glasses are controlled by the advanced processor. AR smart glasses also provide a better multimedia experience with a high-quality audio system supported by wireless connectivity such as Bluetooth and WI-FI as well as fast internet access up to 5G. Created to be light and comfortable for use over a long period of time, the ergonomic design and battery also make this technology efficient to use.
If compared with the other technologies, AR smart glasses are able to serve a hands-free experience that provides easy, fast and flexible access to the information needed without interfering with physical activities, which also replaces the role of handheld devices, so that users can increase productivity and comfort because of the minimal distractions that will be caused. This also makes users more adaptive to differences in existing situations while still getting the relevant information that users need.
With all the information presented above, not suprisingly if AR smart glasses have been applied not only in one sector but in multi-sectors. Starting from the education sector in improving the learning process experience, especially providing more interactive learning and more advanced virtual exploration, until the business sector in facilitating training, navigation and equipment maintenance.
Other sectors such as entertainment, health and energy are also applying AR smart glasses to simplify activities and enrich their experiences. With the various specifications before, it is not surprising that AR smart glasses are marketed at a price range that is initially quite high. However, as it develops, AR smart glasses are starting to adjust to the market by varying prices according to several main indicators that influence the high price, such as model, brand, design, materials and advanced features. So now, the price range can be said to be open from quite affordable prices up to premium options with all their mastery, with nominal values ranging from around 1 million to 50 million Rupiah.
Determining the price of AR smart glasses of course also depends on supporting indicators such as market availability, promotional offers, purchase area, and other factors. The competition generated in the marketing of AR smart glasses now has touched large technology companies, such as Google, Microsoft, Magic Leap, to be able to present leading models and innovations which are ultimately able to attract consumers and industry to buy them.
But unfortunately, All desired technologies of course still have weak sides. Just like this advanced technology, with various advantages that make AR smart glasses striking as explained above, this technology still has its drawbacks. The price is still not affordable for all levels of society which still be an obstacle to the market and development of AR smart glasses features.
The one that is no less important is the shortcomings of this advanced technology regarding the privacy and security of user’s data, especially the coverage, personalization, scale and sensitivity of the information collected by AR smart glasses, which possible to make new problems in its protection, especially vulnerability to hacking. Thus, the development of AR smart glasses in the future requires stronger privacy protection and security measures to provide a greater sense of security and trust’s people to use these glasses. Apart from that, its development also can be carried out by adding innovations to leading productivity features considering that there are still limited features that have been created over time.
Despite the shortcomings, in general AR smart glasses are still considered suitable for use, accompanied by developments and improvements that must be made through software updates and adapting to technological advances. AR smart glasses have succeeded in providing new colors for every pair of eyes to see the world by more beautiful perspective. AR smart glasses are not only as a product, but also as a real evidence of technological progress that is leading humans to move into the future.
This advanced technology has become a window that facilitates humans to explore new worlds by receiving extraordinary experiences from the unique features available. It is hoped that as it develops, AR smart glasses can continue to be the answer of all human’s needs and problems in living their daily lives, not only for a small number of people, but also for all of the people in the world.
