In a world which is always talking, posting every details of their lives on social media, there is another world simultaneously existing: the misunderstood world of the Introverts . Their world is also existing in a different way in their inner voice and their thoughts. Though society views this silence as abnormal or unusual. And often the contributions of the introverts go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle.

We as a society need both the extroverts and the introverts. As we have extroverts who are great at public speaking and introverts on the other hand wield a unique set of strengths. Bill Gates one of the world’s richest introverted men, explained how solitude, deep focus, introspection have helped him succeed in this extrovert dominated world.

Being an introvert helps in bringing the creativity . Solitude gives expression to creative thinking. Introversion is a powerful tool that allows introverts to focus within and connect to their hidden strengths. Author J.K Rowling of the iconic Harry Potter series told in an interview that in the year 1990, traveling alone on a delayed train from Manchester to London was the first time she envisioned about Harry Potter .”I simply sat and thought for four delayed hours, while all the details bubbled in my brain, and this scrawny, black haired bespectacled  boy who didn’t know he was a wizard became more and more real to me.

If we take a leaf from literature there are many introvert characters who inspired us “Matilda “by Roald Dahl is the poster girl for introverts and bookworms everywhere. She is a child genius with extraordinary and magical powers that makes her stand apart among her peers, and a complete outcast in her family. She is neglected and oppressed but uses her strength to take revenge on her bullies. Harper Lee novel “To Kill A Mocking Bird” talks about Boo  Radley as a heroic loner. Stories have grown upon him because he is never seen. He only left his house to save the finch children being attacked. After the arrest of Tom Robinson followed by some heart wrenching scenes ,they begin to understand why someone might not want to be out in the world. Sometimes inside is the safest place to be.

Today introversion and extroversion are the two most researched topics which have ignited the curiosity of many of the scientists. Both personality types appear in the Bible and in the writings of the Greek and some evolutionary psychologists say that the history of this types research even back farther and that the animal kingdom also boasts of “introverts”  and “extroverts”.

It is true that the power of introverts is quite, and they melt in the crowd, but that doesn’t mean they are less influential The world needs quite reflectors who significantly contribute to a progressive society.

Susan Cain the author of the bestseller “The Quiet”(the power of introverts in a world that can’t stop talking) who ones a wall street lawyer is now a writer and self confessed introvert. In 2014 she founded a company that was designed to help managers get the best out of their introverted employee’s. Her Ted talk on “The Power Of Introverts “ was a record breaking video reaching to millions views, is a testimony of how she over came her fear of public speaking to being the champion of the unsung.
