“The science of today is the technology of tomorrow.”- Edward Teller (A Hungarian-American Theoretical Physicist)

As time seeps into day and blends into the night, the world evolves bringing new advancements into the limelight. With the unstoppable marching of time, the imagination of humans is broadened resulting in various inventions that enhance our current state.

All of these technological advancements contribute significantly to our daily lives, and at such a stage, where all our days revolve around science and technology, our lives are drastically changed. Technology has altered the slow-paced simple lives that we used to lead and has turned them into competitive, developed, sedentary lifestyles that affect the overall lives of all people.

Whether negative or positive, the advancement of technology has become crucial to the essence of our living to the point that mankind cannot survive yet another day without using any means of technology. Technology has altered our lives in many aspects: in hospitals concerning the medical field, in agriculture bringing in new inventions to aid farmers, in food technology shedding light upon new machines that speed the creation of products, and in the education field helping young students to grasp complex concepts.

The most notable technological advancements have been noticed in healthcare concerning the medical field. Usually, these medical advancements cater to monitoring health conditions without complicating matters and are designed to aid patients connect to their healthcare providers. The rise of digital watches has reduced the need for people to go for monthly checkups at the end of each month.

Instead of several expenditures spent on countless medical examinations or checkups, digital watches have established a simpler way of living, making it simpler to monitor physical quantities. Not only digital watches but also the use of telemedicine has greatly impacted the lives we lead today. Telemedicine is using technological means to offer remote care to patients.

Patients can consult their required specialized doctors online without having the hassle to travel to another country or destination. Patients are connected to a healthcare provider via a private online platform with the help of appointments. Consultation can be accomplished within the comfort of our residence and helps in reducing complications in busy schedules. If a patient is frail or sick, he or she does not have the bother to drive to the clinic for medical consultation.

Telemedicine or digital devices are not the only addition to the myriad of advancements in the field of healthcare. The most salient of all advancements would probably be AI (or artificial intelligence). The use of AI has escalated; with more being used to analyze CT scans, enhance cancer diagnostics, and view a full picture of the organ tissue.

Earlier, healthcare providers had limited knowledge of organ tissues and other functions of the human body as they failed to get a full picture. Technology was not as enhanced as it is now. On the other hand, in the twenty-first century, a greater faction of knowledge concerning the healthcare field has originated from the use of AI.

AI has made it easier for researchers to acquire more information regarding the mystery of the human body. The various technological advancements in the medical field have made life simpler for mankind. It has contributed greatly to deciphering more about the inscrutable fields of biology.

Whether for working parents or any normal human being, stressful daily schedules reduce the time required to prepare breakfast, lunch, or supper. Waking up early in the morning, finding out that the fridge lacks what is required, and making breakfast with leftover ingredients is a lot of hassle for people who work or people who lead busy lives.

Time is an integral part of our schedule, and any mishap or misuse will affect the routine. Technological advancements in the kitchen cater to tackling these issues revolving around our stressful daily routines. It simplifies the creation of food, brings forth suitable and environment-friendly inventions to speed up the creation of food, and reduces manpower or labour.

From coffee brewers, smart refrigerators, and blending machines to air-fryers, fruit slicers, and even a warming butter knife, these kitchen gadgets make dinner preparation more convenient. There is also another invention that aids in monitoring the ingredients of a fridge, and notifying the owner when an ingredient needs to be bought.

During the late eighteenth century, the creation of food was not as easy as it is now. Nowadays coffee can be made in a matter of seconds with the help of a coffee machine (using coffee pods). However, in those days, the process of coffee creation was very complex. The technological advancements in food technology have disentangled the complexity of food creation and food production.

Apart from these, the field of agriculture has a lot of major contributions from technology. When in conversation about food production, agriculture is one of the crucial fields that are bound to come to mind. Similar to food technology, technological advancements in agriculture cater to reducing manpower and decreasing the consumption of time.

Farm automation is designed to enhance agricultural machinery, computer operation systems, and sensors, and improve data management. Apart from farm automation, minichromosome technology aids to improve plant traits without changing the genes in any way. This technology can be used to create more drought-resistant plants or pest-resistant plants. In a nutshell, this technology allows genetic engineers to create plants that entail fewer pesticides and fertilizers.

Technological advancements have altered the way we lead our lives, and have become a fundamental basis of our survival. Compared to older generations, technological advancements have simplified the way we live and work, but have also brought forth sedentary lifestyles affecting children’s behaviours, food habits, and education.

Despite tackling many problems, technology has provoked people to become more reliant on it, much to the point that people fail to use their brains to tackle problems, but rather depend on technology for solving them, even if it is just simple homework. Boon or bane, technology has changed our track. It has broadened our view, and our only concern now is whether this view will alter the lives of the coming generation or not.
