Reviewing the Book -: Inside Out 2

Have you ever gotten the feeling when a movie is so good that you just want to watch it again and again! You get the butterflies swirling through your stomach, and the excitement of joy screaming through you! It’s the best feeling ever! Especially when you have your favorite crunchy popcorn beside you, and some chips you know you might devour before the movie starts. I know we have all experienced that, and it’s the best feeling ever! That feeling tells us that we are about to watch the best movie that we will never forget! And be ready, because I will be telling you a review about what I think is the best movie that I will never forget.

You guessed right! I will be giving a review about Inside Out 2! You might’ve seen the first movie they gave out in 2015, it was the best childhood movie for me, and now in 2024 they released the Inside Out 2 that I know we have all been waiting for! I can tell you, the wait was definitely worth it!

It’s happening two years after her move to San Francisco, Riley has now turned 13 years, and has officially entered teenagehood. It’s her first year in highschool, and all her personal emotions- Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger- are now ready to burst forth.

Riley and her best friends are invited to a weekend ice hockey camp, and hopes to qualify her new school’s team, the Firehawks. However, a “Puberty Alarm” goes off the night before camp, and a group of mind workers upgrades the emotion console and leaves the headquarters in chaos. The senses discover that Riley now overreacts to any input they give to the console. Four new emotions enter- Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui- arrive and are planning to crash everything.

Let me tell you a little about my favorite characters in the movie! My first favorite character is definitely the main character Riley.

Riley is a lively, creative and energetic girl, especially at the beginning of Inside Out. She really likes ice hockey and has an imaginative personality. She is also very close to her family and friends, and she finds joy in the little things in everyday life, like playing ice hockey and having fun. Her personality is governed by her emotions, especially Joy, making her a positive and happy person most of the time. That’s why I think Riley is such a special person.

My second favorite character in Inside Out is Joy. Joy just brings that happiness and delight that we all love! Can you even imagine a world without joy? I can’t picture it at all. Joy is one of the most important roles in Inside out. Joy makes the world brighter, just like the smile on Riley’s lips whenever Joy takes the lead. Joy is a caring, cheerful, and understanding character. She is always there for everyone and will do anything just to make Riley, and anyone happy.

Inside Out 2 explores how Riley’s emotions continue to develop as she gets older and how new emotions such as shame and pride are introduced.

The inclusion of new emotions gives that excitement, where we can see how they interact with existing characters like Joy and Sadness. It was an incredible idea, by introducing new emotions in the movie, where it also tells that teenage life has challenges through puberty. The animation is colorful and creative, and the perspective of Riley’s inner world is impressive and imaginative.

I recommend the movie to anyone, but mostly youngsters. Especially teenagers, since it can be more relatable for them, than for younger kids. The movie is a kidfriendly movie, which is very appreciative. It is the perfect movie to watch with your family for movie night, since it is funny, exciting and thrilling.

The movie teaches us many different things. It teaches us that every emotion is important, even the ones that don’t feel good, like sadness. Each feeling helps us understand ourselves better. Sadness can help us grow in life, because later on it will always feel better. The new emotions in the movie, teaches us that challenges will come during teenage life, and there is always a way to let the joy in. Riley learns that growing up means dealing with changes, and it tells us that it can be tough, but it makes us grow stronger. The movie shows that our emotions can be complicated, but we are learning from it by helping ourselves in tough situations.

In summary, Inside Out is a considerable movie that shows us how important our feelings are. It teaches us how different emotions help growing together and always finds a way out that leads to joy. Overall, Inside Out is not only an awesome and fun movie to watch, but it also makes it more relatable for youngsters, and teaches us lessons on how to help ourselves grow. I can definitely admit that Inside Out 2 is the best animated movie I have watched this year.
