Judgement
He was a body. Soulless.
Not smiled in years. No one really cared.
Actually, no one noticed.
It wasn’t that he was good at concealing.
They just did not care enough to notice.
He’d realised the world wasn’t cruel.
Life wasn’t cruel.
It was mere misfortune that he had unknowingly bathed in its darkest echelons.
After all, it wasn’t the gift that killed him. Rather, the ones he shared it with.
He lay lifeless. A body. Endured horrors. No longer subject.
A first- a room dedicated to him. Perhaps he might find peace.
But not really.
Hours passed.
The judge announced the verdict:
“The court hereby sentences the accused to three years in prison.”
