Monomousumi has been successfully conducting international writing contests for several years since May 2018 with thousands of participants nationally and internationally.

Please introduce yourself in brief
Born at the silver city Cuttack, and brought up at the Handloom city, Sambalpur ; Sidhartha Mishra is an Engineer by profession and a writer by passion. Many of his poems and stories have been published in various Anthologies. His writings are also available in various online platforms like Monomoushumi, Pratilipi, StoryMirror et al. Sidhartha believes that Writing is an art and a craft that needs to be developed through deliberate practice and study over a long period of time. And Monomoushumi provides an excellent platform for aspiring writers to develop the art of writing.
What are your prominent achievements?
I have got a gold medalist in MBA, and won many prizes in sports, extracurricular activities and academics.Recently I got ‘Writer’s Desire Awardee 2022’ award. Apart from these I believe that if I could bring about some positive changes in the society through my writings, then it would be a prominent achievement for me.
When did you participated in the monomousumi writing contest and what was your rank?
Have regularly participated in writing contests, every month. Recently got fourth position in the quaterly creative writing competition with Chetan Bhagat as its brand Ambassador. Last month in May’22 got noticed in Outstanding essay category.
What is your weakest point and how do you overcome it?
My weakest point is that I am very emotional and am not really able to hide it. I overcome my weakness by deriving motivation from it, to do something good for my own people and for the world at large.
Who is your idol and why?
My idol is Cine actor Sonu Sood sir.He is an Indian celebrity who decided to take action during the novel Corona crisis. He helped stranded migrants to reach their homes by arranging free transportation on “a fleet of private buses” while providing both food and water for the journey. His transportation efforts “helped more than 15,000 migrant workers” return to their homes.He even arranged plane journeys for people where bus journeys were not possible. He is not only a hero onscreen, but also off-screen.
Which inspires you the most why you would like to emulate them?
Life itself inspires me. We learn everyday. Learning is a continuous process which goes on throughout our lives. Doing selfless little things everyday would make this place a better place to live in.
What keeps you motivated in your life?
I get motivated when I see someone doing service to mankind without seeking anything in return. For example, the Sikh community gives free langar service to anyone who visits Gurudwara, inspires me.
Where do you see yourself after 5 years from now and what is your ultimate goal?
I see myself as an accomplished writer after five years from now. It is my dream to write story for my idol, Sonu Sood sir’s movie.
What is there in your wish list?
I want to write for movies. And meet Sonu Sood sir.
Any memory which you would like to share to the world?
It was really a memorable moment receiving gold medal in University. It was memorable receiving ‘Writer’s Desire Awardee 2022’ award this year.
What’s one thing that make you different from your peers?
I do not believe in the conventional mode of thinking. And believe that any change which ushers in positivity is good.
What are your hobbies and how do you balance your profession/studies with your hobbies?
My hobbies are reading, writing and playing Cricket. Also I love planting and taking care of my small garden. I try to give some time to my hobbies after returning from work.
What are your writing tips for your peers? Do you have any advice for aspirants of writing contests?
I believe that one must maintain originality. Every one is unique and have something special in them. My advice to aspirants of writing contests is to maintain originality in their writings and try to write whatever they have imbibed in their own simple, lucid terms.
What would you like to do your bit for the society?
I would like if I could inspire someone to be better in their lives through my writings. I try to help people in need, and would continue to do so.
Do you think participating in Monomousumi contest helped you in anyway?
Yes, definitely.This platform has helped me in bringing out the best in me. And I continue to learn and become better by being in association with Monomoushumi.
How did you come across Monomousumi and share your experience with this platform?
I came across an article which was written through this platform, Monomousumi. I read and liked the article; then I read about this platform, and admired it. Since then I have been a regular user of this platform. My experience is very special with this platform. I regularly feature in the winning list of the essay contests and my articles are published here.

Essay contests in Monomousumi are very vital for a writing aspirant. By taking part in these contests, the aspirants could improve both their knowledge and skills. The topics of these essay contests are diverse and they build up the creativity and imagination of the writers. Writing of informative essays need adequate research and hard work It should be free from plagiarism and written in own words. The writer should first understand the topic, then read sufficient books and articles related to it, and then write in their own language, what they have understood. My tips for improving essay writing skills are that one must write regularly. It might not be so fluent or easy at first, but by regular writing, one could master the art. As is said, Practice makes one Perfect; so also regular writing is imperative for improving one’s essay writing skills.
