Lets have a series of essays on -If I Had a Superpower, real essay without any essay bot.

some kind of superpower is something which almost all of us must have longed for at some point of time in our childhood, and this desire was surely inspired by fictional stories, cartoons and movies that made us aware of the various super powers which could make someone a superhero. Some of us would’ve wanted to have the powers like those of the Marvel avengers, some would want to fly high up in the sky, some would want to turn invisible, some would want to have a multi-dimensional pocket that would contain infinite number of useful, powerful and hyper-fictional gadgets like Disney’s Doraemon, some would want the powers to control the elements of nature like fire, ice, storms or water, some would have also wanted to have the powers of being able to space travel to the parallel universe, and some people like me would also have wanted to be able to travel across time through a time machine.  Just the thought of having these superpowers would have been so exciting, thrilling and amusing, but somewhere I knew it was possible only and only in my imagination.

Now that I’m grown up enough to realise that all these superpowers that I wanted were only for my benefits, and to analyse all the sorrow, sufferings and negativity in my surroundings, I gave it a thought that if I had a superpower, it would definitely be the power to spread positivity, peace and happiness everywhere – even this sounds impossible, but it isn’t really impossible, it’s just too difficult to achieve (though this would be nearly impossible in reality unless I would’ve been living in my dream world). In today’s modern world, all of us do have some or the other kind of stress, and we often vent out our frustrations on those close to us. Our surroundings hardly allow us to live peacefully. Wouldn’t it be great if people could forget their sorrows and anger, when I would be around them? Wouldn’t it be great if I could use my superpowers to mend and entangle tangled relations and spread peace? Wouldn’t it be great if I could bring smiles on the face of people as I pass by? If I had these super powers, I would make the sorrow and depression among the people vanish forever. I would have done every possible attempt to erase the dark side and negativities from the lives of people, and would spread peace everywhere. When people would no more be depressed, they won’t completely rely on drugs or alcohol, and probably the suicide rates would decrease as well. I would heslp the people solve their problems and would make sure that every single person on this Earth would be satisfied with all they had or possessed, and would never have to be disappointed from their lives. People would no longer compare their situations or lifestyles with other people and then cry. This kind of satisfaction and contentment would reduce jealousy and enmity between people. There would have been no wars or rifts among people. If a situation that calls for another world war arises, I would be able to sort things out and restore peace and order with my powers. I would’ve made each and every person’s day filled with pleasure. Where there is joy and peace, people have immense respect for each other. How wonderful would it be – when each person respects the other person’s feelings and never hurt others. If each person would respect the other, there would be no demeaning of reputations or character assassinations of someone by someone else. I would throw off the evil thoughts inside the criminals, which would indeed turn these law-breakers into good human beings, and thus there would be no crime. If I had these superpowers, I would become a superhero – an angel of happiness (I would rather name myself ‘Angel Lady’, with a tagline – “the lady who makes the world happier”). I could reach any corner of the world to spread positivity.  An interesting thing about my superpowers would be that the positivity and joy I would spread, would pass on from one person to another, just like the Coronavirus. As and when people would greet each other, they would spread positivity, instead of their usual hatred. I would use my superpowers to make people learn to live with love, take care of each other, maintain harmony, look for their own happiness when their closed ones or known ones get happy, and to celebrate their own lives as well.

And once I succeed in my aim of making our earth a better and peaceful place to live, not only for human beings but also for each and every living being, I would fly off in search for another such planet where life exists, and would turn that planet happier and better as well. And this journey of spreading joy would continue till the last breath of my life.

But, back to reality, we all would agree that the world could never be this much perfect, and nor could be my ‘imaginary superpowers’. It definitely would be a dream come true moment for me when I would wake up the next day to find real angels/ fairies around me blessing me with these superpowers. However, this is not possible. Yet I believe I do have the ability to spread happiness around and resolve the problems of people around me, without any superpowers.

A few people ordinarily fantasize about getting superpowers. Some look at entertainer books, watch films, sit in front of the television, and inclination they could have staggering abilities like flying or becoming undetectable. With this being said, our paper will center on the off chance that I had superpowers in real ways of life. Well this sounds fascinating and rings a bell in my memory of my past, when I had a surprising dream that I had the capacity to fly and would end up being imperceptible. Well uncommonly enough when I stirred I adjusted into drifting in midair! It took some endurance to get lower back on my toes in view of reality. I didn’t exactly understand how to, but when I did I went to the washroom to peer inside the mirror and note if I should come to be undetectable. Well it changed into a fantasy of my youth’s days.

This is one of those conventional icebreaker questions. We’ve all heard it – probably even answered it – ahead of time, and in most extreme cases, we immediately failed to remember the question until it became raised once more. Then, at that point, we’d falter and pick out some other set up superpower, similar to flight, or sublime strength or imperceptibility, and most likely select some component more magnificent than definite time. So I’ve chosen to ponder it throughout this time. If I may furthermore have to have any superpower, what might it not be? I’ve presumably envisioned having each of the standard abilities at one variable or each other. Flying sets aside on fuel cash, and you may ceaselessly make a splendid front; incredibly great power is super for while your wallet falls into that break inside the return of the table; and we’ve all had enough humiliating minutes that we really need to be undetectable for quite a while.

Of course, after I truly consider it, could those powers indeed do me any good? I don’t ordinarily escape home, and I sense that flying ought to contain loads more noteworthy endeavors and gulped bugs than the utilization of the transport or going for strolls. Super energy is amazing as well, until your buddies find it. Then, at that point, you’re the essential individual everyone calls when they need to move. Also, intangibility? Indeed, it’s one component to stress that everybody’s speaking to me roughly about that humiliating issue you presumably did, but essentially they’ll with respectfulness shut up with regards to it once they comprehend you’re there. So no, I’d prefer now not to have thought about one of similar old fashioned superpowers. In addition, as any enthusiast of superheroes knows about, “With incredible power comes prominent obligation.” I’m really content to confine my obligations.

In the event that I must have a superpower, it wants to be some issue so unremarkable, so minor, and that people wouldn’t bother requesting that I apply it. Hence, I have not really settled on my superpower: One time per day, I need the solidarity to immediately call a bagel and a juice field. Certainly, occasionally in case an individual fails to remember their lunch, I can take care of them. However, considering that I can best utilize this power once an evening, people can’t expect it habitually. “Apologies, I previously made my bagel nowadays,” I would potentially answer, and genuinely shrug. I can infrequently be anticipated to treat worldwide appetite with this, yet great day, assuming I’m at any point stuck inside the no man’s land, I’ll be equipped for holdout longer than most extreme horrendous saps.

I disappear myself with a moderate certificate of adaptability in this respect. The bagel and juice region might be something I select out. I became in the beginning enticed to blast the bagel choices to sandwiches, yet that could just propose individuals could be considerably more liable to welcome me to call sandwiches for them. What’s more, perhaps there can be regardless of the capacity to battle wrongdoing sometimes. Muggers will be incapacitated with a very much pointed, essentially lifeless bagel. Tiny flames can be situated out with the juicebox. Underhanded baby masters may be mollified with a day tidbit, and afterward they could plainly need to take a rest and hold off on obliterating the region. Of course, you couldn’t unquestionably expect me to be in the event that such specific emergencies have been being developed.

Possibly I have been given hungry in site online webpage guests, or I’d effectively thwarted one bagel-inclined plot that day. All things considered, you’d disappear saving the field as much as every one of the people who picked such things as fabulous beats and super nannying. It’s potentially better that way. Knowing me, on the off chance that I had a standard wrongdoing forestalling gig, I’d typically 5 ft into the air before I recollected that I should trade into my get dressed. What’s more, that accepts I ought to unquestionably make an extravagant dress inside the primary district. No, I guess I’ll be doubtlessly acceptable with my totally smooth, completely exhausting energy, actually I can’t have extraordinary abilities. I’d all things considered need to endeavor so I would adore every one of the individuals if it’s not too much trouble, grin ceaselessly. Who knows, we’d have an effect inside the global.

Essay on If I had a Superpower

The topic is quite interesting and I thought about it for a long time and I understood that I want to do so many things to make this world a better place to live in, I mean there’s a lot to do and just one superpower isn’t enough. I need a multiple of them to make this world a better place to live. I asked the same question to my brother as to what if he had a superpower what would it be? He answered spontaneously that he would love to have Iron man’s armor, because then he’d be able to fly, carry weight in space or go under the water. It would functionally help the society and also that he’ll be able to fly in the space or sky without any risk. And also that he could build huge bridges and unite countries.

But the point here is what if I HAD A SUPERPOWER? I want to have many superpowers with different reasons; I want a superpower to be able to fly so that I can save anybody and everybody in this world whosoever is in danger. It would help me to save someone from an urgent situation or an accident without being worried about the traffic hour. Another superpower, if I could have, would be able to create electricity and supply electricity to all the places like Chad, Lebanon, Burundi, Malawi etc where there is no electricity, so that people can have a better and an easier life. I also want a superpower to have a magical healing power, so that I can cure every person who is sick and could even transfer their disease to me so that they can get well soon.

The superpower which I would love to have is the ability to share love. Because the world we are living in today, has so much of hatredness, jealousy, fear, depression, anxiety etc I want this world to be a better place to live in so that everyone can enjoy their moments without regretting. Because now-a-days the thing that’s happening is that everybody is just trying to be someone who they aren’t, I would love that everybody be what they really are because there’s no one like them in this world. Each soul is precious in their own way. These days everybody is just trying to fit in the beauty standards made by the society, but forget that they themselves are amazing in their own way. Who makes these beauty standards? Just a normal person right. So why to listen to that one random person who we don’t even know, why to give someone the opportunity to judge us.

In this society the thing which most of the people do is that we forget to accept ourselves as how we are. It is very important to accept ourselves just the way we are because that’ll eventually make us confident and be ourselves, and at last at the end of the day that’s what it really matters. As a teen, I know what all the teen girls and boys are facing right now. But just to be happy with our body, our figure is not very common. I, myself, had that traumatizing stage in my life. As a teen it’s really common to have those thoughts and mood swings but taking it as a shame or being depressed about it isn’t the solution, we should start accepting ourselves just as how we are or talk to someone who we feel comfortable with, because that’s when we’ll be happier and more confident.

Now in our society if we see, it’s all over fights, starvation, angry issues, insecurities and stuff like that. To make this world a better place to live we should share love and happiness. There’s less of the positive energy as of now. If this still continues, it’ll be an alarming situation. More number of suicide cases, more number of fights, wars will take place. So it is really important to make this as an initiative to spread love, care, and not judge anyone because judging isn’t a good thing and it comes down to only one thing; a person’s personality. So as an adult, as a teen I would request everybody to share peace and harmony with each other and the superpower which I would like to have is the ability to share love.

Title: visit to Heaven :: I am a person who is more attached to my family. I don’t have much friends only my family members are my best friends. Unfortunately by god’s play recently my father passed away due to the global pandemic. After the incident life was really difficult for me and my family, I tried to erase my past memories but the truth is “ everything passes by but nothing forgets”. so, if I have a superpower I will definitely go to heaven and meet my dad. I don’t believe in heaven and hell, life makes us believe in all stuffs. If I get a ticket to go to heaven I will fly off and search for my dad over there. Someone says “life is actually what we make” but I believe that 50% of life is luck and 50% of life is health. Life after losing the person that we always depend is so hard. It teaches how to be independent and bold. the main thing that I learnt in my 2nd phase of life is “people have shown me faces that I ain’t ever seen in crayon box”. When I meet my dad in heaven I would like to ask one thing “how dare he would let his little princess in this selfish world?” he should have thought at least once before leaving us… anyway, I should see what he does there? is he happy without us or sad? Many questions that rises in my mind. First of all I should see what heaven looks like? To visit all the places that I want to know about. The reason why I chose this superpower is to be with my dad also I hate this selfish world. Not only selfish it’s full of jealousy, betrayal and many more that I can’t even explain. The more we love others it turns out into a big tragedy to us. Everyone says KARMA is BOOMERANG, but in my life nothing happens like that. Waiting for everything to happen good is like waiting for my teacher to leave the class and send us home. When we speak to the people by heart they think that we are pretending to be; we can fix everything in this world but not people’s minds. People say that heaven is full of goodhearted people and angels, I want to visit and see them. If I get a chance I would change into a small fairy and stay there forever rather than being in this cruel world. I also wanted to see whether people are eternal and young in heaven. The pandemic has created a great impact in many families. The same as I’m choosing such a superpower; many people also used to have such a thought but never exposed. Everyone thinks about having different superpowers for different reasons but losing a person and thinking about being with them is really a pain. Having a superpower in real life for good reason will be great but nature doesn’t cooperate. Everything is impossible in this world but why can’t this happen? I don’t understand. Anything for good doesn’t happen in this world. I’m clear that nothing is permanent in this world. Some people say your friends will be with you throughout your life, some say your parents will be with you in your tough times. Everyone is actually a thing that can break or get stolen. I will say/ motivate people by not trusting people to be with them throughout their life. We should have the mindset of working with our hope and happiness. Not to think about what society thinks about you. It’s the only one life that everyone has. The pain that you suffer will pay for you one day but losing people in life will never be regained. You have to move on with what you and I have. Many families did not light up this Diwali , it doesn’t mean that we won’t be able to light up all the time, we will come back stronger with flying colors. We might not be able to light up our soul but our life. I have changed a lot in this 2nd phase of life. I might have conveyed a sad or motivated story but this is the recent condition of many families. It doesn’t always need a solid body to be loved; also a person in our imaginary world can be loved more as far as I have experienced. Having such a superpower will be more than enough for anyone who has lost their loved one. Only once in my lifetime have I had this superpower. I will definitely fly off to heaven and return back or might stay there if possible 🙂

-By Priyanka Anbu, Age: 20 City: Chennai

Yesterday, turned into an afternoon I felt genuinely unhappy and guilty. Even though I was a first-rate medical doctor at the hospital. I couldn’t help people at the risk of death .Seeing the families cry and moan over deaths I wished I could help.

Everyone will die no matter what, but even young children cannot enjoy a short life. It is pretty heartbreaking. I always had the thought that if the superiors had just found out a way to cure them then there is no need for them to suffer.

If I just had the power to heal them, wouldn’t they be living a happy life now? I always had the thought in mind .But it was not like I do something .Humans can heal their inner minds but not outer wounds and it doesn’t mean that it can be curable by the doctor always. Humans are beings that can die easily. As a doctor saving a life is to be proud of and that gives us happiness.

A month has passed after that large number of deaths .Now I am trying to prevent any more deaths from coming. Without realizing I started to spend more time at the hospital.

Today was a very tiring day. There was lots of work and stress. Like always I left last. Then I went to a restaurant with friends and had a heavy meal and drank cool drinks. To forget about the stress. After that I told my friends I will be leaving alone.

On the way home I saw a shiny lamp lying in the front of the antique store. I picked it up and tried to return it but it was already closed.so I took it back with me back to my home and kept it on the dining table.

The next morning when I was drinking coffee, I accidently spilled some on the lamp as the cup was too hot. I tried to clean it so I took a white cloth and rubbed it.

Then some kind of creature along with some blue mist came from inside the lamp. I was scared and shocked. It suddenly started speaking and it told me its name was a genie. “I am a genie. You helped me get out .Now I will return the favor. I will grant your one wish anything even if you want to conquer the world .Think through and tell me” genie said.

I didn’t believe it, can someone grant wishes? But I still thought let’s just try it .So I want the power of healing everything living. “You wish is granted and thus my favor ends here” said genie and disappeared. The next day, when I woke up, I felt a light refreshing energy pass through my body. I didn’t mind it and went to work.

My ankle was slightly hurt. I thought it was starting to heal after medicine was applied. But it again started to sting.so I at the bus stop holding my ankle hoping the pain will relive soon. Then suddenly the swelling and the stinging disappeared. I was surprised but didn’t think much. And went to the hospital

At the hospital crying and not going to take the bandages for the severe wound. So I went and touched her wound and told her I would pray for your wound to heal quickly and buy ice-cream for you later. So go and visit the doctor and get the bandages quickly and hope for it to heal quickly and it suddenly heals without leaving a scar. We were so shocked. She asked me if I was a magician. I told her I was not and asked her to keep it a secret between us. She agreed. I left my office while it crossed my mind. It is about the wish that was granted. The power to heal.so I thought lets just test it to make sure it is the power itself.

Then in the evening there came an opportunity at an operation. I asked everyone to leave the operation room and come after a few minutes only. They agreed and left. And when I hoped for it to heal while touching it healed. Everyone was so surprised and I started to help my patients without them knowing .And people started calling me “miraculous healer”.

When I woke up I was so happy and enthusiastic .It was a dream filled with desires even if I cannot have the power to heal. I still have the super power every human has. The power to think, discover, create ideas and things that other living things don’t have. That makes us special. I wanted to achieve things even without a healing power like my dream so I studied and brought new technologies.

Now after 5 years I am the world’s best doctor. Nick is named as a “miraculous healer”. Life is about discovering our superpower and using it for good benefits.

~”Noone is you, and that is your superpower”

Keerthana Manasswini S pens down an essay on the

Theme: If I had a superpower

Topic: A power every human wants to possess

A power every human wants to possess, obviously, is time travel. Everyone born in this world would have made any small or big error in their pathway patched for life which they always desire to correct once again returning to the past. Time traveling has always been under research, could we do that in this world? Can we meet our past personality and tell them about the future, could we change the ongoing pandemic?. A lot of stuff is always expected, but Time Travel is not just a fantasy, it is a research as well. Though reality states it impossible, will it end in a Science result or remain as a fantasy is the question among many. ‘Never look back at the past, keep going through the present, never think about the future, run your present perfect for it,’ are several quotes that state the level of importance we have to give to the past, but for sure, 99.99% of the population do feel they could correct their past mistakes once before they move. No human is perfect, but being perfect is always every human’s dream. Not just mistakes of life, but mistakes of career and passion as well. For example students who left their desire to become a Doctor because of their mistakes in the NEET exam. Or CAs who couldn’t clear the paper in the first or second attempt, they would always look back and want to correct their faults in their career path. Errors, faults and mistakes have no end in this world. Accidents or fate does happen as it has to. So if I had a superpower, as every human’s common desire, I want a superpower to go backwards to my past and correct the errors in my answer sheet of life and school before someone else finds it as a red mark.

-By Keerthana Manasswini S

Imagine a world where people possess superpowers. Better yet, imagine yourself having a superpower. What power would you rather have if given the choice? And how will the world change alongside you? Will it ensue in more chaos? Will there be more wars and conflicts? Or in contrast, will there be endless joy and laughter?

There are different phases a human goes through throughout life. We all start with an innocent childhood filled with unconditional joy to this point in the present time. At some point in life, the mind of a human expands and changes. We see and learn to accept our version of the world with all its flaws.

The younger version of myself has always dreamt of having a superpower. During that time, my world was limited to only me and my surroundings. I was blissfully ignorant of the world out there. If I were asked what superpower I wished to have, I would have given a childish answer. When I was younger, I always wondered what it felt like being invisible. No one would have the capability to see me and I was given the opportunity to do what I wanted to without people criticizing me.

In the years of growing up, I widened my perspective and opened up my mind to a world beyond monochrome. In the past, I was ignorant of the privilege I have. However, during the everlasting journey to understand more about life, I had an epiphany. Life is a blank canvas and the canvas will change depending on how we decide to paint it. I realize that my life will not be as meaningful if I’m not getting actively involved in making the world a better place. And so, I hope the current me has learned a whole lot more about life and can sympathize with various issues concerning the welfare and happiness of people all around the globe.

I dream and will always dream of a world where there are no conflicts and no bloodshed. I envisioned a peaceful world with joy and laughter ringing from every corner. Thus, if I was given the choice to possess a superpower, I would like to have the power to manipulate peace. Personally, I think that peace is something frail yet powerful. It is frail enough to break due to an action deemed insignificant yet somehow powerful enough to persevere through the darkest of times. The power to manipulate peace is both a tempting and dangerous one. In the right hand, peace manipulation could be used to ensure peace or in the opposite, it could be used to destroy the world.

Some people might understand the concept of peace but not the significance of it. Peace itself varies among people. However, it is commonly known that peace depicts utter calm and quiet. If I had the power to manipulate peace, firstly, I would make a simple move. Peace is from within. To ensure an everlasting peace, I have to start by making peace with myself. Like a domino effect, the peace will surely be passed on to others around me. I will then attempt to manipulate the mind of my closed ones to ensure that they are in peace with their inner selves. Once they are in peace, people surrounding them can also be affected and the chain of peace will go on. I will continue to go to places that are in the middle of a war or conflict and make them realize that peace is a valuable essence in life. That everyone can live together, peacefully. In contrast, peace manipulation may be seen as something immoral because it is still a power messing with the mind of an individual, no matter what. For every act of manipulation, there will be a butterfly effect that may accidentally change the structure of this world.

However, even without superpowers, it is possible and there are ways to maintain peace. The most straightforward way to contribute a step closer to world peace is undoubtedly from yourself. You cannot make the world a better place without reflecting and introspecting on yourself. I also wish that more people will realize that a petty action can cause an unpredicted effect.

To conclude, if I had a superpower, it would be peace manipulation and I will attempt to use it to make a real change in this very world we’re living in. There may be a few drawbacks, however if used rightly, it will undoubtedly cause more good than harm.

If I had the superpower of becoming invisible, I would wipe out our Nation’s enemies and work for the welfare of my people.

“How will invisibility help me?”, one may ask. Well, the following are some ways, in which it can indeed help me:

1. Corruption is a silent killer which is a hindrance to the development of a country. So, for example,  I see a policeman who is indulging in bribery and taking a bribe from criminals; I could become invisible and snatch the bribe under his very nose! Of course, the policeman will be annoyed, but what can he do? I know, they will file cases against me, but how will they arrest an invisible person? In this way, I will annoy all the corrupt policemen until a time comes when they will be exhausted and give up corruption. But what will I do with the money? Keep it with me? No, instead I would distribute the money among the poor and needy so that they could live a life like us.

2. Every person is acquainted with the fact that India is attacked by terrorists frequently. Often, we hear the killings of innocent people by the terrorist who have wrecked havoc all over the world. So, I could become invisible and march into the camps of these terrorists and bust them up there themselves. What would they do? They would fire in all directions to save themselves but would end up killing others. Thus, I would have to beat just one terrorist or let me say that I would have to slap only one terrorist and that would be enough to make them fire in utter chaos. I could also work as a spy, gathering information about each terrorist’s whereabouts and sharing it with the Indian Army, who could then launch an attack on these criminals, kill them and finish off all these terror plots without any damages. I wish I could serve my nation by doing so.

3. Next on the list are- DRUGS! Drugs are too dangerous for a country like India, where the youth are becoming victims of drug abuse. Every now and then, we hear news about the Narcotics Control Bureau raiding drug storerooms and arresting the petty drug peddlers. Being invisible would help me sneak into the big storehouses and godowns, where the DRUG MAFFIA carry on their criminal practices. I would then bust these druggists and hand them over to the police, thus saving our nation.

4. Women and children are somewhat unsafe, with kidnappings happening almost every day. In this case, invisibility could help me rescue them, once I got to know about there location. I would then beat the kidnappers until they surrendered and then put them behind the bars.

5. I could also help the government to work smoothly. Being invisible, I could travel through villages and listen to what the villagers want for themselves and get to know about their needs and aspirations. I would then repeat the same in the urban areas. Thus, the government would work towards the welfare of the people with great vigour, while the people would be happy and there would be no need for them to protest for their demands.

6. What I am going to say now, is the most beautiful dream, I imagine.

Who knows Santa Claus? Everyone, of course. So, invisibility would help me deliver gifts like Santa Claus on the midnight of 25th December every year which would bring a smile to each child’s face. In a country like India, where millions of children suffer from poverty, I would present them with lovely gifts and make them joyful, at least for a moment or two. Not only on Christmas, but on festivals like Diwali and Holi and Easter, etc., I could bring happiness to the faces of the downtrodden.

The main aspect of this superpower of being invisible would be: ONLY AND ONLY TO SERVE MY NATION , WITHOUT DESIRING ANYTHING IN RETURN FOR MYSELF.

Today people come forward to give advice and immense suggestions to their beloved ones. Of course, it makes the people feel better, more positive and come back with extreme confidence. This is the beauty of positive thinking.do you feel right that positive thinking makes you live the moment happier every time? Absolutely no. In most cases, people who prefer disciplinary life do face challenges. Commonly, many of us face challenges both sweet and sour-wise. So, here we can stop problems unless and until we come across them. This is why negative thinking makes you prepare as a planned individual while dealing with many aspects.

Positivity and negativity make a difference in the following discussion:

Too much positivity make you feel worse in the name of failures:

According to me, negative thinking is one of the best superpowers that I have. You know this kind of thinking will make you think more to avoid future attacks in all aspects. For example, if we learn something for an exam, then there is a point that the question is out of the syllabus. Do we write the question with confidence? No. This is why referring to all the types of questions related to the subject in different materials will help you. So, reading blindly with a particular portion of the subject will make you feel bad. Of course, this situation is rare. But knowing the possibility of the situation not only relieves you from tension but can make you learn new concepts as well.

Negativity is the best element sometimes to gain full-time positivity in your control:

It makes you feel stress-free. It is the major objective. Here negativity in the sense, knowing the possible problems clearly to overcome the challenges that counter you bad. This is why over-addicted positivity will make you feel guilty. In the same way, negativity must not be like the task will be ruined. It should be like how to overcome the flaws of the task to get it completed anyhow. This is the way of thinking negatively.

Accepting failures is a strength to negative thinkers:

Always be forward to accepting unexpected failures. It is the biggest challenge for an individual. Nothing seems straight and fair every time. So, accept the negativity.

Deep thinking is a weakness to a negative thinker:

Thinking deeply after the negativity happens is not a good move. It simply wastes your precious time. So, move on. Negativity like an emotional connection with people and something that are more important etc. Like reasons might take time to move on. Such kind of negativity is handled with moving on in your busy life.

Most of the ones state that being positive makes you feel stress-free. But it is wrong according to me, being too positive about the aspect might enhance your stress levels that need to be finished according to your wish. In this process, if the aspect of work which couldn’t be done as per your wish, it will be shocking news. This is why just be true for yourself. Being positive in the sense, building the nature of overconfidence sometimes. It might not only affect your work but also your real authenticity.

Negative thinking is a good motivation:

You know if something doesn’t work in your life, it shouldn’t be treated as a big deal. Maybe it’s a chance to learn something new with great challenges. Here negativity is helping you to taste the changes that are needed for your life. So, taste it.

A failure is not a big word and of course, it is equal to success only. Here both positive and negative modes of approach will allow you to take risks for your desires. But mostly negativity like a failure happens, you took a big risk and got affected badly. So, consider the risk you have taken but not the result you received. This is how negativity helps you to accept the countless risks that might have come across.

Psychological health is based on accepting negativity only:

For example, if you are mentally depressed then being with the positive mode of coming out from emotional imbalances is quite impossible.  Even though you are busy yourselves, mingling with people, etc. like you might remember your reason for depression. So, what is the best treatment for this psychological situation? Just be negative and get rid of emotions. Confused? Here being negative means realizing the situation has no U-turn to come back and make you feel happy.

Staying strong is only possible with negative thinking to make possible changes by analyzing with clarity. Especially during tough times, the mode of negativity allows the thinkers to grab their opportunities in a much wiser way by making decisions firmly.

“Super” is an inequitable existence.  It presents an opportunity to be unique and distinguished but as the saying goes with great power there comes even greater responsibility. As unique as it is, the existence is even greater is the attention and expectations it receives. A “super” power or gadget will change the nature of human limits and bring around a new reality. So a superpower or a super gadget is one which could change everything as we know it, giving power to the one who wields it, the exclusive right to determine the future. So rephrasing if given the opportunity what is it that we would choose to change, control, create or protect. As humans the phase explores our expectations, morality, aspirations and imagination as individuals.

For me between super power and gadget I would choose the latter. Since superpower would limit itself to an individual. Super power or gadget, as long as the person wielding it is of upright character it would be used for the right reasons, but human emotions cannot be controlled, is influenced by the surroundings and is never to be determined by others. “Everything has its pros and cons”, in the end we weight all the pros and cons and find the one suitable.

If I had the choice to choose my own super gadget it would be a gadget that could make “Wormhole “or “Einstein-Rosen bridge”. Theoretically it is a pathway linking disparate points in space-time and is consistent with Einstein’s General theory of relativity but there is yet no substantial evidence to its existence. Wormholes would allow one to travel between different points of time, i.e. to the past and future, and across light year distance in a shorter time. The concept of Wormhole has its own limitations with respect to space and matter. The super gadget should be able to make a gate from one location to another at any distance and to any time and should be safely traversable for humans and matter.

The super gadget would allow me to open a new era of scientific development. I would use it to build Space Bridge to planets and expand research across space and time. I would be able to bring plentiful mineral resources from across the universe thus there would be no shortage of materials to build new things. There would be enough natural resources for everyone and new technology could be developed. I would promote plans for colonisation of planets with potential for life. I would be able to make transportation of people and material easier. Using the gadget’s facility to travel through time, I would use it to foresee and prevent major disasters.

Using the gadget has its own dangers and complications. Building the gate would also meet with many problems since we are exploring space, we don’t know what would be the nature of the world on the other side. Not all celestial objects would be hospitable and there would be the risk of the unknown. Preventing a disaster would be possible since we can also travel through time but time travel has a lot of paradoxes that could even affect existence itself. At the end of the day it comes down to whether the superpower or super gadget can establish peace and harmony. An endless supply of resources may prevent wars and the new opportunity may unite humanity.

Superman or Spiderman can save a person trapped in fire or falling from a building, catch criminals and disarm bombs but would not be able to stop a pandemic or cure a sick person. Similarly my super gadget would develop society and bring about a whole new world but it won’t be able to prevent death, cure diseases or save people. My super gadget is an assimilation of my aspiration and realisation of the ideal development and nature of the world I want to live in. But any superpower would be the same and would come with its own possibilities and impossibilities. A superpower that can prevent disasters could save many people but at the same time it could not be able to prevent crimes like rape, theft or fraud. A superpower that can cure all diseases won’t be able to prevent economic crisis or suicide. No superpower would be able to save, protect or make everyone happy.

Superpower is an extraordinary existence but not having it doesn’t make humans any less special. To save a person trapped in fire there are firefighters. To save an ill person there are doctors. Police catch criminals, veterinarian’s save animals, engineers make aeroplanes and trains, sweepers keep the locality clean, so even without superpowers we are capable. Life is never easy and a person cannot find all the solutions. But this is not a bad thing, it just makes life a cumulative effort of every person. Every person is a main character of their own life and a side character in another person’s life. We all have to make an effort to reach a beautiful future.

By SURESH

There are many superheroes in mythology. We have read about Bheema who was one of the Pandavas and possessed great physical might. There were rishis who had many mystical prowess and they used it for the development and betterment of the society.

Today in the 21st century when life has become both challenging and easy; challenging because there is competition everywhere ranging from one’s student life to jobs, there is stiff competition and the question of the survival of the fittest arises. And easy as there are new innovations and discoveries which are making life more easy. Today one can even earn good money without even a need to venture out of their homes, through social sites and the use of smartphones and computers. If I am asked as to what superpower I would like to possess – I would say ‘Wealth’!

Although wealth is not directly considered as a superpower, it can be used to create super machines, gadgets, cars, robots with human intelligence etc which would make the owner of these super instruments – a superpower!

By having wealth I would like to make a special super robot which could perform many varied activities like saving people’s lives, making vaccines and medicines, going into space, knowing the future etc. I would use it to serve mankind.

If I had wealth then I would like to invest in the research activities and invention of new drugs for diseases like malaria, Covid-19,HIV, etc.

I would use wealth to eradicate poverty by creating new jobs and reducing unemployment. The use of nitrogen fertilizers, various pesticides, many new varieties of seeds and irrigation methods have reduced shortages of food in the present times and have boosted yields. But still a lot needs to be done and there is a whooping 16.6% of the world’s population who are undernourished.

What is alarming is that around 811 million people remain hungry everyday without getting two meals a day. There are more than 2 billion people suffering from malnutrition. However there is enough food, knowledge and resources in the world required to sustain each and every individual on earth. Moreover, food is a basic human right. I want to solve this food problem of the people of the world if I had the superpower – wealth.

There is another alarming problem in the world which, if not checked, could be the cause of World War III. It is the water crisis which is fast spreading around the globe.

Water crisis or water scarcity is the lack of fresh water resources needed for the standard water demand of the population. There are two types of water scarcity -physical or economic water scarcity.

Physical water scarcity is there when enough water is not available in order to meet all demands of the human as well as all the plants and animals in our ecosystems. Arid areas like Central and West Asia, and North Africa often suffer from this type of water scarcity.

On the other hand, economic water scarcity is caused when there is not enough infrastructure or technology to draw water from rivers, lakes or other water sources. Much of Sub-Saharan Africa goes through this type of water scarcity.

Other water-related hazards like floods and droughts are also increasing due to climate change. The number of people suffering from water stress would soar in the coming years due to population increase and day-to-day decrease in the availability of fresh drinking water. The management, forecasting and monitoring, including early warnings are not sufficient to prevent it! The global climate finance efforts are marginal according to a new multi-agency report.

Water is needed by each and every living being, be it plants and animals or homosapiens.Urgent action is required to increase the cooperative water management and to integrate water and climate policies of all the countries of the world and try in a cumulative manner to solve this crisis.

I would try my best to solve the water crisis, if I have the superpower – wealth, by establishing research facilities to study climate change; as the increasing temperatures are resulting in global and regional rainfall changes which is leading to drifts in the rainfall patterns and thereby affecting agricultural outputs impacting food production.

There are thus infinite possibilities as per the use of one’s wealth. One can use one’s wealth to eradicate poverty, solve the problems of the world and make this world a better habitat for all beings.

However with great power comes great responsibility! The use of wealth requires one’s discretion, and if utilized in the wrong channel, then it could result in disastrous consequences both for the individual and the world as a whole.

Also money cannot purchase happiness and peace!

But still then, having a lot of wealth is great and I would like to have this superpower if I am given the opportunity to have it!

“The biggest superpower that you can have is the ability to change your own life. It’s in your own hands, and if you believe that you can get the power you want, you can do whatever you wish to do.”                                                               -Hrithik Roshan

Introduction

One day you wake up in the morning and realize that you are not able to move your body as you always did  -in simple terms you get paralyzed….How will you feel?? Cursing yourself for not taking proper care would be of no help and the next thought that would jump up in your mind would be to die rather than live such a dreadful life. “Health is wealth”, those proverbs are better dressed in the showcases of books than to be used in daily life. Their actual worth comes to existence when there is no turning point to correct ourselves. We Bengalis are well aware of the proverb, “Daat thakte daater mormo bojhe na”.

Instead of beating around the bush let’s move to the main question, “what exactly is miracural?” It is a drug by the world famous scientist and my favourite character Professor Shonku, a character pen-pictured by famous author Satyajit Ray. Miracural, as the word stands -Miracle cure for all ailments. Ever since I had heard of it, I have coveted it and I’m sure anyone who has known about it, will go to any heights to obtain it.

 Creation

To be true, Professor Shonku was not the first discoverer of the drug. It was only when his father was seriously ill by an untreatable disease that he was made aware of such a magical power of some leaves found only in a special part of Bengal, by a saint. The instant he heard of it, he realized how necessary it was for his father’s treatment and decided to go into the forest where the tree is found all by himself. Unfortunately, it was late till he discovered it. But Professor Shonku had the firm determination to help others with these special leaves. He grew those trees in his garden, with the help of the same soil and later converted the paste of the leaves into tablet form. So the actual credit of the drug could not be shared by Professor Shonku alone, and he never acts greedy to have it autonomously.

Present situation of the world

Heading towards the current scenario of life, every house is succumbed to some diseases or the other, not to mention the deadliest covid and malaria. Diabetes is a guest to the elders of every family, sometimes even without sparing the younger ones. Healthy lifestyle is far more than an imagination and it is constantly stepping away from our doors .Even doctors are unable to help at this zero hour. We need to be armed to the teeth to avoid any other such outbreak. And the most effective solution to this would be –“Miracural-the cure to all ailments”.

Measures to be adopted

The Indian Ayurveda has many such secrets waiting to be discovered. It is the real magic. Miracural could be our secret weapon to all the emotional, physical and psychological problems. We need to roll up our sleeves for the upcoming danger to be posed on our health. The outbreak of coronavirus has created a great impact to all of our lives, making us realize that only people with better immunity could survive in the mere future. It is an apple of discord that despite these life threatening situations, people are not taking appropriate measures to protect themselves and are turning a blind eye to the imminent dangerous consequences. Not to mention cancer, the life threatening disease which is common day in and day out in every house. There is no permanent cure to it and “MIRACURAL” could provide its yeoman service to help us assassinate it.  Scientists have extracted various ways to surplus food production, detect criminals easily, and add comfort to our lives. Invention of robots and letting the robot do all the work for its master are some known facts to the world, but have we realized that millions of people are dying without proper treatment and if it continues at this rate then there would be no one left to enjoy this comfortable life? The creation of atom bombs and other explosive weapons is only helping to fasten the death rate. All these wonderful inventions will go in vain and that day is not far enough when only robots will remain in this world. So it’s “Better now than never”.

The fancy of superpower

Superpowers are illusions that everyone desire to possess. The world is full of people who are greedy to be its master without realizing the fact that “Uneasy lies in the head that wears the crown”. What would be the use of those superpowers if no one was left out in this world? So, if I was given the opportunity to select a superpower, I would just ask for the power or precisely the intelligence required making ‘MIRACURAL”. Although it is not a gadget but the power to solve the problems of the entire world is actually a superpower and I desire to possess it so that I could indiscriminately hand it to the needy, not considering his caste, religion, status or to which country he belongs. We need to nip the evil in the bud and it is the zero hour for us to do it. The world needs scientists like Professor Shonku to overcome collapsing in the mere future with his wonderful inventions and kinship service. The heroes in our movie use their superpowers to save the world, similarly I would like to use the superpower of “MIRACURAL” to save the world since “Courtesy costs nothing but gains much”.

By Shreya Ghosh

Superpowers are greatly desired by all human beings. The reason being that they are portrayed in such a way in movies,  cartoons and series that they tend to make us think that life would be so easy if we      had them. And I cannot disagree. Most of us would imagine having a doraemon or being the iron man or super woman for  feeling powerful. But on the contrary I  would feel like I own the world if Read “Read and Change the Mind ”superpower which would enable me to read and change people’s mind. I would be able to fathom what’s going on in my mother’s mind and escape from her terrible rage. Same is the case with my father, other family members and the school teachers and the best part would be that I would be able to even control or change their thoughts. But it would be fun only for a small duration and honestly that’s just a small picture. The bigger picture would be to turn this world into a crime-free, peaceful and happy place to live. These are the very reasons and objectives for the need of this superpower as reviewing the current situation reveals that humans would never ever be able to make this world a better place to live on their own.

With my superpower I would change the mind of politicians playing dirty politics and exploiting the country for their selfish interests. I would channel their mind’s cleverness in a positive way and prompt them to make better policies for the country, to work for the development of the country, to eradicate the sufferings of poor and the old, to curb superstitions and to do something progressive and better for the country apparently which they use only for filling money in their pockets. The ideologies of people towards modernization, liberty and equality between men and women will be changed by the use of my superpower by the masses. People would have humanity and a sense of brotherhood for other people in their hearts. They will not look down upon women who work late at nights and will respect their choice of profession. They will not fight and cause riots in the name of religion, caste, creed or colour. It would support the overall development and upliftment of our society. The culprits won’t be sent to jail as in my opinion it  does no good. Instead they would realize their mistakes internally which would lead them to feel guilty about their errors and apologize truthfully from the bottom of their hearts. In this way the crime rate will ultimately become zero and the expenditure on jails and stuff would be avoided leading to much more capital left for the development of the country. Most importantly the cruel acts of unhumanity executed by the terrorist will come to an end. And there will be no repetition of incidents like 26/11 which bring shame on the whole human population. No one would be deprived of the basic necessities of life like food, clean water and shelter. With a change in mass thinking, problems like pollution, environmental degradation, climate change, species extinction and ozone depletion could be stopped, all of which somehow are leading to the end of the world. And who knows maybe we would not even need to continue our wandering in the universe in search of an alternative planet to live. Also, the power  to read and change someone’s thoughts can actually be used for healing someone. There are many people in this world who are so badly traumatized by an event that they do not want to face the real world again. They are unable to help themselves and  they stay in the dark. Their mind is filled with some pre-made bad thoughts about themselves. The thinking of these people can be changed by the “Read and Change the Mind” Superpower. A candle of will to start again and live life hopefully can be ignited in them. Also, people who give up on life and commit suicide can be prevented from doing so as dying is not a solution of any problem and it leads to that person’s family suffer more. Another problem which is usually ignored and considered irrelevant is that people aren’t satisfied with their lives. No matter how rich they are or how comfortable their lives are, they are not satisfied. Their wishes and demands are insatiable. So, with this superpower a feeling of satisfaction can be invoked in people. And thus, the superpower to read and change people’s minds will inevitably make this world the best version of itself.

Ever Since humans existed on the Earth, our species have kept evolving and is still evolving better and better, in terms of physical appearance, mental understanding, socially understanding, emotional awareness, discovered better types of equipment to hunt their needs, observed what were the troubles back then and prepared themselves for the worst situations of life and death.

Back then, life was vicious, no one knew anything, forests, mountains, caves were their home, they used to prey on animals for their food or sometimes they would become food to some animals.

Humans are the only species on the Earth so far, who have evolved to their greatest potential, and now they are diminishing other eco-friendly creatures for their existence. How funny and sad is that!

The majority of the credit goes to a human organ called “Brain” which separates “Homo sapiens” from other creatures around them, which gives the ability to “Think”, hence since the beginning, humans always had a progressing state of mind.

Isn’t this the superpower of humans! We are the only species who have languages for conversation, we actually understand the concept of “Time”, which came into existence 5000 years ago, according to the internet, but it is as ancient as “Ramayan”. And because of this concept of time, we have past, present and future.

Having said about time, I want to get a superpower from our previous versions, who hunted almost throughout their life for their survival.

And the superpower is: “The state of being in the present”.

I am sure that homo sapiens back then would not be thinking about their future because the life they had was precarious. They had to perform their best to survive through their present state/ present moment.

Now, after millions of years of evolution, we are here in the 21st century, with the latest cerebral updation, which humans are actually suffering through! Why? Because humans don’t know how to be in the “Present” moment, to live in the very moment where there is air, breath, lives! Humans don’t know how to use their body because they have shown least interest in knowing it, rather than reading the manual of the human body, the most sophisticated machine, built by god, as early as possible in their journey of life. You want to know where is the Maldives, an exotic location to visit, you want to know where is Bermuda triangle, because there have been cases of ships getting disappeared from there, you want to know where the most haunted places are and are curious about their back story, but you don’t know where the hell you are! Your mind is wandering probably in your past events and are regretting incidents, thinking about their future, discovering all sorts of opportunities and overthinking every situation.

The fact is that you are underthinking about your present moment and planning for future events, which is such a foolish thing to do. The human body, which you have and you are reading this article right now is the only truth present in the moment! Humans are very enthusiastic about the time machines and how they can travel to their future, how they can improve their present by knowing their future, this is such a senseless thing to do, because you are actually disrespecting, deceiving your current state of mind and giving preference to something which is going to come, slipping off the time which you have right now in your hand!

Every experience that you have is through your body, so why not be in the present and be aware of the things happening around us. This can also increase the witty side of our brain and increase the humor as well. Some of the causes of depression are because of overthinking and overanalyzing every situation of your past and about your future and not wanting to face them because your evil thinking has created an imaginary world, where certain things will only happen. Which is not the truth!

So, what I believe and make others follow this path as well is, to be mentally present in the very moment where your body is physically present. If you try to deceive this machine with your emotions and thoughts, everything will be a disaster for you.

Here, I am not conveying that you should not plan for your future, of course, you should! Because it is something that is on the positive side of thinking and not bringing out the chaos out of your mind. Going in the negative direction/ thinking full of a hindrance about the future is not something to be done.

In conclusion, You are the smartest of all the human evolution that has evolved till now, so why not prove it by using your superpower to be in the present state of mind.

Superpower – a very powerful word indeed. A word that can rob anyone and everyone’s attention. A word which is both a creation and a destruction . A word which can be both fictitious and real . Now if asked about superpowers , everyone would want to be a living part of the group . I myself want to own some crazy superpowers. And if I am granted the wish to have superpowers , I would want to give people a thing that I myself crave for to be taken away from me . I would want to free People from “Pain”.

Pain was created by God to make people understand and enjoy “happiness” . If pain is not there , happiness is of no value . But there are some excruciating pains which can never be forgotten , after which happiness can also never bring contentment in life. The pain is constant . It is a dangerous scar that fades with time but never dissipates. We even after throwing out the maximum pain , sometimes catch a glimpse of it the back of our unconscious mind. It never goes away. Therefore my motive for both me and everyone is to get rid of the feeling ‘pain’ that comes with the motive for destruction.

If I had a super power -to remove pain, I would have made a pain stimulator machine where the pain would be excited and then dissipated forever . Don’t ask me how I would have done it , guess with superpowers, things would be easier. Pain is necessary but to a bearable level . My machine would come in where the level of pain would get unbearable . That will be the charisma of my machine . The machine would look like a blue-red veiny mass of flesh or in other words a heart . This artificial heart would be a victim of slight seepage of some visible liquid. And this liquid would come out of the machine at the time the pain is treated. This liquid coming out of the machine would be the symbolization of the pain that the machine would just suck out of the person . Once the pain is completely out , the seepage would stop, indicating its absence in the person. No more liquid out means no more pain and no more pain means a thousand reasons to feel empty. Feeling of emptiness shouldn’t be the exact outcome since emptiness as well comes with pain. But “numb” could always be the better word here since for the first few minutes , feeling numb and forgetting about the past is the best. Removing pain doesn’t mean wiping off memories , it’s just the removal of the sharp feelings that would accompany the memory. Removing pain also doesn’t mean the addition of happiness. Happiness can only be found if one wishes to find it and is ready to welcome it. Happiness is more difficult to find sometimes , especially when pain exists. Now, when I would shoo the pain away, happiness would definitely have to come. Some amount of happiness will come with the feeling of no more suffering and the rest needs to be found out. And I want people to search for it, take responsibility for it.

I would take a very minimum wage for all that I do for people . The wage is necessary since by saving that money , I can make many more machines . I want to see machines all over the world . But I promise , I wouldn’t let the machine be misused. Maybe after being treated by the machine , people will get addicted and they might come back very often. But I ensure , everything will be supervised properly , only greater pain will be treated here because bearable pain is required in everybody’s life to feel happy. If possible I would install a proper device inside the stimulator itself which will show the amount of Pain a person is holding. It’s unit could be “Agony” i.e, 1 Agony = bearable pain and more than 6 Agony= extreme/ unbearable pain . I believe all pains are bearable after a time . After a time , it does not bother us twenty-four/ seven. But the advantage of removing extreme pain can save many lives that are taken away by suicide. So in other words , I want to donate life by removing PAIN.

I have also decided to print a poem on the stimulator as a small token of relief caused to the persons from whom pain will be sucked out and remind them from where they once belonged from :-

Pain is a feeling which doesn’t allow healing,

It is sometimes thrilling and is responsible for your heart’s killing.

Here is where your heart starts shrilling,

And the pain makes your mind crash back reeling.

“Even if you don’t tell me what is on your mind, I can guess.”

As a child, I often found myself cast upon the shore of this question, evaluating the options as numerous as the endless expanse of the sea. The superpower I gravitated towards the most was telepathy, the exchange of thoughts and ideas via mind-to-mind channel sans the use of words or physical actions. It is also the ability to read other people’s minds.

I was first intrigued by telepathy after an accidental encounter with a documentary that sheds light upon the telepathic minds of the conjoined twins, Krista Hogan, and Tatiana Hogan. Canadian by birth, both the twins have separate brains, yet they seem to possess the extraordinary ability to exchange words at the cerebral level. Their mother, Felicia Simms, revealed how the pair can be often found giggling together while eyes closed, as though sharing a humorous anecdote. In other instances, she sometimes finds them sitting together and then suddenly running towards the fridge to grab food, in unbelievable coordination as though the action was pre-decided. With time, my interest was only piqued.

This ‘blessing’ would transform the world into an open book for me. Everyone has stories from life to tell, some sweet, some bitter, some inspiring, and so on. Telepathy would acquaint me with those stories and thus enrich my life with the wisdom of experience that others embrace throughout their life.

As an introvert, I often experience great trouble mixing with others. I act too formal and conscious of my mannerism as I fail to decipher the thoughts swirling in others’ minds. Being telepathic could enhance my communication skills by exposing me to the perceptions and opinions of others, along with the deeper layers of the conversation expressed beyond the words.

In the era of diplomacy, words more often than not reveal only a part of the speaker’s true intentions. Telepathy to the rescue! I would be privy to the most profound meanings of those with whom I interact. This would guard me against all the malicious and deceitful.

Telepathy would also render me suitable for a sea of occupations. A leader is expected to be an excellent orator, deep listener, an open-minded thinker who listens to everyone and takes the best action to lead to prosperity. My unique abilities would apprise me with others’ approaches regarding situations, which, combined with my natural unprejudiced attitude, would make me an open-minded listener and speaker (the requisites of a great leader). As a teacher, I could identify the curriculum areas that the students find the most complex and thus emphasize them. As an entrepreneur, I could remember the true desires of my business’s consumers and stakeholders and thus create the most satisfactory framework to maximize satisfaction. The list goes on.

We see the world the way we are, not the way it is. We often let our biases intervene in our understanding of a situation. This is the root cause of misunderstandings. Telepathy would lay bare before me the facts for what they are. I would know who did what and why thus depriving my wild guesses of an opportunity to intervene in me making sound judgments. For example, I would often cry over my parents urging me to study and discouraging wasting time on television as a kid. Had I possessed the power of telepathy back then to understand their true intentions, I wouldn’t have acted so stubbornly!

With it also comes several fun applications. I could solve all the criminal cases all over the world in a day! I would never lose a chess game because I would already be acquainted with my opponent’s next move. I could even negotiate with anyone in this world. I could even know what the next day’s exam questions would be (though I am totally against cheating).

But the most heartening application would be to listen to the thoughts of my pet.  A study suggests, pets are not just capable of thinking but also capable of thinking about thinking! It would be intriguing to see what Archie (my dog) thinks of me.  Besides animal telepathy, I could also experience plant telepathy, i.e., become aware of my plant’s feelings and thoughts I would always know when my plants are thirsty, at what angle would they want to receive sunshine, ask for their opinions as I share my deepest thoughts and problems with them and also take better care of them. Cinderella’s endless musical conversations with birds and rats would now no longer be a childish fantasy. I could forge genuine friendships with plants and animals, the conversations now being two-sided.

However, this superpower is not one without hassles. With it looms an enormous moral and ethical dilemma of getting acquainted with information one should not have/wanted to listen to. As they say, “Ignorance is bliss,” there are some things we don’t know about for the better. The lamest example would be how a birthday gift would never be a surprise for me, as I would already know what it is. So is the case with a surprise birthday party. Another downside would be getting familiarized with someone’s negative opinion about you. As a part of human tendency, most end up getting distressed over it. While I might find these powers incredible in specific scenarios, for the others, it might be like opening Pandora’s box!

Superpower a word which is so common in everyday conversations and people tend to use the word a lot. Not only adults but children too tend to use this word a lot in their conversations. But what actually superpower means, in terms of

definition it is a human ability which makes him superior to others, it can be both a mental ability and a physical ability. Usually this superpower is a superhuman ability as in the most generic terms it is unrealistic at times. While pondering about the word and its origin we get to know that it can be traced back to the times when comics were ruling the teenage lives, where superman and batman were the superheroes with incredible superpowers which were not only unrealistic but also extraordinary in nature like saving the planet. The word

superpower and the human desire to acquire superpower is not a new idea rather it has been around for decades. From superpowers like invisibility to

teleportation human beings have a desire to have a superpower which makes them superior and extraordinary. When talking about superpower, everyone at some point of their life has thought of having a superpower, like teleportation or being able to talk to inanimate objects we all have our desires. Usually the idea of

superiority, power and dominance follows the desire of acquiring superpower. The usual purpose for which people have desire to acquire superpower is for their personal benefit, the idea of superpower in comics and fiction is of saving planet

and the people, but this idea is most of the time limited to comics and films only.

It would be a white lie to say that I never dreamt of having a superpower, the question “if I had a superpower” often arises in my mind. While pondering about

the topic and the nature of the superpower a lot of things came to my mind. But the superpower that stuck in my head was the idea that came to my mind during the pandemic time. The pandemic has been a tough ride for the entire world. It was not only about survival but also about the survival of the mental health of oneself. The pandemic drained the human being mentally, physically and emotionally. The superpower that popped up in my head during this stressful time was the  superpower of time travelling. This superpower would have literally changed the present situation which the world is facing. In the world of uncertainty this superpower would have helped to maintain the normalcy. If I had the superpower of time travelling I would have tried to stop the spread of the pandemic. This

would have helped the world retain the pattern of life it was following. Not only the world I would have also helped myself in the past to overcome the  problems which I had been facing in the past and which could have led the results

positive for me and I would have also shut out the negative and wrong aspects of life which affect till date. I would have grabbed the opportunities for myself which I was not able to grab due to problems of life as well as the pandemic. Not only me but a lot of people would have not gone through that dark phase of life which the pandemic brought us. The superpower which I truly wish I had is

definitely having the power to time travel and stop the pandemic from happening. The world have retained its earlier nature where the pandemic was

not an add on to the already existing problems mankind is facing.

Apart from visiting the past I would have also visited the future and would like to see what the future holds for us. What is the palette the world is using for its working? The superpower of time travelling is indeed something I would have loved to have.

But, snapping out of unrealistic thoughts and realities we need to face the uncertainties through which we are going through and we should also adopt a positive thought process and view the world as positive and a place full of hope. I think in the world of uncertainties having a positive mindset led to a much happier life and this is the superpower that not only me but also the world should have, that is having a positive mindset.

Towards the end, while summing up and again talking about superpower we can say, although in movies and comics it is a superhuman ability where the protagonist has an ability which only he has and this led to him being the savior of the human race. But considering the present situation, the superpower which the humans require is the attitude of staying positive and the power of adapting to the new

era which the world is entering. It’s the superpower which the world requires the most at this time.

Adam is an ordinary young boy of 19. One day he woke up from his sleep with an extraordinary gift. Something which he couldn’t believe; something that he couldn’t even imagine. He can fly!

After reading these lines, do you remember anything?

In our childhood, at least once, almost all of us must have heard of the stories of superpowers and superheroes. Whether from grandparents or from parents, or have read a chapter in our school’s English text book, but somewhere we must have read or heard of it.

It used to feel so fascinating that how a person suddenly gets extraordinary powers and then starts to save the world.

As a child I also had a dream of becoming a superhero and saving the world. Sometimes I remember myself jumping from a height and trying to fly as a superhero; some people can relate, I guess.

If I think of a superpower I should have, then it must be courage.

If I had this superpower then there are many changes which I would have made in our world.

There are many people on our planet who are very poor and don’t even have enough money so that they can have a proper meal even once in a day. This is the first thing which I would want to change with the help of my super power. The way I would change this situation would not be as simple as just moving my hand and saying some magical words as we see in cartoons, movies or read in our story books and everyone will get money. The way would have been as extraordinary as my power. I would try to remove the existence of money so that there are no more troubles for the poor.

There will be no money at all, people can take whatever they want and whatever they need without buying it or giving any amount of money. Doing so, according to me, would remove the gap between the rich and poor. No one will be rich and no one will be poor, all will be just humas.

Each day we get to know about so many fighting and murder cases and see people admitted in hospitals.

The second thing which I would have changed is the mindset of each and every person on this planet. By removing the system of money, only half of the problem can be controlled, as most of the criminals and murderers don’t do all these willingly, their needs force them to do so. For the remaining crime, I would try to make people understand that this planet is our only home and we all humans are family members.

I would also like to change the current scenario of our world. As we all know that nowadays each and every being is suffering from the fear of being a COVID patient. I would try to change this by making them understand that by not following the protocols, they are not harming anyone else but it’s they themselves and their loved ones who are being harmed.

Then I would try to change our country’s study system or rather, would like to modify it a little bit.

Every day we hear about a lot of suicides done by young students. The reason behind all this is a huge syllabus, a lot of pressure, not doing well in their exams and many more.

I would like to modify our education system in such a way that students of the same age as well as with almost the same IQ are put in the same class and not just put the students of the same age in a class. As this would make it easier for the students to understand the concepts and even for the teachers to explain. Students can more easily mingle with their classmates and there would also be very less bullying of students.

But here, I am not degrading our study system, rather I am just highlighting the fact that there is still a lot of scope of improvement through which our study system can meet up to the aspirations of each and every person.

Modifying the study system will only do half of the job, for the rest half I would change the mindset of the parents. I do believe that it’s not wrong to have high aspirations from their children, but not that high that their children start to suicide. Researches have shown that, 4 out of 10 students suicide just because they are not being able to reach upto the aspirations of their parents. We know that not all the parents are like this but there are some, and I will try to change the mindset of those.

There are many more things which I can write about, but if I start listing all those one by one then this whole life will be insufficient for me.

There are so many superpowers I have heard about but the reason that I chose this power is that, there is no proof that whether those powers truly exist or not and are often considered as imaginary. But this superpower is not something which is imaginary and even not something which we are not sure about.

The superpower which I chose is something which actually exists, and not only me, each and every human can have this power as it is nothing but our own courage. Just what we all need is courage which we fail to gather.

I thought about how to imagine myself having such a superpower which I am not sure about, as otherwise my essay would just have been a mere writeup with no actual existence. I wanted to write something whose existence I am sure about. This superpower is something which we can’t question about ourselves, as we are sure that this is possible.

I wish I could actually have this superpower; courage, courage to speak freely whatever I want, courage to express myself in whichever way I want, without fearing, courage to express my thoughts to the whole world, but this is something which I fail to gather.

Lucky I are those people who have this superpower.

But I am also not an unlucky person, as I believe I will also one day have this power in reality and I will be a superhero of real life and will be able to fulfil all these wishes.

WHAT IS A SUPERPOWER?

Superpower is a concept or an idea. It is perhaps introduced by some set of people with some objective in their mind.

As a child we read about different stories or watched different videos on the mobile that showed us different types of superpowers.

Powers to be invisible, power to fight fire or power to fly high in the sky.

Are these powers real or imaginary?

As of date there is no proven evidence about any method of gaining a superpower. But there are a lot of examples which are close to the effect of superpowers.

What are these examples? There are incidents of escaping dangerous accidents or stories of winning a huge amount in the lottery.

Some real stories even indicate the cure of deadly diseases without the suitable medication.

There are people who have written or video recorded about humans flying or walking on the water and such capabilities are sold as superpowers to market some products or services.

It is very important to be extra careful when we come across such news or information.

ACQUIRING THE SUPERPOWER…

Saving a child from drowning in a pond with the right presence of mind is no different than demonstrating a super power.

Spending your life to save trees, innocent animals and forests is another good example of a superpower that makes the Earth a beautiful place.

Is it possible to gain such strengths, for common people? Of Course yes! The first step to gain such power is to know your own strength.

When one is clear about the capability he or she has, one is clear about the passion he or she possesses, then it is easy to collect supporting powers to make your power a superpower.

Nothing can be as valuable as the support from your true buddies to elevate your strength. If you know that you can sing well, then make friends with hard working musicians and instrument players.

They are the ones who will make you shine and refine your own strength to look like a wonder.

Your music could then bring happiness to many people, it can even heal people who are depressed or even bring joy to young orphan children who aspire to learn good things in life.

Give a strong fight against unfair or wrong practices and this deed of your’s can work as a superpower. Not to tolerate any abuse, discomfort, injustice and voice out against it freely or stay strong to believe in yourself and not budge against such acts. This is a superpower, one can strive to acquire.

Today, in the world there are several events of violence, threats and harm to innocent living beings.

Coming together, getting stronger and pushing back against all such evil powers will bring peace, we are in need of. No power can beat the power of an ethical and fair group of people when they stand together.

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE SUPERPOWER NEEDED?

Fulfillment of the need at the right time, right place and for right living beings is a superpower.

Such are needed in countries like Afghanistan to fight against the crime happening against women.

Powers are required to overpower diseases like COVID 19 and get rid of the threat to mankind.

Super power in the form of pure water, hygienic nutritious food and shelters is needed in countries like Africa where small children are dying with malnourishment.

Slap the rich and careless people on their face who are spending money on drugs, fancy cars and high cost accessories without thinking about the financially poor community residing not so far from them but may be in the same neighbourhood.

Powers are needed to wipe out the racism and Caste system to bring all the living beings under a single roof.

It is just not right to let people shiver in the cold or rain while some fraudsters enjoy the beers at the bars.

There are frauds happening each day.  The taxpayers money is spent carelessly by a few selfish beings. Where is this money going? For their  diamonds rings, perfumes, and lavish weddings.

If common people come together leaving their personal differences aside to teach lessons to these capitalists, that will be recognized as a true superpower.

Such powers will last forever, it is just a matter of you and me getting together.

Our first target should be the so-called celebrity personalities. Make them topple at the position they are standing with a nice sparking smile on their face for the photo shoot, make them understand what it is like when they affect the younger generations by their fake celebrity status. Believe it or not, they are the people who are involved in the worst cat fights at their homes. They have nothing higher than their status and their looks.

It is a time to create history, it is a time to practice these powers of pulling them down on the ground from their beautifully decorated homes.

Let us support each other to bring these shining and glittering scarecrows in their so-called branded clothes and shoes. Let them fall down, let them walk barefoot and let them face the heat from the sun.

Shady sunglasses suit shady individuals.

People pulling carts in the burning Sun, farmers ploughing in the heavy rain or vendors selling vegetables, are the people with superpowers. They do not need Sunglasses to pull the cart, they do not need rain coats to work in the field or they do not use laptops to compute the total vegetable bill.

If you can bring a smile on the faces of these innocent souls, then there is no power needed. It will be a happy, joyful and peaceful world with no sufferings.

WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?

Stop following celebrities on social media, go to villages and follow the footsteps of the farmers working hard there.

Go to small children surviving on some street selling and teach them to read and write. Give them aspirations to grow.

Go to the kitty parties and make the mothers realize that their children love them the way they are. They don’t need attractive makeup to impress them.

Time is flying and we all can fly too, just the right attitude matters.

If I had a superpower, I would have given good mental health to all the human beings in this world as an inbuilt feature by birth. It is because, as we know, mental health is very crucial for a person to live peacefully and in a comfort zone. If it is not in good state, then entire life gets disturbed, because of which it can result in unemployment and conflicts in family which in turn disturbs the entire professional and personal life of a person.

It can cause severe behavioural, emotional and physical health problems which in turn can lead to various non-communicable diseases and depression which in further has a link to various chronic illnesses like diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease etc.

In general, what a person speaks, thinks depends on the current mental health status of that person. If an individual has good mental health, then he/she will have self-confidence that makes them achieve anything on this planet.

Mental and physical stress are some of the main reasons for causing a disturbance in mental health of an individual. It can affect the relationship between two people, families, partners, children etc which results in weak bonding between them. Too much anxiety and depression is very dangerous. People with disturbed mental health try to stay away from family, peers and others, because of the stigma that is created in them. If a single person in a family is affected with disturbed mental health, then it can cause pressure on the entire family which makes them suffer every day, until unless the affected person comes to a normal state of life. In case if the affected person is the breadwinner of the family, then the entire life of the family gets disturbed.

Each and every person on this planet should understand one thing, that is, a result can be positive or negative, it’s like two sides of a coin, so we need to accept all the positives and negatives that we encounter in each and everyone’s life every day. Only then can we live peacefully and happily. Human beings shouldn’t stick to the same thing and think of it multiple times and in multiple ways in case of a bad or negative situation. No one knows when we are going to leave this world, the only thing we can do in the present scenario is stop comparing your life with others, then you can automatically find permanent solutions that repairs and refreshes your mind and further provides you with a good mental life. This is one way to protect your mental health.

With my super power I would have given good mental health to all the people in this entire world irrespective of caste, religion, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, occupation etc, which would further reduce health issues, suicides. The mortality rate of people suffering from severe mental health issues would reduce. So, my special super power is like a preventive super power, as prevention is always better than cure in terms of everything and anything.

CONCLUSION:   I have chosen mental health as a super power to me because it is very important in every stage of a human life, as human beings are considered as the future productivity of the global economy. If their mental health is disturbed, then everything collapses. I have especially seen many lakhs of families in our world who suffered a lot with mental health issues due to the pandemic. This pandemic taught us good and bad lessons in many ways. People suffered a lot due to insufficient oxygen supply in the hospitals, huge cost in availing health care services, no sufficient ambulances, the cost of many medicines has increased too much, the demand was more but the supply was very less, the affordability, feasibility became a problem to many people globally, which created tension in them. The saddest part is, many lost their loved ones in this pandemic, because of which entire family life and mental health was disturbed a lot. It’s a life time pain for them, which couldn’t be handled so easily and created disturbances to their mental health in many ways. It’s affecting much and more day by day and killing people more and more globally. Hence it is necessary to address mental health issues and find solutions to solve those issues. It’s not just finding solutions that are temporary, it should be sustainable solutions that can help for the future too.

Have you ever imagined having Doraemon in real Life? Well, As I was watching the Doraemon series, a thought popped up in my mind. ” Why is Doraemon only meant for Nobita ! Can’t I try using his super-duper device at least once ? So these were the questions that popped in my mind every time after watching the series.

I hope many of us would think the same after watching the series. Wait, Can you guess who I am talking about? Well, Doreamon is a Robotic cat from the 22nd century, He can do extraordinary things that no man can do. He is blue, with googly eyes and a long thin mustache.

His appearance often resembles a raccoon. One of the main purposes of Doraemon is to help the people all over the world with his devices.

So now, I just imagine myself being with Doreamon, And now my hands are becoming curious to know what is inside his four dimensional pocket. Wow!! Look at these, these are some of the All-time best devices of Doraemon that I found out from his four Dimensional pocket.

1. Anywhere Door : As the name suggests you can go anywhere and anytime.

2. Time Machine: Take you to the past and future as Well.

3. Konyako Konyako: You can speak fluently using this device.

4. Memory toast : you can easily memorize everything within seconds.

5. Table Cloth: It can provide you with your favorite food.

6. Take a copter : Makes you fly Like superman to anyplace.

7. Big Light and Small Light: Big Light makes you gigantic, and Small Light can shrink you in any size that you prefer.

8. Obtaining Bag : This bag enables you to get whatever you think.

9. Arrow of Love : Anyone who’s hit by this arrow will fall in love with the person who made the shot.

10. Animal Crackers : These are crackers shaped like animals. You’ll transform into the animal that you ate!

It’s amazing, isn’t it ?

So if I had a Robot Like Doraemon, the very first thing that I would do is to clear out all the deadly diseases like greed for money and power. And then I would make the world a better place to Live in using Doraemon’s devices.

For e.g., I can shrink myself easily by using Doraemon’s small Light, and then I can bring out all the hidden crimes that are going around the World, without the knowledge of People.

The World is sometimes a happy place to Live in, and sometimes it’s not. Especially the surrounding Animals are not given a proper place to Live in, No matter where they go.

So, How can I protect them ??? By Using Doraemon’s Device ” The Small Light “I can shrink all the wild animals into small creatures, and then I can take them to a better place using the “Anywhere Door ” where no man can disturb those Wild Animals and do no harm to them.

Many at times, I have thought of going to a country of my own with a free of cost. As normal and middle class person, I will not be able to afford so much to visit my dream country. So if I had a Robot Like Doraemon, I would use his ” Anywhere Door ” to visit my dream countries at no cost. And you know, I will also become one among the people who travel to many countries without a penny.

Wait ! What If I face a Language Barrier in the country that I am visiting! I no Longer worry about that,

Because, I have Doraemon’s “Konyako Konyako”, a translation tool, where I will be easily able to speak and understand the language.

I consider the biggest difficulty is to memorize the subjects especially when it is a boring subject. Do you have the same difficulty ? Well, I need not worry about it. ” Memory toast ” is a slice of bread where I can easily copy my texts.

All I have to do is to eat up the slice of Bread.

No more Memory Loss, No more Early mornings and No more Late Nights and cent percent results in all my subjects.

The streets where I live are quite congested, and We have so many small and poor children in our streets.

All I want to do for them is to provide their favorite food at least once using Doraemon’s Table Cloth device. All I have to do is to tell the Food, and instantly I will get my delicious food ready on the table.

There are so many possible numbers of things that can be done by an Individual for the Welfare of others and himself as well. So I consider these as some ways I can use Doreamon and his devices in a good sense.

We are living in this world, where each breath is precious. Do you ever think about the things you’ll do in the afterlife? I bet never. So why don’t we make each second count while we are aboard on this beautiful ship called life. Unfortunately, many people amongst us are not that lucky. Do you guys know about genetic mutations? If not then let me enlighten you upon this devil which is getting powerful day by day. I hope you have read in school about DNA i.e., our genetic material which carries all the information about what you will look like when your parents will welcome you into this world. Brown hair, blue eyes or red hair, green eyes, everything is controlled by the genes in our DNA. Just think about how fascinating it is. So, you might be wondering then where this mutation comes in if copying of DNA is so simple. Actually, it is a very complex process and each gene should be copied exactly the same to function efficiently. Let me explain to you guys with an example. As you know, our red blood cells are essential for our survival but a mutation in these results in a disease named sickle cell anemia in which their activity is reduced. And there is no permanent cure for this. Another example is that of cystic fibrosis, which affects our lungs and the person is not able to breathe properly. These are the general things that we all take for granted. Do we ever think that yeah, we need to take in oxygen now and exhale carbon dioxide? We never do that because we never cared about it. But the patients suffering from this disease know the importance of lungs and each single breath they take from their oxygen cylinder that they need to carry with them all the time. They cannot do any such activity that will put pressure on their lungs and can otherwise prove to be fatal. Like doing sky diving or running to the mountain top. I remember watching the movies such as Five Feet Apart and The fault in our stars which highlights those facts which we never thought of or we never pay heed to. A small error in copying the genetic material and boom you get a disease which might don’t have a permanent cure and you never know how long you would survive. This is truly heartbreaking. Then a bigger monster called cancer comes into play. Sometimes it rises because of the genetic mutations and sometimes due to the induced ones. Our eating habits are changing, we are more into the synthetic or artificial stuff and drifting away from the natural things. The so-called modernization is resulting in tremendous changes in the environment. The effect of radiation, drinking alcohol which is more of a show off culture nowadays just like doing smoking and drugs. Where are we heading to by indulging ourselves in these activities? The answer is that we are inviting this devil to come and harm us. Being a science student and a researcher, I have seen people, even children, fighting like a brave soul. They take all the prescribed antibiotics, regular chemotherapies, different tests and this list is never ending. They don’t even know whether they will be able to live like a normal person or not. Therefore, I want to become a superhero rather than a superwoman named “Mutation Healer”. It would be so amazing to genetically remove the wrong combination of genes and insert the new ones. Just a few minutes of twirling my hands, the magical lights coming and the person is healed. Now, no longer restrictions, no medicines, no worries about dying early and the world will just have love and happiness. One more thing I would do would be reversing climate change. I think I need to take help from some other superhero for that, just kidding. But definitely I will make the people aware about what impact our activities are having on us and deteriorating the quality of life. How the people suffering from various diseases are dying, leaving behind their families in immense pain and regret of not being able to save their loved ones. I guess being a superwoman, people will listen to me even more as they hear the motivational speakers and people trying to make them aware about these real facts. I know people usually dream of having such superpowers which can make them powerful, rich or something just related to themselves. We are actually becoming selfish. Selfless service for the betterment of mankind is decreasing and this makes me very unhappy. I try as much as I can to help the needy people on my basis but if I ever get a chance to have some superpowers, I will definitely make the best use of it. I just wish and pray to get some soon.

The superpower I desire the most would surely be the magical ability to cure diseases by a simple touch just like perhaps the ability of King Midas to turn whatever he laid his hands on into gold!

Indeed, with the Covid-19 pandemic and millions of deaths worldwide, it is my fervent wish to be able to help all those in acute pain or those who are at the edge of life. Would it be amazing to have the power to relieve someone from overwhelming suffering again so that he can once more taste the blessing of a healthy life and the priceless feeling of ecstasy? Needless to stress on how we would be in capacity of saving our loved ones and of saving others as well in a way of grieving and mourning.

Admittedly, for a plethora of diseases like dementia, cancer or neurological sickness, there is no unfortunately no available antidote. If I had a superpower then, I would like to cure them in an instant and wash away all those hours, days or years of pain. Above all, my superpower could prevent them from taking the tragic step of euthanasia or even suicide. Coupled to that, by curing someone magically, I really feel as if I have also cured his loved ones as well from the sadness and anxiety they nourished inside themselves for their sick relative. Undeniably, such a superpower, for me, can quintessentially contribute to a better world and does not necessarily benefit only oneself.

What also renders me ebullient about this superpower is the fact that people would admire me and consider me as their saviour, as a gift from God and a sparkle of hope in their life. Without an iota of doubt, I strongly wish to note the magical metamorphosis of people from their pain to that of joy and salvation. Once, I also had a mysterious dream where I was saving wounded animals in a forest. A smile emerged on my face as I saw the broken wings of a bird be cured in the blink of an eye and it was my doing! No doubt this superpower makes me feel like a fairy, whose mission is to obliterate anyone’s overbearing injuries.

When I was younger, my mother died due to cancer and I always prayed to God before her death to confer me the power of being able to save her, or fighting the disease for her. No one deserves to suffer and no one’s blood deserves to be shed. This makes me wonder whether by curing people magically, if immortality could be attained. Interestingly, this power could epitomise the key in the prevention of future pandemics. We could spare people hours of pain and apprehension. Such a gift from God would make me the happiest person alive and I thought that other people would have perhaps misused the power by choosing who or not to cure based on bias and injustice. Upon my readings, I also fear that this power could be utilised as a way to counter death. As such, this power may make some feel like they are God and if I had it, I would ensure that those who really need my supernatural capacities and help would obtain it promptly. The perspective of resembling a doctor without having studied the domain substantially fascinates me. By having such a superpower, doctors would go jobless! The idea makes me laugh but as someone who is scared of blood, I greatly want this power so that I can treat patients in my own way.

What else would make me the luckiest person on earth other than seeing people begin to enjoy life once again? I no longer want to look at people laying down in hospital beds in sheer misery and hopelessness. I no longer want lonely people to be buried by members of the staff, without loved ones saying goodbye to them. The superpower I dream of may not be as thrilling and adventurous as teleportation, telepathy or being able to create thunder with one’s bare hands, but it has the priceless ability to make people taste the gift of life once more. In a world as harsh and cruel as today, I want a superpower that makes a difference, that aids people strive towards happiness and be grateful for not material things but for their own physical and mental health first! Yes, my superpower will be able to cure mental health issues like bipolar or depression! Because each one of us deserves the world and nothing less!

I am headed towards two contradictory signs:

“Welcome to Islam Street.”

The Korean Hanja slowly fades away from restaurant awnings, street signs, and grocery stores, and is replaced by the unfamiliar Arabic. A devout few shuffle up the steps of the Islam Street mosque, their hasty footsteps echoing through the eerie emptiness of the street on a sweltering July afternoon.

“Islam Street Reconstruction Plans Passed, District Plans to Bulldoze in 2022.”

South Korean residents were forced to sacrifice their properties for the “greater good” of an urban redevelopment project at the beginning of 2020. New footsteps, filled with hope, filled the silent void with their longing for home back in Somalia, Liberia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, and Malaysia.

“They” are the refugees.

“Home”

“Home” was “the only name, a word, a strong one, stronger than [a] magician ever spoke, or spirit answered to, in strongest conjuration,” that could untie the twisted knot in my stomach during my first year of boarding school. My train ride to the Chicago O’Hare airport during summer vacation for my flight back home was marked by relief, elation, and nostalgia. A fateful ping on my iPhone alerted me to a CNN article titled, “‘Why Are They Doing This?’ Refugees’ Tough Questions.” Who were they? What was the reason?  My questions were soon answered through horrifying stories marked by moments of uncertainty, a reimagining of identity, and resilience in the face of trauma. 19.5 million seeking refuge from roads full of dead corpses through smugglers who prized money over human lives. Those who made it, struggling to cling onto their last bit of hope, were barely surviving in overcrowded refugee camps in countries that were coldly uninviting. I realized that South Korea, my home country, was just as unwelcoming of refugees as the countries I had read about. Xenophobic hysteria screamed “Job stealers!” “Women killers!” “Rapists!” at Yemeni refugees struggling to find a place of belonging outside of their war-torn country. The government settled refugee families into abandoned neighborhoods that were already planned to be bulldozed by the municipality, which stamped their identities as temporary, unimportant, and unwanted, like the empty buildings they were given to occupy.

Dickens was right. It was neither a magician nor a spirit conjurer. It was “home” that escorted me as a volunteer into a refugee NGO in Seoul named “pNan,” meaning “refuge,” in Korean.

Could not, would not, should not

I see shards of a broken television strewn on the side of the street. Torn furniture, musty blankets, and dirty cardboard boxes are haphazardly tossed in front of dilapidated homes. The All Nations Children’s School for Refugees is my destination. I reach a poorly constructed school with cracked floorboards, deteriorating walls, and second-hand school equipment. A sign on the wall encourages in bolded black letters: “Let’s be with a hand in hand”.

The flutters of innocent laughter and light footsteps crowd the alleyway where the school is jammed in between two brick buildings. Five faces, freckled with the imprint of kisses left by the last days of summer, look up at me. Five pairs of eyes that are dark pools of childhood inquisitivity, question me. Five lips that part to breathe out words in a familiar Korean dialect, greet me like a longtime friend whom I am surprised to see. I feel a pang of sadness for the young, temporary inhabitants of this place. But underlying this sharp pang of sadness is a deeper gong of guilt, which ripples and echoes through my Korean-ness.

 The Palace, The Sanctuary

I approach a newly renovated white building that is the neighborhood library– the palace for the people, a sanctuary for the refugees.

The doors open. A sweet and musty smell of old books, redolent of dust and worn pages, surrounds the air, welcoming me in with its embrace. Young children flip through tattered books to enter the world of fantasy. Superheroes, fairies, imaginary far-far-aways, and once-upon-a-times patiently await them. Teenagers log into laptops to step into dreams. Online school lessons about biology sprout aspirations to listen to the thumps of a human heart with a stethoscope. YouTube vlogs about “A Day in the Life of a Pilot” bloom reveries about traveling the world with the wings of a mechanical bird. Middle-aged men type on desk computers to be slapped with reality. They fill in the blanks to register for their refugee status on desk computers. Get the answer correct, and you might be granted entry in the distant future. Get the answer incorrect, and you will be denied.

Hope

My footsteps purposefully promenade along Islam Street, pushing aside discarded plastic takeout cups and billowing plastic bags to take me to the bus that would carry me home. They slow to linger behind a mother, wrapped in a blue hijab, pushing a worn stroller towards a mosque. I watch the last remnants of the sun twinkle on the pearly white dome in front of her, immersed in the rhythmic lull of evening prayers. I breathe in the sweet smell of freshly cooked rice wafting from the front stoop of my apartment door. I am home– a magical word that the children of refugees on Islam Street would not know for a long time, and one that their parents would long for. The present has failed us. It is the unknown future to which we hold our hope.

Having a superpower comes with different benefits and disadvantages when aligned with how one perceives the best way to use it. In one Marvel comic book, “Spiderman,” Uncle Ben tells Peter Parker before his death the famous quote: “with great power comes great responsibility.” However, having the idea that a superhero must help prevent disasters by intervention would show that I would have the function of the police department and these are big responsibilities that one person should never bear the burden of. Judging someone to be good or evil is in the hands of a higher being and abusing that position to my own judgment would definitely set back a lot of what our world has strived to achieve. Therefore, my superpower would be to reverse any damages or situations back to their original positions.

Superpowers seem to be blessings because they show or describe an amplified human trait or something well beyond our imagination, such as mind-reading or time traveling. To have such abilities would enable someone to hold great influence over others, whether it may be for the better or for worse. However, the process of choosing which superpower was actually very difficult because I had to knock out more superpowers than I wanted. For example, mankind has dreamed about flight for all of its history, but do we really want to swallow a fly on the way to school or possibly be shot down for being mistaken for identified aircraft? Mind reading seems so perfect as a superpower but the fact that I am invading someone’s privacy and reading their thoughts would give me my own trust issues. So personally, I would use my superpower to help mankind but in a very linear fashion. Having the power to revert back time to heal people would allow me to solve some of humanity’s biggest problems, such as cancer and other crises.

Cancer has plagued humanity since the beginning of time. According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 40% of both men and women will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetimes. With the current mortality rate of cancer, we could see around 600,000 deaths this year in the United States alone. If I had the power to heal these wounds and ailments, I would be able to solve the plague of cancer that has riddled our society for generations. The suffering and pain of cancer has brought about many con artists and shamans who purport that they can cure cancer but resort to fraud and abuse. I can put an end to those predatory practices and help them not suffer both physical and mental and spiritual problems.

World hunger has become such a pivotal problem in today’s modern times as third-world countries are victims of worldwide famine. However, it’s not simply isolated to these countries as even rich countries such as the United State and South Korea battle with homelessness and hunger on a daily basis. The root of world hunger comes in the form of deficient agricultural policies and unsustainable growth of crops. The entire cause for world hunger is based on bottleneck situations where land cannot match the production rates because of deprived nutrients in its soil. A lot of farmers cannot keep producing food because they have to switch lots because of fragile soils. With the power to revert back to past conditions, I could optimize the logistics of crop management and agricultural policies, creating a sustainable food source that malnourished areas of the globe could utilize. Especially because much of the human wars have begun from fighting over fertile land, I can also end these wars. I would be able to end the shortages by providing abundant food and healing the lands literally for nutrients that would be able to produce healthy food around the clock.

Climate change has been a problem for the world and has come back in recent days with bigger problems such as ice caps melting. CFCs, which are used as refrigerants, leak into the atmosphere, breaking down ozone and, in the process, allowing more UVB radiation to penetrate the Earth’s atmosphere. With no alternative coolant available, CFCs are currently dissolving our atmosphere and our earth is dying as a result. With my superpower to revert back to original conditions, I can safely return the ozone layer into its healthy shape and rid the atmosphere of toxins and carbon dioxide that support global warming. These climate changes have led to so many horrible consequences such as gigantic forest fires so this would be an opportunity for me to heal Mother Nature to her original healthy roots. The global environment would become a safer place to call our home and we would be able to push forth other important agendas in our political arenas.

With my superpower of reverting things back to their original state, I could possibly cure cancer, end world hunger, and even solve the climate crisis. Our world leaders today seem so indifferent to these current issues even though we see these over and over again in our news. I would use my powers to benefit the world and end its biggest problems so we can make other efforts that form unity and inclusivity for everyone. Our world faces many threats in many forms, and under the current circumstances, we need a superpower that is not self-serving but can help the world understand one another.

Sometimes, you hear people speak of telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, invisibility, and super strength. The first thing popping into mind is how cool all those things would be.

I mean, wouldn’t it just be cool to walk through people and they can’t see you? That way, you can get to do whatever it is you please. Perhaps, it would be cooler to teleport and save yourself time and money when using transportation. Don’t forget super speed and fast reflexes. It would take you less time to get things done, than an average human.

With telepathy, you can read the minds of everybody. I bet you would never get cheated or hurt, when you can already tell what they are thinking. Then telekinesis would save you the hassle of getting up to pick up the remote, whenever you need to change the channel. From the comfort of your couch, you can bring things closer to you.

Hear me out…..

But, have you ever considered the ability to spread happiness? Like a force of attraction, consciously that pops the concept of joy into the minds of others.

Might be pretty plain, but as I said, hear me out.

The whole concept of superpowers was to use them for the greater good. There’s one thing all super villains have in common, and that is the fact that they use their powers to hurt rather than save. People only called the others heroes because their super abilities were used towards helping mankind.

What use is telepathy if you cannot stop a person from overthinking? Or invisibility when you can’t be seen during the times that matter? What use is telekinesis, if it cannot fetch you happiness right from the comfort of your couch.

Diseases and illnesses are deadly, sure. Beyond any doubt they are. But, there’s a real killer, worse than this and that’s mental health issues. It ranges from depression to PTSD, emotional trauma and assault. That’s the real killer but sadly there isn’t any superpower for that yet.

According to the global World Health Organization {WHO}, over 300 million people worldwide are drowning in depression. It’s so common and now considered to be a daily occurrence. According to statistics, 5.0% of adults are suffering from depression.

Recently, depression has become more feared than a pandemic, disease, or disorder. It is now the cause of disability. Depression has a psychological and traumatic effect on its victims. Yes, it can be fought and avoidable but how are you supposed to control the things that happen to you? How are you to control your mind’s reaction and the burden overlapping?

Worse still, there are different forms /types of depression. It ranges from major depression, persistent depression, bipolar disorder, unipolar disorder, seasonal affective disorder, postpartum depression, clinical depression, and many more.

In this century, a villain is no longer that thief who robs the bank. Ever considered depression to be a thief too? It’s a robber of joy. Know why it’s more deadly? Because there is no respect for a person, age, class, or gender. Regardless of who you are, you are prone to what it wields. It attacks and takes with it all things possible. Daily, we lose people who fought against this villain and lost. That’s a new supervillain we should look into. A different face with different antics. It starts from oblivion to denial, rejection, and then exhaustion. A very swift, yet long and stressful process.

You ask what superpower I would like to have?

If I was privileged to harness a superpower, then it would be something along these lines. I would call myself the “ Proliferater of bliss.”

When I meet a person, I don’t want to know what you’re thinking in your mind. Instead, I would be interested in seeing what lurks in your heart. The burdens you are bearing. With a click of my tongue, a twinkle of an eye, and a flick of my wrist to take it away. It wouldn’t be that much of a process, and would not involve much physical contact. Rather, a heart-to-heart communication. From my heart to another’s.

The joy I spread to a person, is the same the person would spread to another, and another, and another until it becomes a globe of positivity. Yes, this might be a bit far-fetched but isn’t that why every other superpower is also a fantasy? Imagine a world, where we are free from the hurt that weighs us down. Simply because you have the power to make someone’s heart gleam.

Now, I bet that’s a superpower worth having.

Had it been a question to a ten year old kid, a common reply of being an avenger and saving the world would have been there for sure. When we talk about getting superpowers, there are all sorts of replies from people of different age groups. For some people, superpower might be to fly in the sky; for some it would be to get an ‘anywhere door’ to reach places. While some might wish to get superman powers or be like robin-hood to the society others might aim for being the Richie- rich of this century.

To have a ‘real superpower’ that is truly beneficial not only to oneself but everyone, it is important to note the ultimate goal of a person. Now is that goal from any of the mentioned above? Surely not. It is also true that a life goal is not something that one can decide at once. It takes a lot of introspection. Come on! After all, we all have had a tough time deciding streams and courses in our high school and college life. So the question is , what is the ultimate goal of a person? Well, we all know the answer but fail to give it the due importance, be it bagging the best placement in college or being your own boss. In fact, whatever a person does is directly or indirectly to achieve this ultimate goal! And it is none other than HAPPINESS!

Yes, its happiness! No matter what we do, we aim for being happy in the end. So, if I had a superpower, that would be to be happy and to spread happiness in the whole world. Because once you are happy, nothing else matters.

What may be happiness for one may not necessarily mean happiness for someone else. This is because happiness is a highly subjective term that varies from person to person. The very connotation of this word is instinctive. It is not true that rich people are always happy and have no pain in life; at the same time it is also not true that poor or middle class people are always unhappy. It is just a matter of different perspectives. There is a famous saying, ‘Money can’t buy happiness’. While some may adhere to it, there will be people who object to this by using ‘money’ as a medium to get contentment. For them, application of money for a Dubai trip is enough to satisfy the want of happiness in life. Whatever may be the case, the ultimate goal remains the same: to be elated. Thus, I wish to get this superpower of staying happily contented , and spreading happiness to the entire world.

Happiness should never be confused with a smile or laughter. Smile or laughter of a person does not always mean that a person is genuinely happy. People may fake a smile to hide their pain and show the world how good Eccedentesiasts they make. Thus, it is important to value real happiness. Moreover, it is not important for a person to have a happy face to manifest happiness. A person may also cry out of merriment when overpowered by emotions. Imagine a mother meeting her child after five years. There is no limit to such happiness accompanied by tears of joy. We also get happiness from the achievements of our loved ones ; this is exactly why parents wish for our success. Happiness may also be experienced from the success of a third person. Imagine an Indian cricket team winning against Pakistan in a world-cup. It is not less than Diwali for Indians. Even though no common man is affected as such from a cricket match, people experience an emotional attachment to India’s win or loss at a cricket match. And that is because there is no one particular source of happiness for a person, we want it and we strive for it every day, both consciously and subconsciously.

Having a superpower to change the world for myself and others is like a dream for me. What people need from life is quite a challenge in itself to track. Acquiring this superpower will help me solve my problems and get the ultimate gaiety I am in need of at a particular moment. I wonder when someone doesn’t wish to get pain or discomfort of any sort in their own lives, how can they remain silent at others’ malaise. Thus, after acquiring this superpower I shall escalate it for others’ benefit as well. Spreading happiness is such a divine thing in itself that would bring euphoria in one’s life; and I will be more than happy to have it. After all, it is a global assessment of life and all its facets.

Getting momentary happiness is very easy, but it is important to understand the true essence of it. Certainly, good times don’t last long and bad times don’t have their stains forever. But those good times can give us life time memories to adore. It is true that being in constant emotion will make one’s life monotonous and less appealing, thus, reducing the worth of happiness and joy in life. I as this superpower holder shall therefore use it with utmost diligence. This is because some people get happiness out of creating chaos and turmoil in the peaceful life of others. These sadist people can be the hunters, killing innocent animals to satisfy their callous drive, or the terrorists ready to disrupt the peace of other nations. Thus, it is important to address different perspectives and needs for happiness carefully before fulfilling their yearning.

Nevertheless, life is less about what happens to us and more about how we react to it. We should therefore, try to stay positive and have faith in ourselves. We are all aware that no such super power actually exists in the practical world. So, till I or anyone else acquires this imperium, let us use hegemon we all have in life, i.e. a beautiful mind to think, and an amazing soul to act in diverse situations. Thus, by using this real-life super power we all can make our lives bigger and better. Life is all about learning, so learn and grow every second. Happiness is not free out there, you have to strive really hard to get it as the demand is more and supply is less! Moreover, it vanishes before you even realize you had it. On account of this cherish the moments of happiness you have, since you never know what life’s having for you the next second. So, do make your every moment count, stay happy !!
