Most of us pamper our kids with unconditional love. Sometimes we don’t even bother about the mistakes that our child makes. Pampering is ok to some extent, but it should be in disciplinary approach.
Here comes the role of your parenting approach. Almost all of us follow our parent’s style of parenting. It is advisable to follow but difference of parenting is required.
What is parenting?
Today parenting is defined in two terms. One is the modern approach of parenting and the other is the traditional one.

Traditional parenting involves in different styles. One style of traditional parenting is an authoritarian approach. Generally, elders approach their kids by showing their authority to grow up as disciplined. Similarly, being unsupportive, permissible ways of traditional parenting is followed on those days.
Of course, being a parent; all of us try our parent’s style of parenting methods. It is an old generation move. However, it is not bad, but it is outdated nowadays. For example, in old parenting methods, child was punished strictly for their wrongdoings. It is a process of making their child disciplined. Kids got punishments, and restrictions on those parenting times to let them know the value of their doings.
This kind of environment is not seen today.
Modern parenting is an asset to know your children:
Being open and expressive minded is the major advantage with this parenting method. Clear communication is seen between a parent and child in this approach. In this method, children are rewarded greatly for their good deeds and allowed to correct their wrong deeds honestly. Moreover, current generation children are aware of their responsibilities. Such as, keeping their books, toys, and clothes well organized and some kids are also interested to learn about usual household chores in their holidays.

- Try to chill out with them during their playtime and spend time during their study hours.
- Also, you can see independent thinking, self-discipline and interests are noticed in today’s children. It is easily possible through modern parenting. Of course, it is even seen in the traditional approach, but which is not easily possible without family support.
This is how the current modern parenting helps you far better to make your child active in all aspects when compared to the old (traditional) approach.

Always remember that both modern and traditional parenting do have enough pros and cons. Being a parent, it is your role to adopt what kind of parenting suits your child. Sometimes one method is ok and sometimes you need to choose the other one. Supportive parenting enhances freedom and self-decision-making skills in your child. But ensure sometimes excessive freedom might kills respect and responsibilities upon something that’s really very important.
