“Health is wealth” is the known proverb. In my view, health is more than wealth. If one has good health means he or she can achieve whatever they want. Health includes not only physical; it is like overall well-being. Overall well-being includes physical, mental, social, environmental, lifestyle and preventive health.
The above mentioned different types of health names itself defining some meaning.
Physical health includes keeping the body in good condition through regular exercise, proper nutrition, adequate sleep and preventive care.
Mental health includes one’s mind and emotions. It copes with life challenges and to maintain positive relationships. Mental health awareness is increasing day to day among people and now they are seeing it equally important to physical health.
Social health involves a meaningful and healthy relationships and connections with others. Good social health contributes to person’s emotional and psychological balance.
Environment health include clean air, safe water, a healthy living space and reducing pollution are vital for maintaining good health.
Already we know, due to high pollution all over the world, our ozone layer is degrading its properties, I kindly request to organizations which strive for world health or growth through this platform that it is good to declare two or more days as Eco holidays for all the nations in the world per year and it is like they should not use anything which is a cause for pollution. This helps ozone layer to rejuvenate and most of the health issues will be reduced. This can be achieved surely with the help of world leaders and business people.
Regular check-ups, a balanced diet, physical activity comes under lifestyle and the preventive care and it is better to avoid harmful habits like smoking and drinking.
In Indian history, so many mantras or stotra’s like Dhanvantari, Mahamrityunjaya, Navagraha, Aditya hrudayam etc. are there to maintain health. Personally, I like or prefer Aditya hrudayam because sun is a source for everything.
India is famous for its culture, it comes from past means Purana’s, Veda’s, Upanishad’s etc. every aspect or miniature thing we can clear from the above. Atharva Veda is the one which includes hymns and references focussed on health, wellness and medicinal herbs.
One more important thing I would like to mention is Ayurveda, the holistic approach to health is the balance between mind, body and spirit to achieve optimal well-being.
In my view, Yoga is the important practice one should do. It helps us to improve overall well- being. There are multiple paths of yoga to attain overall well-being.
Hatha Yoga: Focused on physical postures(asana), breathing techniques(pranayama) and cleansing practices.
Raja Yoga (The Royal path): Focused on meditation and mental control.
Karma Yoga: Focused on selfless service and performing duties without attachment to results.
Bhakti Yoga (The yoga of devotion): Focused on love and devotion towards the divine.
Gnana Yoga (The yoga of knowledge): Focused on intellectual inquiry and self-awareness.
Tantra Yoga: Focused on rituals, mantras and energy control to awaken the kundalini (spiritual energy)
Ashtanga Yoga: Focused on dynamic and physical intense sequences of asanas
Kriya Yoga: Focused techniques for inner purification, including breath control and meditation
Mantra Yoga: Focused on recitation of sacred sounds or words (mantras)
All the above divisions of yoga are interconnected and approached to achieve physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Now-a-days, awareness about health is greatly improved all over the world. This happens after a pandemic. People are thinking about mental health also, compared to physical health. People are using technology in the field of health and they are using so many apps for their well-being. Apps like calm, head space and betterhelp improves one’s mental fitness and they can able to manage stress, anxiety and depression which are affecting people of all ages.
Wearables like smart watches, fitness trackers etc. are using to monitor about one’s health. This wearable health technology transformed personal health monitoring. Some devices offer advanced features like ECG monitoring, blood oxygen tracking and stress level measurement wearables improve preventive health care.
Telemedicine and remote health services are greatly increased because of pandemic. We can’t imagine the world without technology in pandemic in all aspects. Telemedicine allows patients to consult doctors virtually, reducing the need for physical hospital visits.
I would like to say that health is more important compare to any other aspects. If one’s health is good he is the master. Whatever he wants he will be. That is the power of health.
Once again, I would like to say about yoga. Over all well-being of human can be achieved by practicing Yoga. So, start practicing yoga and be a human who is rich in health. Good health leads to happiness.
All of the above, I can say that “Health is the Ultimate Asset”
