Diwali is Known as the Festival of lights. It is a hindu religious festival, but also celebrated between other religions. In sanskrit it is also Known as ‘Deepawali’ which means a ‘row of series of light’. It symbolizes “victory of light over datkness and good over evil”. Diwali is celebrated mosty in month of mid october and November.
The term Diwali is derived from sanskrit word “lamp, light”. It begins on day of Dhanteras. Díwali is usually celebrated twenty days after vijayadashami. Celebrants are prepared by cleaning, Renovating, and decorating their homes and wokplace. People light diyas and make Rangolis. Diwali is celebrated by decoratíng colourful Rangolis in houses. Rangolu can be of different designs. During Diwali, people wear finest clothes and light diyas in interior and exterior of their homes. In the day of Diwali, everyone worship Lord Laxshmi and Lord Ganesha. Evert home of Indian are dedicated to Lakshmi to welcome her into cleaned homes and to bring prosperity and hapíness with her.
Each religion has a different story. In one of main stories in hindu mythology, Diwali is the day when Lord Rama., his wife Devi Sita and brother Laksman returned to their homeland after 14 years of exile and defeating the evil King Ravana. Ayodhya is the birth place of Lord Rama . In exile, Loxd Sita was kidnapped by demom King Ravana, who was the king of Lanka. Rama and hís brother Laxman, fought for sita and rescued her after defeating ravana. The people of Ayodhyoa organized a grand ceremony on occasion of return of Lord Rama. People of Ayodhya lit up the whole Kíngdom with bríght lamps, diyas and fireworks. Sweets were distributed in every household. From that day, each year people celebrate diwali and the festival of Diwali came into existence.
Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, jains, sikhs and some Buddbists, mostly notably Newar Buddhist. People of Eastern India Diwali by worshipping goddess Kalí. People light fireworks and share gifts and sweets to relatives, friends and neighbors and to loved ones. The The day of festival of Diwali is an official holiday. Shops either do not open or close early so that everyone can celebrate with their family. Shopkeepers perform puja rituals in their shops with their family. Each yeok on day of Diwali people of shops of Ayodhya, lit diyas and celebrate diwali in a great way.
There were many sanskrit inscription in stone and copper mentioning Diwali. It has been discovered at numerous sites across India. During Diwali, many villages host fairs. In fairs, a variety of entertainment are usually available for people to enjoy. A major Shopping period in lndia is during díwali. It is the time when people buy new clothes, gifts, gold, diyas and crackers.
During Diwali the use of crackers cause burn injuries in India. Burning crackers witout precautions can lead to burn and injureies. It caused due to careless handling of crackers. Rocket is Considered as one of dangerous and harmful cracker.
Some crackers are Non- Biodeguadable. Such type of materials do not decay and cause soil pollution. Crackers also contain some elements and poisonous particles which contaminate to soil water making it unfit for drinking. In this way Crackers cause water pollution. Crackers cause injuries as well as pollution. It cause pollution like soil pollution, wate pollution, Air pollution and Noise pollution.
Burning of firecrackers usually takes place in the evening. Firecrackers can be fatal for animals. It cause more harful to animals. Many anímals like dogs, cats and birds flee in fear from deafening blast. Animals become confused and panic. It also cause emotional and psychological Problem. Birds and Animals have sensitive hearing. Animals scare due to continuous burst of crackers. The stray animals find difficult to hide in safe place. The lights can make them blind.
Bursting of crackers release toxic gases liKe sulphur oxide, Nitrogen oxide and Carbon dioxide and potassium and smog into atmosphere. It has been seen that bursting of crackers leads to an increase in PM 2.5 level, which is hazard. This make difficult for humans and animals to respire. It cause irritation to humans in their respiratory tract. It also causes allergies in skin. Delhi is considered to be more pollutant after Diwali. People find difficult to move freely in streets of delhi because gases in air make it difficult for them to breathe properly. The efect of crackers are long lasting. The poisonous gases released by crackers remain in air for long time period of time. These gases cause greenhouse effect and thus global warming.
So, everyone should use green crackers as green crackers cause less pollution as compared to other crackers. Gree crackers contains non polluting chemicals. So, one should use eco friendly crackers because it carry out less smoke and are less harmful. It is helpful to control pollution.
