The whole world, especially Indonesia, experienced a breakdown in order in an instant due to the corona outbreak. In March 2020 COVID-19 appeared in Indonesia, causing the government to make all kinds of regulations in an effort to prevent the spread of this deadly virus. All fields such as health, economy and education are experiencing serious impacts due to lockdown regulations or closing access in and out of areas. As time went by, everything underwent major changes until things returned to normal as they are now.
COVID-19 became the world’s topic of conversation that year, causing anxiety and fear. As time goes by, changes do occur. Starting from the discovery of a new disease in Wuhan, China in December 2019 called Coronavirus Disease 2019 or also called COVID-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This disease spreads very quickly, many patients are infected with COVID-19 and must isolate first. to prevent transmission. Apart from that, deaths due to COVID-19 are increasing every day. Mandatory health protocols are implemented everywhere to prevent an increase in patients. Always wear a mask, wash your hands with soap, keep your distance, stay away from crowds and reduce mobility. In order to control it, lockdown regulations began to be implemented in all Indonesian provinces. Because, a cure for this virus has not yet been found. However, as time goes by, all people are required to vaccinate against COVID-19 if they meet the requirements. If you leave the house during Covid-19, you are required to present a vaccine certificate as proof that you have been given the vaccine. Every day all television channels and social media without pause broadcast news about COVID-19, the number of COVID-19 patients, the number of deaths due to this virus. Makes the entire community feel afraid so that they obey existing regulations.
Due to feelings of anxiety and regulations such as social distancing, which means people have to limit activities outside the home. Tourism must close so no one visits. Apart from that, many businesses have to close down. Economic activity was disrupted and unstable, many lost their jobs. Triggers depression because needs are not met. Due to economic difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic which caused many people to lose their jobs, some people chose to take out online loans or even online gambling. Meanwhile, education during COVID-19 is not running optimally. Schools are conducted online, students and teachers do not meet face to face but the internet becomes an intermediary. Learning is said to be less than optimal because students do not understand the material given by the teacher or students have to study independently. Increases feelings of laziness due to the lack of strict supervision from teachers so that students are reluctant to do assignments. In fact, the time that should be used for studying is actually spent playing online games and scrolling through social media until we are addicted to playing with gadgets. We can see the negative impacts of this behavior to this day. As a result, individuals always play with gadgets even though there are people next to them who want to talk. Some people can lose their sense of self-confidence at the risk of social distancing by always being at home without meeting other people with whom they can communicate. Someone can also be lazy about doing productive activities. People are prohibited from gathering in crowds. With the implementation of restrictions on community activities, all forms of community activities must be stopped. Every day having to languish at home feels like being imprisoned. Rarely or even not seeing neighbors, friends, distant relatives for months. Rare direct communication means longing for normal life. This condition can make you feel uncomfortable or affect your mental health.
However, friendship can be maintained using digital technology. Society is starting to adapt, with online media making communication easier. Without needing to meet in person, someone can chat even remotely via the internet network. Providing solutions also in the fields of education and economics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, learning was carried out at home, learning was carried out online. Apart from that, some people also work from home using Zoom Meetings or other media. Buying and selling activities can be done online, where there is a courier who will deliver the goods. However, people can become consumptive and hedonistic because they are tempted by good things and easy transactions. There are changes, making everyone adapt to the development of digital technology. Apart from that, there is a large amount of hoax news circulating in society without prior filtering. The impact of the importance of gadgets during the pandemic has brought changes to this day. Indonesian people are dependent on gadgets to make all their work easier. Sadly, now young children are playing with gadgets. In fact, before the advent of gadgets, children were always happy to play with their peers playing traditional games such as hide and seek, gobak sodor, cublak-cublak suweng, engklek and many other children’s games that were no less exciting. It is rare to find young children today playing traditional games from the past. Most of them choose to be friends with gadgets until they become addicted. Lack of supervision from parents when children play with gadgets is a major factor in children’s deviant behavior. Due to the large number of indecent videos circulating, many children imitate these bad actions.
Even though life has returned to normal, the COVID 19 pandemic has had an extraordinary impact. Society must be able to start living a better life. Throw away negative behavior influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone must be wise.
