Kerala management admission test (KMAT) is a state-level entrance examination that is conducted for the Candidates who wish to pursue post-graduation programs such as Master of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), and Master of Computer Application (MCA).
Those who are interested to do your post-graduation in MBA, PGDM, or MCA now the first step is to qualify the entrance test. There may be admissions that some colleges only accept certain entrance exams. If you have already decided which college you want to study at, it is a good idea to take that specific test.
KMAT and MBA
KMAT Kerala 2020 is a gateway for admissions to various management colleges in Kerala. The exam is conducted by the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies. The Other Accepted MBA entrance tests are XAT, GMAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, NMAT, SNAP.
Eligibility Criteria KMAT 2020
- Candidates must have completed their 3 years bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Candidates who are belonging to the general category must have to attain 50%marks and the reserved category must have at least 40% marks of all subjects in their degree exam.
- Final year graduates can also eligible to apply by providing their graduation certificate as proof.
- There is no upper or lower age limit is mentioned for appearing KMAT Test.
About Exam Guidelines
- Mode of test: offline
- Mode of test: a paper-pen test where candidates have to mark their correct answers on am OMR sheet.
- Date of examination: Twice in a year (approximately February and June)
- Type of questions: there are four sessions with objective type questions;

- Fee base: For general categories Rs.1000
- For SEBC/SC/ST categories Rs.750.
- Minimum cut off mark is 108 for the general category; 72 for SC/ST category.
- Marking scheme: for each correct answers, 4 marks are allotted. There is negative marking according to KMAT Kerala Exam pattern. One mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
- Electronic devices calculator, mobile phone, iPad etc. are not allowed to use in the exam hall.
- Duration: two hours 30 minutes from10.30 to 12.30
KMAT Kerala Admission Procedure
There is a three-step process that is including filling up the KMAT Kerala application. It is a pen-paper test and is conducted on an online platform. The exam is conducted two times in a year candidates can choose as per their convenience.
STEP1: KMAT KERALA APPLICATION
Candidates must have to fill the online application form from KMAT Kerala official website https://kmatkerala.in. From the scheduled date.

STEP: 2 ONLINE REGISTRATIONS –BASIC PERSONAL DETAILS
This is the first phase of registration. Here, you have to provide your basic personal details such as the name of the applicant, date of birth, gender, fee category, and email id, etc.
Fee category;
General category: 108 out of 720 marks (15% )
SEBC category: 72 out of 720 marks (10%)
SC/ ST category: 54 out of 720 marks (7.5%)
After filling the above fields then click on the SBMIT button to generate UAN .
Candidates can take a print copy of the page for future reference.
Note: Before selecting the fee category candidates who make sure that he/she belongs to which category. If the candidates choose the incorrect category the test may be disqualified. So make sure that your selected option is correct.
Step: 3 logs in using UAN
After generating UAN the visit the KMAT Kerala home page once again
And login by using UAN and Password. Note that the default password for the first login is the candidate’s date of birth as dd/mm/yyyy format.
After that read the instructions for online registration and click on the proceed button to continue.
STEP: 4 CANDIDATES PROFILE REGISTRATION
After entering the above details mentioned then click on SAVE AND CONTINUE button to proceed.
*make sure that the all the mandatory (marked as *) fields are filled before submitting.
STEP 5: ONLINE PAYMENT
Verify the profile details and choose which payment mode is acceptable by the candidates then click on MAKE ONLINE PAYMENT link to do registration fee payment.
Note: Only online payments are accepted include net banking, debit and credit cards
Save or print a copy of the payment receipt for future reference.
STEP: 6 UPLOAD THE PHOTO AND SIGNATURE
Read the instructions and upload the signature and photographs in the mentioned size and format and attach to the correct field.
STEP: 7 EXAMINATION CENTER DETAILS
- Select the center details for writing examination.
- Choose the place that nearest place of candidates as center 1.choose center 2 as second preference then center 3 as the third preference.
- Once the candidates select the center details they cannot make any changes to it. So please make sure that the details are clearly stated.
- After click on submit.
STEP 8 PROFILE VERIFICATION
After verification .check the disclaimer and confirm the application details by clicking on the CONFIRM APPLICATION DETAILS button.
STEP 9 PRINT THE COMPLETED APPLICATION
Print the completed application for reference. Candidates should keep this until you get the admit card for the exam.
KMAT KERALA ADMIT CARD
After closing the application the candidates should wait to get an admit card.
The candidates can login with their user id and password on KMAT KERALA official webpage and download the Admit Card. It is available approximately 10 to 14 days after closing the application. The notification will update on the official page.
Note: Admit Card is an important verification document that a candidate has to mandatory carry on the day of the test. Remember that the digital copy of the KMAT Kerala Admit Card is not allowed.
KMAT KERALA ANSWER KEY
After the examination, the candidates can have the right to take the carbon copy of the exam OMR paper. The answer key of the Test is published on the evening of the exam day. They can evaluate their answers with the answer key. It helps the candidates to understand whether he/she is passed the exam or not. The answer key is published on the OFFICIAL KMAT KERALA WEBSITE.
KMAT KERALA RESULTS
The KMAT Kerala Score Cards will be available after the declaration of the result. The results for KMAT Kerala are announced on the official website. The user has to login using his application number, etc to get the result. After which the candidates can go on get the printout of the scorecard.
The scorecard of every candidate will contain the candidate’s name, the application number, sectional marks, total marks, and the general rank of the applicant.
Note: please keep the Scorecard until the candidate’s gets admission.

Tips and Tricks
- Identify your strength and weakness: first, you have to identify your strength and weakness and work on them. Concentrate more on your weak areas and improve yourself. If you are bad in maths such as average, percentage, interest calculations you have to work more on them.
- Speed and accuracy: if the candidates decided to achieve the highest score they must have speed and accuracy in solving problems.
- Understand the syllabus: In Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension section brush up your grammar and vocabulary skills. In paragraph question the Topics like synonyms, antonyms, idioms, Para jumbles, phrases, expressions, comprehension passages.
- Before you mark the answer recheck it. When attempting a quantitative aptitude test make sure that the answers are correct.
Exam time tips
- First, choose your best area from the session. if you are good at calculations and arithmetic’s you can go for that first.
- Concentrate on the part that is easy for you. Do not concentrate on a question that you do not fully know.
- It is possible to get more marks from the logical reasoning area so look at that session first.
- Remember that each correct answer will get four marks and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer. So do not mark the answer by twisting a completely unknown question.
