A very good morning I bid to the teachers and my fellow friends. Here, I am today to enlighten you is about how to live a healthy life.

In today’s affluent society we often hear people suffering of obesity, related illnesses and so on. Most of the time we are busy in our daily routines ignoring the effects of high calorie intake. Obese children have a big, fat and flabby tummy and more often that not they have the tendency to move clumsily, just like a `humpty dumpty’. My dear friends, I kid you not the issue of obesity among children has reached an alarming stage.

In order to stay in the best of health, we must eat well. Food must be controlled so that it would not lead to overweight. As a healthy society, we must follow the balance diet. The balance diet provides the appropriate vitamins, protein, carbohydrates, minerals and so on. Thus, we can live without suffering of any sickness. We should resist the urge and indulge in fast food and carbonated drinks.

In addition, if we are overweight there would be difficulties to buy clothes. My dear friend, to nip the problem, parents could turn to more home cooked meal as to encourage their children to eat healthy and balanced diet. By disciplining the kids, parents are advised to make them stay away from junk food. Besides, parents are encouraged to prepare healthy meals and lead a healthy lifestyle by playing the role us a role model in the family. With that, these children will exactly follow parent’s footsteps in leading healthy lifestyle.

Not only that, the habit of exercising should be made priority in the family. Hence, a conducive environment is important in helping the children to get into the mood of leading a healthy lifestyle. Parents should motivate themselves to exercise with their children as well. Sometimes, we can’t deny that exercising can be boring when it is done continuously the same way for a period of time. To prevent this from happening, parents should incorporate fun activities that requires lots of movements such as hiking together in their daily activities.

On the other hand, we should stay away from cigarettes and alcohol. Many youngsters experiment with these substances only to find that they have become addicted to them. In order to avoid succumbing to peer pressure, we should no hang out with those who indulge in drinking and smoking.

Finally, we must avoid unhealthy lifestyles such aslate night partying. We must ensure that we allocate sufficient time for rest and relaxation and also regularise our sleeping patterns so that we can wake up energised the next day.

Dear friends, before I leave this spot, I would like to advise to all of you to avoid being obese by leading a healthy lifestyle. Students please bear in mind these guidelines and begin it from today.Even though it may seem tough to start but if there’s a will, there’s always a way. I am sure that all of you will be able to do it. We should be aware that health is wealth, the greatest gift we can get from God, and without health, we can’t achieve success. Moreover, healthy children are the asset of the country, they are the pillars and future leaders of the nation. Thank you.
