World Famous Fushimi Inari Taisha
The world that we live in faces an existential threat as the environment undergoes severe damage. Global warming is still widely talked about, even though it was first mentioned in the 19th century. Due to industrialization, while we have become developed, we face global warming, heavy pollution, and health risks, which come as the effects.
However, as we start to face the collapse of the environment, we feel anxious, worried about what is our future. Some feel apathetic and choose to believe that now there is no meaning to it all. But, there are still some who believe that by determination and action, we can save the environment and ourselves, maybe make the world a better place for our future generation.
Eco-anxiety is the term we generally use to describe the stress and anxiety we feel when we hear about the state the environment is in. While it is not clinically diagnosed as a disorder, it does act as a pointer that people are concerned about the environment. Every day, the conditions become worse and worse, and it makes it difficult for people not to be concerned about their future or their children’s future. Global warming, pollution, and sea level issues are not a single person’s concern but rather the concern of the large community that we are a part of.
Asthma is now something that 1 in 5 people have. Because of heat strokes, patients are taken to the hospital and are put in ice water; some are not fortunate enough to survive. The weather has started to become more unpredictable and is eventually starting to become more hostile for us day by day. It becomes viable and legitimate to become anxious about our environment.
However, anxiety in regards to environment does not necessarily mean that people decide to make a change in the world. Anxiety about existence can act as a big cause and motivation for depression. Apathy. People start to become apathetic and lose hope in helping to make a change. People become pessimistic about life and lose hope in their future, in the future of their children, and accept the environmental collapse.
Another cause of apathy is not believing and remaining oblivious to global warming. There are some people who believe that global warming, pollution, and the damage to the environment are a conspiracy, and they contribute to negligence towards the environment. Sadly, such a pessimistic attitude and negligence are major contributors to damage to the environment and do indeed play a big role in harming the environment.
While some people choose to be apathetic, there are people who get anxious but try to make a difference to make a change in our world. Conferences, summits, and projects are held all over the world so that people remain aware that global warming, pollution are indeed real concerns and that, by spreading awareness, people choose to make a change.
Many environmentalists try to ensure that we remember to take initiatives that can help make our future better. The future not only lies in the hands of the next generation, but ours too. Every decision that we make with regard to the environment, directly or indirectly, plays a part in what tomorrow will be, what our future will be. By planting trees and plants, by conserving water, and by using public transport, we can all help make the world more sustainable.
Governments can take initiatives in asking or helping the citizens of the country to ensure that we all make a good change to make life quality better in the future. Instead of using cars that run on fossil fuels, we can use CNG, battery-based cars. It is a completely viable, safe, and eco-friendly option.
The world we live in isn’t perfect. It’s in tatters. And while this is concerning, we should try not to be let down by it. It shouldn’t make us hopeless or make us think that this is the end. We should be anxious, not apathetic, but we must keep our focus on what truly matters- helping the environment. By doing small things, we are more than capable of making a big change, and the change that we may make will help us in the future.
We should remember that for life to prosper, it needs an environment where it can grow, and it can only do so if we decide to make a change for the better. The weight of the world lies on our shoulders, and we have to help the world be a better place. We are the ones responsible for the actions that we take. And although we may not be the biggest contributors to damaging the environment, we can contribute to making it the best for ourselves, for every living being that exists. Because lives matter, the environment matters even more.
