26 Years Old Praniti Nayak Represents India in Tokyo Olympics

The Olympics timetable is announced amid pandemic and the Olympics will be started from July 2021 which was rescheduled due to a Covid 2019. Despite rescheduling, it will be known as Tokyo Olympic 2020.

“The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be celebrated from 23 July to 8 August 2021,” the International Olympic Committee said on 29 March 2021.

Total 127 athletes are qualified across 18 sports including hockey, running, and many more where India had 117 participants in Rio Olympics, and India won only two medals including one silver medal and one bronze medal.

No one Indian can forget the moment of the Rio Olympics when Deepa Karmakar made history by qualifying in the final round. Unfortunately, she couldn’t win the bronze medal but she has become the inspiration for the coming generation. This Olympics Deepa won’t appear but Praniti Nayak is the new hope for Indians in Gymnastics.

The daughter of bus driver Praniti Nayak has qualified for Gymnastic and She will be the second woman’s gymnast of India. Praniti hails from small towns in Medinipur in West Bengal. Despite having many difficulties her father always supported her ambitions. Praniti has already participated in the 2019 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships where she earned Bronze Medal. There were many rumors in sports news about her qualifying in the Tokyo Olympics but her outstanding performance at the 2019 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships was taken into consideration for Tokyo Olympics.

“I will try to give my best and I will be happy if I get success. Due to the pandemic, I have been home for a year and I have been regularly practicing for the last two months.” Said Pranii Nayak.

Apart from Praniti Nayak, many a player is trying their luck in this Olympic. P.V. Sindhu the only Silver Medal winner in Rio Olympics is also participating in this time and she is confident for this time.

We hope for her best performance and she will follow the footsteps of Deepa Karmakar the first Indian women’s gymnast and fulfill her wish of winning Gold Medal.
