Whenever the question of “Who are the best Indian writers?” arises, the name of Chetan Bhagat is always taken. From engineering to investment banking to one of the bestselling authors, how inspiring is his story of life!

Chetan Bhagat is an Indian author, a columnist in The Times of India and other leading newspapers, a motivational public speaker and a screenplay writer who writes on topics that are relatable to the Young India. He has written a total of nine novels and three non-fiction. He started his writing career with the novel ‘Five Point Someone’ that was published in 2004 which connects with the younger generation and their wonderful phase of life – College and Hostel. The movie ‘3 Idiots’ was based on the same novel, which was a blockbuster movie.

Most of his novels are adapted into Bollywood films like the movie Hello based on ‘One night @ the call center’, 3 idiots, Kai Po Chebased on ‘The 3 Mistakes of my life’, 2 States and Half Girlfriend. Chetan Bhagat has earned a lot of fame in his writing career, that is quite evident from his achievements and awards. He had been featured in the Time’s magazine list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2010 in the Artist category, he also won the “CNN-IBN Indian of the year in 2014” award. He won the Filmfare award forthe best screenplay for Kai Po Che. New York Times, in 2008, declared Chetan Bhagat as the “biggest best-sellinglanguage novelist in India’s history.”Also, Heis one of the biggest names on the list of Indian authors, having sold over 7 million copies to date.

The journey of his life perfectly describes the proverb “It is never too late to be what you might have been.”.
